I remember reading a good few years ago that in the early 20th century the foreign office ran the entire British Empire with 400 staff.
Now there is no empire and 17,000 staff.

Personally, I think AI could be process-driven to perform a lot of Whitehall's tasks.
After all, what are humans but mere biological computers anyway ? We process certain instructions in hopefully a logical way. Day in. Day out. 99% is most likely the same repetition. It's only the 1% that needs flagging to a human to oversee a hiccup. (Which should be codified with a resolution so the next time AI sees it, it can implement) |

I was expecting the ISA limits on how much you can put in each year to be reduced but fortunately they seemed to have escaped for now at least. Fuel duty may be another target come the next budget |
