"Reported by the Whitehouse. Well that's a suprise isn't it I said it months ago and confident that the Americans and Israel knew it too. Now, after 15 months, Hamas has a reservoir of new recruits, all embittered with scores to settle. You can't kill an ideology with bombs and bullets.

"How did they manage to rearm these fighters, especially now the Syrian routes would have been dismantled Possibly got plenty of ordnance deep down in the tunnels, hopefully where the hostages are but as to how many time will tell.. " That would be one hell of a stockpile! I'm guessing the IDF took whatever it found from wherever they found it. I know Israel were also taking out munition targets in other countries known to them as supplying Hamas. It is remarkable they kept it flowing in and managed to hide it away.

Lots of tunnels from Syria mainly, could be part of why Israel have taken land as a buffer plus the influence of Iran in Syria and the ease of moving rockets etc to supply Hezbollah and Hamas has been disrupted and degraded as you say..

They will just keep fighting anyone, Jews, other religions, other Muslim sects, secular groups, gays, whoever they chose at the time to fit in with their corruption of religious dogma, so they can pick and chose non-believers they don't agree with, so they can then hide behind this religion saying they are just fulfilling their God's commands. It's been going on since just after the creation of Islam, can't see it stopping anytime soon. Mrscx

Someone definitely has a problem with being able to differentiate between the original form of Zionism and the corruption of this by some to use this corrupted form commit their wrongful acts. All those lives lost, and American tax payers money that could have been used to fix the American infrastructure.. bridges, passenger train services roads , all splurged away to commit war crimes thousands of miles away. So what has it achieved? There were better ways to have dealt with Hamas.. but, nooooo let's do it the way it's been done Interesting thing to say. Hamas would have replace 15.000 odd “fighters”? Source please. (Popcorns ready) It's bravado i think. Whilst there might be plenty of young men out for revenge, there's the logistics behind it all. The time it would just take to train them would seem to make this statement an exaggeration. Islamic terrorism has taken quite a pounding during this war. Most of the Axis of Resistance is much weaker currently. Mrs x " This war has just seeded another generation of terrorists intent on revenge. Sadly, the cycle of war and violence is inevitable. A braver and more enlightened leader than Netanyahu would have responded to the Music Festival attacks in a firm yet more constructive way. A way that might have brought the hope of peace. Now there is none.

Millions of young German boys left behind in a country that was devastated, in a way that never happened after WW1, fatherless, brotherless and yet they never rose up to carry on the fight. On the second point I'm not sure how else they could go after Hamas who hide behind women and children, under hospitals etc without that fucking awful phrase collateral damage as they were not prepared to play the long game plus at the time they had public support.. But what has reducing Gaza to rubble and 40,000 deaths brought other than sowing the seeds of the next Middle East war? " Wanting less numbers of innocent deaths isn't naive.. There's no way that scenario could have happened given the justified outrage after the barbarity of Oct 7, it was literally how the brains behind it imagined it hoped it would go.. Israel under attack from outside with Hezbollah and Houthi and drawn into another urban war in Gaza after the previous one had cost then dearly plus the West Bank as another area of conflict.. No way would Netanyahu and his right wing support in government and discuss with Hamas what they want, two state solution etc in 'normal times' let alone once they were intent on destroying them (which is impossible).. If the plan works and Israel gets it's hostages back dead and alive I think they'll control what goes in so severely in relation to any rebuilding it'll take years .. A braver and more enlightened leader than Netanyahu would have responded to the Music Festival attacks in a firm yet more constructive way. A way that might have brought the hope of peace. Now there is none. I agree on the point about a new generation of lambs for Hamas to send of for slaughter, said so on here in the early days of Israel response especially after they cut power and water and greatly reduced the humanitarian aid.. Exactly the same happened after internment in northern Ireland.. On the second point I'm not sure how else they could go after Hamas who hide behind women and children, under hospitals etc without that fucking awful phrase collateral damage as they were not prepared to play the long game plus at the time they had public support.. What I meant was that Israel could have given a short sharp military response followed by some engagement with Hamas on the underlying issues. Maybe this is naïve and stand no chance of working. But what has reducing Gaza to rubble and 40,000 deaths brought other than sowing the seeds of the next Middle East war? Wanting less numbers of innocent deaths isn't naive.. Not sure how many Palestinians will want to stay there.. It didn't happen because of the unfortunate coincidence of a thuggish Israeli leader and weak and incapacitated US president." Tehran knew how it would play out with Netanyahu (the ease of the actual attacks probably even surprised them) but yes perhaps they thought Biden would reign in Israel to a greater degree..

