An excellent article from Carole Cadwalladr about Russian influence in UK politics.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why Boris blocked the publication of the report.

Guess away but if you have any facts, you would be one up on most who comment on the political forum.

That the one into Boris and his time alone with the son of the 'ex kgb' officer Lebedev..?

The one where he went alone after attending the Nato summit called in response to Russian agents using novichok in Salisbury..

That report..

Or..

Does anyone know whether that actually happened? Given Carole's record, I'm not just going to take her word for it.

Would that be the same Boris Johnson who led Western support for Ukraine and is hugely admired there? But apparently he's a Putin stooge.

Ah I see, if it's not criticizing the current government it's outside your field of expertise.

I can't engage any more with a story written by a proven liar such as CC. When her libel case with Aaron Banks came to court she had to admit under oath that she had literally no evidence for her mukltiple claims of Russian complicity in the Brexit campaign. Time to move on to serious journalists.

in the banks trial, the judge concluded that "on more than one occasion Mr Banks told untruths about a secret relationship he had with the Russian government in relation to acceptance of foreign funding of electoral campaigns in breach of the law on such funding"

Which trial, the one that was overturned?

Or the one Cadwalladr accepted that there was no evidence that Banks had accepted foreign funding for electoral campaigns in breach of the law?

The judge ruled she had 'no defence of truth'. You might think that's a disadvantage for a journalist but apparently not if you work for the Guardian.🤡

Probably the worst aspect of CC's conspiracy theories is they underminine genuine concerns about foreign interference, and they are totally partisan. Of course Russia tries and sometimes succeeds in influencing the policy of other Govts, although this is probably not as widespread or as successful as the efforts of the China. But CC turned this important issue into an anti Brexit Web of nonsense which quite rightly collapsed in open court.

So far, it is.

I've seen it written in the Guardian article that she wrote, but I've not seen anyone else make that claim. Can you point me to any evidence that Boris did indeed block the publication of that report?
