Zelenski v Trump

Absolutely beyond disgraceful.
Trump's a bully on home turf. Let him pull that shit in Kiev.
Like all bullies, he's a coward. Put him in a flak jacket and a blue fucking helmet and stick him where the war's actually happening and see how tough and finger-waggy he is then. |

Moral of the story? Never, ever rely on the US. They will backstab and cut you out if it is in their interests. Look what happened in Vietnam. Supported the South for decades only to abandon the South when the North invaded and took Saigon. |

He's obviously a pathetic weak excuse for a human. He got out of military duty compared with Zelensky who stayed with his people, whilst bombarded by Russia. A true leader.
As for the pathetic slur of him starting world war 3 |

I found it quite exhilarating and more normal than the Starmer touch up scene.
It shows visceral opinions and no pussy footing.
I had a boss who was 10 times more biligerant and obnoxious than Trump. So I didn't find it shocking.
Zelensky dealt with it with dignity and stuck to his guns. This is what negotiating is all about. It aint for the faint hearted.

Made me want to puke listening to Trump and Vance bully Zelensky in front of the world's press. I don't say Zelensky is perfect, but I don't doubt his courage and his commitment to his country and people. Do we really want a trade deal with a country that does this to it's allies? (the US pretty much bankrupted the UK in WWII pulling the same stunt with loan/lease). Thank God we have China emerging as a counterweight to US imperialism and dominance I say. It should be president Xi getting the state visit. |

That wasn't negotiation, that was grandstanding for the camera.
I think we've all had egomaniacal man children for bosses at one point or other, the difference is they didn't purport to be the most powerful man on the planet.
We should hold him to higher standards, and he hasn't even tried to meet those standards for one single day of his life. |

If you watch the whole fifty minute session it was obvious from the start that there is a difference of opinion but for forty minutes it was all fairly amicable with an underlying tension.
It went haywire in the last ten minutes or so but Zelensky handled the situation very badly. Trump is obviously also very angry about the whole Biden link with Ukraine and the history of the Dems trying to smear him with “Russiagate”.
But as Trump rightly says Zelensky “doesn’t have the cards” and there’s no point him turning up with the begging bowl in the US and then berating the people who he wants money off, it’s just stupid.
Trump rightly sees that the US has no real interest in Ukraine, and that Ukraine is losing anyway so it’s pointless carrying on. The US electorate has lost interest in the war and wants it finished.
Trump sees himself as a mediator who is trying to resolve the problem but I can’t see that happening with Zelensky in power. He is a major blocker to this problem being resolved.

Trump is an egomaniac who worships mass murderers and dictators. That's not opinion, it's easily verifiable fact.
The tension comes from trump's constant echoing of Putin's propaganda. The men that has said repeatedly and publicly that he wants the soviet empire back. He's got Belarus, he's been trying to get Ukraine back for over a decade. If Ukraine falls, a NATO country like Poland will be next.
That's where ww3 begins.
Make no mistake. The trump administration is a Russian ally. That's beyond question and that should be making everyone shit their pants.
Trump sees himself as an emperor. He wants Canada. He wants Greenland. He wants Panama. He wants to bomb Mexico. His lackeys have suggested the UK would be better off as a US colony.
There were people to hold him back last time. They're long gone. We're a month in, their economy is tanking, the markets are crashing, musk is co-president and is shutting down every department he can get his hands on while planes are falling out of the sky and people are dying directly because of his actions.
Meanwhile human rights are being removed from black people, LGBT people and women in general.
And we have 4 years and 11 months left. |

so the confused old bloke and his sycaphant have crawled back to the whitehouse to lick their wounds after their very public humiliation and just as public breakdown in front of the worlds press, who have given them an absolute kicking in todays news headlines. grumps fiasco yesterday has made him a global laughing stock and it's all down hill from here to the mid terms, where he'll get pumelled at the voting booth unless he can stop what is now a freefall. |

"Meanwhile human rights are being removed from black people, LGBT people and women in general"
In what way are human rights being removed ?
"
Birthright citizenship being removed, mass deportations of legal citizens, removal of DEI everywhere, bodily autonomy and birth control bans, removal of roe v wade. LGBT and non white people have been sacked and blocked from serving in the military and several agencies.
And that's for starters. |

I fully support Ukraine but Zelensky utterly fucked up. He has no cards to play, is totally dependent on US support yet got drawn into a public dick measuring contest. No wonder the Ukrainian Ambassador was shaking her head. |

The main reason the war in Ukraine has been going on for 3 years is because of the weapons that Joe Biden provided Ukraine to battle with Russia. Now Trump is the president and he thinking is I can end that war by stopping the funding of weapons to Ukraine.Yes Trump is coming across as a bully but there is no such thing as a free lunch which is why I think Trump is calling in Ukraine’s debt to the USA.The best thing that Zelenski can do is negotiate a deal with Trump and Putin thereby ending a war Ukraine can’t win even after 3 years worth of funding by the USA , UK , France and any other countries I have missed. No one likes to see a bully win but is this war really worth the loss of life we have already had. |

That’s just total nonsense.
Birthright citizenship will end up in the Sipreme Court.
No “legal citizens” are being deported. Illegal immigrants are.
Roe v Wade was a Supreme Court decision based on a technical point around the US Constitution and States are free to do whatever they want on the issue.
The idea that the military is stopping non white people from serving is total claptrap.
No wonder Trump likes to talk about “fake news”. |

Because other world leaders have shown their support for this invaded sovereign country by going there. There's a world of difference between sitting comfortable thousands of miles away, wagging your finger, making demands like a petulant child and walking through the devastation your mentor inflicted while fearing that your mentor might send a missile your way, seeing the bodies of the lives your mentor snuffed out.

Reuters and Associated Press were not allowed into the meeting because they are not on the approved list, yet Russia media company TASS were allowed to live stream the meeting.
A White House spokesperson said that TASS are not on the approved list so they don't know how they got in and were eventually lead from the building.
So either someone agreed it or that is shocking security. |

That is pretty much the way I saw it.
Zelensky thinks that he can use the US to get better terms (and land back) in any peace deal but Trump is having none of it.
In Trumps eyes the Crimea is gone and apart from a bit of tinkering with the final border in eastern Ukraine it will end up as we are now. There is no winning way out for Zelensky. The US cavalry are not going to come charging over the hill to his rescue.
Prolonging the war will only serve Putin who will carry on making gains and reducing Ukraine's manpower and when the inevitable peace deal is signed it will be Putin in the stronger position.
However, Trump losing his temper and washing all that dirty linen in public was unforgivable.
Zelensky has to accept reality and Trump needs to reel his neck in a bit. |

The land lost so far isn't being given up by Putin as difficult it is for Ukraine to accept, there might be a bit of swapping some for the kursk pocket but that's small now.. |