"This post highlights something very important. Why is it that some people are peace negotiators, some volunteer to deliver humanitarian aid, and others volunteer to talk nonsense about it on a swingers forum! " So rather than challenge a post, and given a reasoned rebuttale as to why you disagree with it, maybe even provide a counter opinion, you just decided to challenge the poster. I don't know why you did this, I can only presume in the absence of any substantial that you thought my mention of the Crusades to be nonsensical. After all why mention a conflict from hundreds of years ago, that was fought by roughly the same players, over the same region, using a corruption of a religion to justify its aims. It's not similar at all. And looking at the past never helps with the problems of the present, it's just nonsense. After all they don't teach Caesars tactics at Sandhurst still, or Napolean's or Alexander the Great's, oh they do, silly me. Maybe they think you can learn something by looking backwards to go forwards. So that's why I mentioned the Crusades and Nazism, both corrupt ideologies both beaten through military campaigns. I did this to offer an alternative view to the negotiation model that people are discussing on here. I'm not advocating it I'm just saying that in certain circumstances it has proved a more effective, if not desirable, option than talking. Chamberlain and 'Peace in our time' springs to mind. Whilst religious fanaticism remains a part in this arena I'm afraid negotiating is proving Einsteins Theory of Idiocy true. Look at Khartoum, it's dictated most, if not all of the negotiations in the region since it was agreed upon. Ignore history at your peril, but then again I could just be talking nonsense. Mrs x

"Reported by the Whitehouse. Well that's a suprise isn't it I said it months ago and confident that the Americans and Israel knew it too. All those lives lost, and American tax payers money that could have been used to fix the American infrastructure.. bridges, passenger train services roads , all splurged away to commit war crimes thousands of miles away. So what has it achieved? There were better ways to have dealt with Hamas.. but, nooooo let's do it the way it's been done What has it achieved? The bloodiest of noses to the Hamas and the Iranian puppet masters. Do you think they will try to attempt an act of terrorism like this again, any time soon? Palestinian civilians deaths are likely 3X that of militants. 1.9 million displaced, homes destroyed, relatives lost. Hamas recruitment queues will resemble happy hour at spoons The west will have to wait to see if there’s any retaliation from the Islam’s, it will undoubtedly be civilians again that pay. I keep reading, Hamas recruitment will grow and is swelling. What does that actually tell us? Humans resent being bombed But Japan didn't carry on after Hiroshima, Germany after Dresden or Cologne. These more to it than that isn't there. If it wasn't then Israel have been attacked mist days for years but it's only a problem when they retaliate, Mrs x" Japan was governed by the USA for a number of years after the war. Germany was not allowed an army for a number of years after the war and was governed by usa Britian France and also Russia. this was to educate the population and put a system of peace into the societies of those countries.

"It all reduces to much simpler concepts, guys: Hamas (not the Palestinians, although many support them) hates Israel and wants it destruction. They attacked in a cowardly way (as it always is, with terrorist attacks), and Israel, much like the USA post 11/9, went for vengeance rather than simply justice. Israel bled from his nose. Hamas had its bones crushed, its flesh burned, and so did palestine. Can a 2 state solution work? I mean, if Palestine keeps asking for Israel’s destruction, it’s gonna be hard…and Israel needs to calm down. Hamas has new recruits? Bring them on: they are no match for Israel’s military, that’s for sure. The best chance for Palestine is to eradicate hamas and pray that Israel will feel they had their vengeance. To all the pious, white as a dove souls here: you negotiate with terrorists only to discuss their surrender. The fact that the ideology cannot be beaten is pure bullshit, the ideology will not be brought upon by corpses. Now, where’s my extra supply of popcorn? Netenyahu's been saying Iran are 5 minutes away from achieving a nuclear bomb since (I think) the 90s. What's the problem? " What's the problem? Are you talking about all the inaccuracies in your false narrative or about Iran having nuclear weapons? Just for clarity, let's address your previous post about Begin. Begin was a leader of the Herut, until this party merged into the Likud Party in 1988. The Herut was formed in 1948 by Begin from the Irgun. The Herut was an adherent to Revisionist Zionism, which was created by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. This Zionism does not advocate for two states but does state that everyone living in the state of Israel shall have the same rights, privileges and protection regardless of whether they are Jewish or Palestinian, Christian etc. No mention of violence or genocide, in fact it mentions protecting everyone from harm, unlike the version of Zionism you keep espousing on these threads. Also Begin was granted a visa to Britain in 1972, the year before he founded the Likud and five years before he became Prime Minister. He also visited Britain, meeting with Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister. You know the woman who said she never negotiated with terrorists, yeah that woman. So tell the whole story and not just cherry pick the bits you need. Just incase you were asking whats the problem with Iran having nuclear weapons. I don't think there is and think the USA are mean in not giving them a few. Hope this answers this question for you. Mrs x

