Who else think the same that this so called peace deal looks like it is in favour for putin?
It is almost like they have agreed on it before hand and what we are seeing in the media is a play for the gallery so it looks like it have been properly done, the way I see it, trump is putins extended arm.
What is your view about it, do you also think that this is extortion too? |

A cynic might say that any ceasefire gives Russia time to replenish armaments, which they can do faster than Ukraine and for that matter all Europe. Regarding ceasefires generally, can we ever trust anything Russia says? |

I'm sensing people think that the only correct course of action for Putin is to say, I got this wrong and I'm going to give up everything I have taken and go home.
Ending this war will come at a cost to Ukraine, because Putin has the upper hand and options. He can continue to take land, he could continue for another X years, so what is happening is a negotiation that will lead to compromises in favour of Russia to end the war. |

Exactly this. And for all the allies handshakes and photo shoots of solidarity they (we) have failed miserably to honour our obligations under the 1994 Budapest security memorandum and arm Ukraine adequately |

"What part of the deal, the black sea ceasefire or the ban on attacking energy infrastructure? "
It’s all of the caveats in the Russian readout that are not in the Ukrainian or US readouts of the agreement
Such as in the Russian side it is contingent to Russia’s agricultural bank being allowed back into the Swift world banking system…and other things designed to slow implementation such as finding all the Ukrainian kids taken by the Russians to give them back
To give Ukraine credit it’s shows what a good job it’s done negating the Black Sea fleet and any trade in agriculture going in and out |

And no doubt continue to do so going forward.

Russia are going to want sanctions lifted, and they will also want to ensure that they have time to organise themselves, it is inevitable.
If the war is to end it will end on Russia's terms. In Putin's perfect world, the outcome will be everything returns back to normal with his acquired new land.
When an end has been agreed it will test Europe from all sides Russia, US and Ukraine. |

Despite what we have been told by government and media for the past few years, the fact is that Ukraine isn’t winning this war, and that’s not going to change.
It’s like Russia is 4-1 up with a few minutes of extra time left and some people are expecting Russia to call it a draw and head home quietly. |

Of course ukraine dont have a say, thats what happens in war, the ones who are more dominant make the terms, ukraine can agree to them or they can carry on fighting, they are likley to run out of bodies long before russia does and yhey will take even more than they already have, war isnt fair its that simple who ever has the bigger stick is the victor, apart from being given weapons ukraine are on there own america or anyone else is not going to be sending troops to help with the fight |

I agree. I've noticed Putin belly aching alot, sounding like a desperate looser trying to justify his actions clutching at straws. He sounds like a spoilt child who's had his bum slapped. |

They have not been given the opportunity to win the war which they would quite easily given their superior tactical acumen. Ukraine only needed permission to reach into the Russian interior to attack the airfields and bombers that were launching glide bombs and missiles into Ukraine to stop the Russian advance.
To a degree this is now happening with Ukrainian home developed drones and adapted home developed cruise missiles and the longer that Russia can be slowed the more likelihood that Ukraine will be able to reverse the Russian land grabs by being able to be in the superior position that Russia has been in for the first three years of this war.
Russia can only throw men into the meat grinder and their tactics are prehistoric and seemingly not adaptable to change. |

Ukraine will be forced into a poor peace on Russias terms by the US threatening to withdraw all military and intelligence support if they dont sign.
America are doing exactly what Putin wants, it's shocking and terrible to see. |

" you do realise russia are dropping those 3000 pound glide bombs on them daily still dont you? Also they have pretty much got all of kursk back, the fact is ukraine will run out of bodies to keep throwing at the problem long before russia runs out, in a war of attrition ukraine are never going to win its simple maths, do russia want it dragging on probably not but they are in a better position than ukraine if it does drag on |
