Hi all..

Don't jump down my throat and say I'm from the south so I'm conservative etc as I've never voted for any of these clowns..

To the point.....

Is it just me who is seriously concerned with the run away hair brain ideas that daily come out of our so called leaders!?

My main concern as my mums 88..

Is the absolutely disgusting way the oaps constantly get spun over as if it wasnt for there generations paying there stamp etc there wouldn't be an nhs/social help which has now become a joke for those who work watching there hard earnt cash being given away to all the lazy fucks who toss it off all week laughing there heads off getting more money than us mugs who goto work..

But labour want to give them all houses and more money..

Build on our ancient green belts..

They don't seem to realise there fucking us all royale by taking our wages out of our pockets..

Why are they trying to change everything in one go??

They should start with fixing the roads etc..

You get my point!?

I could go on forever

But it's a political based topic, heavily political based in fact. It will be moved there shortly by mods regardless.

I am not commenting on the OP as I don't agree with pitting one set of people against the other but that's a bit misleading, we all get free healthcare with a GP.

A pensioner has paid into the system for many years before they can get a pension so a perk of free presciptions and bus pass is not the gotcha you may think it is.

It was just a casual chat guys..

I didn't say those who cant work for various reason it's the ones who choose to bounce the system..

I remember when covid started I was in the bracket of self employed and hadn't submitted tax return..

Didn't owe a penny but along with many others was left in ruins..

But some of the other builders I know got lump sums 4.5.6.k at a time..25k in total..

Just by having a day off a week meant they earnt less on the books...

At this time employers are not paying wages to keep up with the cost of living, so wages are so low in some jobs the worker has to apply for housing benefit and some top up cash to just get through the month, who pays this extra cash to working people.

Us through our taxes, we supplement business who are not paying their workers enough cash.

There are more in work on benefits than those who do not work and claim benefits,

You wouldn't have got that pension if you hadn't paid into the system.

So what we need is for employers especially the big ones to pay their staff a decent wage. Then people can stop dissing people for claiming UC to top up their wages.

Sounds reasonable to me

I think both conservatives and labour have shared it for last 15/20 yrs??

Yeah I do pay tax but pretty much as a one man band sparks my expenses balance of the tax and I get a rebate later...

Like alot of poor people if your tax return wasnt in when lock down happened they wouldn't help you..

I mean i got off likely as some peoples business went down the pan and they lost everything...

I was just very hungry and lost my flat

No, it has been just Conservatives for the last 14 years. Labour got in this July.

We all have to pay more tax if we earn more wages, that's how it works.

Being poor has nothing to do with not having a tax return to give in.

If you had only just started being self employed there was no way for the Gov of knowing what you earned as you had no proof, but I think they had UC that you could have claimed, obviously who knows if that was enough to live on not knowing your situation but there was help out there

It's radical I know..

Ironically we might need less civil servants to administer such benefits but maybe they can be moved to cut down on the asylum mess or even dare I say it..tax evasion by the higher strata of society..