My comment isn't to argue with those who I disagree with, but more because I want this person to know that I get where they are coming from. There is so much justification and understand for violence from other people, and not enough people saying that it needs to stop. The fact that a genocide is happening and people are drawing from episodes from the past for reasoning but aren't able to apply that with compassion for those who are suffering in the present. After reading this thread, it would be pointless to share any other views because it's clear that the majority who post here think in away that's opposite to myself.

"The fact that a genocide is happening... Fact, is it?" Yes it is. Just because some of Israel's backers do not want to acknowledge it, doesn't mean it's not true. If you are unsure, look at the definition of a genocide and look at what Israel is doing. If after doing so, you aren't able to see it, then I can't help you.

"The fact that a genocide is happening... Fact, is it?" Media has been kept out of Gaza so we can’t see it. 80,000 tonnes of USA bombs, 80% buildings destroyed, 50k civilian deaths, 1.9 million displaced many more than once. Allah will come calling in the west, reap what we sow.

" Can we agree on the UN definition? https://www.un.org/en/genocide-prevention/definition In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: Killing members of the group; Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. Presumably, that definition is sufficient? So crucially, it requires an "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". Which group (as established fact) is subject to genocide? How is that fact established? Bear in mind that Israel had the capability and opportunity to commit genocide and eradicate the entire population of Gaza but, over the past year, failed to even reduce the overall population.

It's a very odd thing for him to be doing. The Palestinian Arabs living in adjoining countries (Syria, Jordan and most especially Lebanon) are subject to significantly worse conditions than the Palestinian Arabs who are citizens of Israel. Surely those should be the first focus?

"The fact that a genocide is happening... Fact, is it?" There's a case to answer for sure. As the truth emerges, any wrongdoing by Israel will get exposed and eventually punished. Just as Israel has a long memory of wrongs it has suffered, so will the World on Gaza.

I also wouldn't expect Palestinians to leave with the promise of coming back at some point.

Not my fault if everyone in the region would love to eradicate Israel, and Israel is quite capable of defending itself and has powerful allies. Stop bombing Israel, and Israel will stop bombing. Also once there is no excuse for aggression, Israel will bend to international pressure to withdraw from the territories it has illegally annexed. Whoever uses this story to expect or justify any act of Islamic terror in Europe or the US is a complete fool.

It's not just about numbers and that Gazans have suffered more deaths, is a tragedy for those innocent Palestinians but wasn't it their rulers who brought them into a war by the actions on 7th Oct? It's a little bit like being sympathetic towards Germany because they suffered more casualties than us but their actions in Checkoslavia and Poland started the war, not us. Ultimately if Hamas wasn't a terrorist organisation then this would not have happened. Mrs x

It contains the sentence "The commission of prohibited acts with the intent to destroy the group, as such, is sufficient.", but does not go on to explain or demonstrate. After reading it, which group is Israel trying to destroy, and how? Perhaps you could clarify, because the article isn't making that clear. Nor is it clear on how it establishes that intent. Rather, in both instances, it uses very vague generalising. It is abundantly clear that the suffering of millions of innocent Palestinians is immense. Life is indeed intolerable for them and it is neither fair, nor just. But genocide is a big claim with a specific definition and nobody seems to be able to demonstrate it with anything other than strong feelings. Strong feelings which are entirely valid and laudable.

Oh here we go. Quoting an islamaphobes interpretation. I just had a read of those verses and found no such message. I'll help you with the full verse for Surah 47 verse 4: "When you meet the disbelievers in battle, strike them in the neck, and once they are defeated, bind any captives firmly––later you can release them by grace or by ransom––until the toils of war have ended. That [is the way]. God could have defeated them Himself if He had willed, but His purpose is to test some of you by means of others. He will not let the deeds of those who are killed for His cause come to nothing;" There's even a hint at context here so no excuse for laziness/sensationalism/ fearmongering. Feel free to educate yourself from the actual source itself. You'll feel better for it. After all, if you truly believe a fifth of the global population was a threat to the other four fifths, you surely wouldn't be able to sleep at night!

