Any thoughts here?

Will FF/FG have enough for coalition ?

Where will SF land ?

Will the independents and the new right leaning parties make a showing ?

Not as big as UK/US elections but very interesting nonetheless

Any other Irish people here nerdy enough to look at the politics forum?

Ff to leaf s coalition of ff/fg/social Democrats with a slightly more centerist policy.

SF may need to become less republican and reinvent as a left wing opposition with pbp and labour

Anti establishment vote will increase especially in light of GP policies and smugness, can't call it a right wing vote, people are passed off with immigration and housing

How much does America have an effect on the elections?

Apparently immigration was the primary concern of only 6%

Yeah it's looking like SF won't get the transfers and Martin will be Taoiseach of a government looking like a bag of liquorish all-sorts

I wonder that myself. There is an underbelly of support for trump here but how it affects the voting intentions I have no idea

Not sure about the Trump effect but US multinational tax take would be a concern if Trump lowers taxes in the US.

In the past many Irish Americans would be Democrats but in the past 20 years there has been a major shift to Republicans

Immigration, Housing and Health the big issues

FG/FF coalition with support from Social Democrats. Greens having a poor showing which is a pity despite a sizeable minority saying the govt dud not do enough on green issues!

Mary Lou will not have her crowning moment but will make plenty of noise if she emerges with most seats.

Good showing for tbe SocDems for sure. After seeing what happened to the greens, them and labour will run a mile from joining the government, I think the independents will prop up a Micheal Martin Taoiseach..... But as they say there's a long way to go
