UK has been urged to act now on net zero, and we are recommended to skip two kebabs’ worth of meat a week

Climate Change Committee issued this advice to government on UK meeting carbon emissions target by 2050

Typical bollocks (not suggesting we eat less bollocks btw) from some middle class advisor/civil servant suggesting kebabs is something the plebs will connect with in order to get the message across..

I thought the population was too poor to afford meat since Labour came into government.

"I thought the population was too poor to afford meat since Labour came into government."

That is the target, they are getting there and they can file it under net zero sacrifices.

Walsall

Increasing cost of flying and “limiting capacity”, at the same time as expanding Heathrow.

Maybe it will be used by rich Chinese people and we can carry their bags after a three hour walk to work.

Also:

Electric vehicles (more expensive)

No gas hobs (other options more expensive)

Heat pumps (more expensive)

Electric mowers (more expensive)

Walking and cycling.

“Cultured meat”

Sounds like the dystopian future will be one of immobile impoverishment and immiseration for 95% of the population.

"I thought the population was too poor to afford meat since Labour came into government."

I think the definition of meat that goes into kebabs is pretty flexible.

Saw a few similar looking dodgy types on day trips into east Berlin, even the guys at the Brandenburg gate looked scruffy in their kit..

If they are referring to the meat content of those slabs that sit in a chip shop for a few days. that would be equivalent to about 1g.

It should tell you everything when BP are rolling back their green pledges as it doesn't make them enough money.

That's your money in their dividends.