The verse relates to a very specific time and ppl.. The polytheists of mecca who fought against God's messenger and his call to return to monotheism. Many of them knew that what he was telling them was the truth yet they did not want to lose the power and wealth that polytheism in mecca brought them. A treaty had been made but was broken as mentioned in the verse preceding the one you quote "As for those who have honoured the treaty you made with them and who have not supported anyone against you: fulfil your agreement with them to the end of their term. God loves those who are mindful of Him." Context is important, these are not stand alone verses but parts of a story.

Terrorists of any faith, who use a 'corruption' of their faith to call their brothers to arms is not a true reflection of their faith. In this case the terrorist are Islamic and whilst a poster above says that these violent quotes from the Quran are taken out of context that doesn't mean they are not in there and that these extremists use this to convince others of their faith to commit atrocities because it's their God's will. Since the dawn of religion men have fought in the name of religion because they are led to believe 'our God is better than yours'. These terrorists only corrupted their religion for their own aims, they are not doing this because they are pious. In fact I'd go as far as to say they are not even a true devotee of their faith. It's not just an Islamic thing and it's not new, Christians did exactly the same during the Crusades, corrupting Christianity, with the Pope, Urban I think, offering absolution to those who fought this Holy War. When in fact it was just an excuse to pull age as much plunder as they could. So going back to what the poster meant, I think it's because Islamic terrorist is in the spotlight here and is committing atrocities. You are right not all Muslims are terrorists, thankfully most aren't. But those Islamic extremists committing these horrendous acts, are hiding behind this religion to legitimise their terrible acts and are using it to attract the disenfranchised, uneducated, angry young men to do the fighting for their corrupted version of Islam. So that's why the poster posted what they did. At another time and place it could quite easily be about another religion and group of extremist terrorists, Mrs x

" An interesting read, thank you. Strong feelings which are entirely valid and laudable. imo hiding being esoteric definitions is shameful, and a convenient excuse for averting our eyes from actions that demand robust condemnation. The vast majority of 'ordinary' people know intuitively when acts of barbarity have been committed without recourse to a legal textbook." 100% agreed. Playing semantics with lives is ridiculous. Which is why, above, you will see: It is abundantly clear that the suffering of millions of innocent Palestinians is immense. Life is indeed intolerable for them and it is neither fair, nor just. Suffering must be acknowledged and hiding behind definitions is reprehensible. However, that does not give license to people to inflate what's happening, using words such as genocide. It simply is not. That's where definitions are extremely important, since claims necessarily translate into actions. Where genocide is actually occurring, states need to be held accountable and actions need to be taken. Where genocide isn't occurring, those actions should not. You have yourself called (in another thread) for Jews in the UK to be pressured, in other to exert pressure on Israel. If genocide is established, you would presumably suggest stronger pressure. That makes definitions important. They should never be used to minimise suffering but, where (legal or other) action is called for, it's incredible important.

"Few care about what's important. The peace plan has been around for many months, from last May, since when tens of thousands of people have died there, until it was signed this week. This is obscene. It highlights the agendas that these people have Not a good look is it. I wish someone could bring lasting peacenfor all through negotiation Never, it says in the Quran that some day all us infidels got to die That's so true, once the Jews are gone then they'll move on to other groups, Mrs x Where exactly does it say that? The specific verse... Do share. OK, 'The Quran has 123 verses that call for fighting and killing anyone who does not agree with the statement, “There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet.” Jews and Christians are specifically included among such “infidels.” The Quran’s Sura 5:33 says about infidels, “They shall be slain or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off.” Sura 9:5 says, “Slay the infidels wherever you find them ... and lie in wait for them ... and establish every stratagem (of war against them).” Sura 47:4-9 promises paradise to whoever cuts off the head of an infidel.' Another, “And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them go on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran, 9:5) So yes these passages are in the Quran, amongst others, Mrs x Not sure how you added another verse after i was already replying to your original post but again, context. " But they are in there, you cannot deny that. And not everyone is as well educated as you. The terrorists know thus and corrupt the faith to call to arms their brothers to take up a Holy cause. This is not unique to Islam but to all faiths, Crusades is one such example. But to deny this doesn't happen is naive. It's play 101 from the religious terrorists play book, all religious terrorists of any faith. Whip up your 'congregation' into a frenzy and point them in the direction you want them to go. It's very effective unfortunately. So such phrases are indeed in there and they are used by extremists to commit horrendous acts. Mrs x

Well actually to commit anyone of a crime you definitely have to use a legal handbook, you have to normally prove the actual reus, which is the physical act and the mens rea the mental element. Unless you can satisfy these things you are not going to get a conviction. No matter how barbaric, criminal convictions require you to have evidence of the crime, that they have satisfied all the elements of a crime and that there is no defence in lae. These are defined in legal books and not in the intuition of the 'ordinary' people. So the poster is not using semantics just pointing out the legal realities here. So can you say exactly what Israels intentions were? And can you say exactly who this genocide was committed against? Both elements being required to obtain a conviction for genocide. That's all the poster is saying. Mrs x

Speaking out is fine but to accuse anyone of a crime that you have no evidence of is not prudent. You only have to look at the plethora of cases of miscarriages of justice to know that. You may not agree with something but to accuse someone before they have gone through due process is wrong. Even if it's because you feel aggrieved because any subsequent judgement doesn't go as you thought it might. It's not all about damage caused or lives lost, no matter whether you think it's horrific. I think everyone should wait until due process has been completed, it makes no difference anyway especialy in the International community, not sure anyone outside of Sydney, takes any notice of whats being said on here, Mrs x

At another time and place it could quite easily be about another religion and group of extremist terrorists, Mrs x Tbh only they know what they meant so perhaps allow them to clarify rather than second guessing perhaps..? Going solely on what they said my response isn't being altered.. Cheers.. I've not asked you to change anything, in fact I agree with what you said. It's ridiculous to tar everyone with the same brush you are right. But when you see the acts of terror committed in the name of Islam you may feel that Islam is a violent religion, unless you thought about who is calling for this violence and what might be their true intentions, that's all I was trying to point out. Mrs x Thanks but I really don't need anyone to tell me about the things I've seen and dealt with.. And no absolutely no, I don't think any religion is more violent than others based upon a massively biased view.. You've agreed with me then you go on to say something similar as the person I responded to..? No I haven't, look at my other posts on this thread. I've not said any religion is anymore violent than any other. I've even said all religions are guilty of this and that it's not a new phenomenon. Please have a read and see I'm telling the truth. I'm just saying Islamic terrorist is currently in the news. I even pointed that if it was another time and place it would be a different religious group talked about. And I'm no way denigrating what you've seen and experienced, you are talking about Northern Ireland I presume and I genuinely thank you for your service. Some of us lived through this so we do know what it was like. Hope this clears it up, I do agree with what you've said. Mrs x" Your post to which I last responded might have had more credibility if you had made the point about some of all the faiths but you went only for acts of terror committed in the name of only one.. We're i state "it's not unique to Islam but to all faiths', that not make it clear that I believe all religions are capable of religious terrorism. Mrs x Your post to which I last responded might have had more credibility if you had made the point about some of all the faiths but you went only for acts of terror committed in the name of only one.. I've not said you were or are denigrating from what I said about where I served which wasn't only there but that's an aside..Not sure how you misses this. A quote from my post to you were i expressly stated Christianity has used similar tactics... 'It's not just an Islamic thing and it's not new, Christians did exactly the same during the Crusades, corrupting Christianity, with the Pope, Urban I think, offering absolution to those who fought this Holy War. When in fact it was just an excuse to pull age as much plunder as they could.' That's a direct quote about Christians corrupting their religion in tge same way as Islamic terrorist are doing now. Not sure why you haven't seen thus or your just refusing to say you say it. I've said similar to other posters as well if you'd care to read that, Mrs x Tbh I did miss it, had I done so I wouldn't have made my latter point.. I didn't read it because most of what you put wasn't relevant to what I said to the other poster so I skipped a lot of what you said.. Because you said too much which yiu didn't need to.. But hands up yes you mentioned Christianity..Now getting told I chat too much by a man who is not my hubby haha cheek of it, Mrs x Well.. " You've said enough, Mrs x

"We all know what Islam is we have seen it in action so we shall say no more I've seen Catholics (some) do pretty bad shit as well as some Protestants as well as some Muslims in my service.. And we are seeing the same again in Gaza, Israel and Lebanon.. I served with people of all of the faiths above and like any of the books those that kill in the name of which one are in the minority.. Saying all of whatever faith is bad is the same as saying all midwives are the same as Lucy letby.. Or all doctors are the same as Shipman.. Bizarre thinking I don't think the other poster meant all Muslims when they posted, I think they were referring to the atrocities committed recently in Islam's name. I think that's the issue here. "When a country deny's another population of the right to reproduce, or further their population by taking away medical intervention is seen as genocide. Many new born babies have died in Gaza due to not having basic medical intervention, due to their medical facilities being targeted for destruction. Those who want to argue that their is not a genocide, go up this thread and you will see a poster who gives the definitions of genocide, and has not seen by there own post that a genocide is not being committed I refer to. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group. This has been on going in Gaza from day one of this conflict, many new borns have died due to medical facilities being bombed. So yes genocide is being committed and why are others denying this, it should be opposed not celebrated or excused, why because who is next once we let a country kill another population in mass then who is next Lebanon sorry already been there haven't they, Syria sorry already been there, Iran no been their. Whos next, warmongers never happy unless their taking other lives. " You're making up your own definition. If your definition of true and it is indeed this black and white, why isn't the ICJ making this argument?

Is the above what you refer to. I do not see what the issue is as you posted the definition. Because it is used as proof of genocide and you posted the definition I just used the definition to show how genocide is being committed. Now if you want to discuss that, you will be discussing said definition with yourself as you posted it first, I used your definition as proof of genocide.

To be a little clearer: "Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group" This (not genocide) is not defined as "causing conditions through warfare that makes it difficult for babies to be born", which is what you suggest. It refers to acts such as forced sterilisation (like what happened recently in Greenland), the forcible termination of pregnancy (like happens in China with Uighurs). Moreover, it demands an action with a specific intention to reduce births (there is nothing to suggest this). You say that a genocide is happening in Gaza because childbirth is more difficult during times of war. Well, duh. It is. But the population of Gaza had increased over the past year. So clearly people are, in fact, having babies and lots of them. You're either deliberately or inadvertently expanding the definition of one test of genocide to include any war that makes childbirth more difficult.

There were better ways to have dealt with Hamas.. but, nooooo let's do it the way it's been done " Hamas like any terrorist group need to raise money, and they cannot hide their money under their beds, they need to bank it. Sanction the banks who keep Hamas money. Hang on no profit their, well 20 30 million but I know other groups who will make billions from selling guns bullets bombs airplaness, better to do that and convince the population this is the way to go.

"You're making up your own definition. If your definition of true and it is indeed this black and white, why isn't the ICJ making this argument? They have Hamas and Israel have arrest warrants from the ICJ against them have they not. " Not for genocide. Nor are they found guilty (yet), they are wanted for trial. https://www.icc-cpi.int/news/situation-state-palestine-icc-pre-trial-chamber-i-rejects-state-israels-challenges "The Chamber considered that there are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity, from at least 8 October 2023 to 20 May 2024." There are clearly horrors unleashed upon Palestinians in Gaza. Israel had a case to answer. There is a real possibility of war crimes (which have not yet been demonstrated). There is no evidence of genocide. The only ruling in the case brought by South Africa is that SA have a right to bring a case and that Israel should take steps to prevent conditions that could amount to genocide. So no. The ICJ has not found genocide to date, nor has it issued any arrest warrants for the crime of genocide.

Without me you would be nothing and vice versa. Which sums things up." Also from the same publisher and article you quote from in November 2024. "The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued multiple warrants on Thursday for those involved in the ongoing Israel-Gaza war. This included warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister Yoav Gallant and a Hamas official. The court has accused them of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the war in Gaza, which followed Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack." As you can see, in the second paragraph it says the court has "accussed" them, not tried or convicted them. So until such time as due process has been served they have not been found guilty and may never be found guilty. These charges are very difficult to prove. That's all the other poster is saying when he has been pointing out his incredibly difficult genocide is to prove as an offence in law. Innocent until proven guilty should still be applied but not necessarily true in this age of trial by social media. Mrs x

"Looking at the satellite images of Gaza if that was Israels precision targeting I’ll take them on at darts. Unfortunately I think the widespread destruction is a deliberate attempt by the Zionists to move the Palestinians out of Gaza by making it uninhabitable " I did look into the housing architecture in Gaza, materials used, building techniques and layouts. From what I could find, the majority of housing was of poor construction and materials, not that many structures would survive a bombing run from a fighter jet! I do think the ground assault would have played into the destruction of many buildings, with Hamas using homes as cover, it wouldn't take much to bring down a block and take away the advantage Hamas would have had in an urban environment they knew like the back of their hands. If the ceasefire can get to phase 3, the outcome of that will be superior housing and utilities. The challenge will be preventing Hamas using the buildings as munition dumps, hideaways and tunnelling underneath. Peace is such a long way off.
