A new poll has found the great man is more popular in the UK than Two Tier Kier Starmer. Although he can't become US President there is no legal reason he couldn't move over here and be an excellent PM.

Would you vote for him ?

Are you impressed by his extraordinary achievements in business, or bitter and twisted at his great wealth ?

If he came over here and got involved with Reform UK, he would obviously get my support. To be fair, I couldn’t see him be aligned with any other UK political party. So I hope he does it.

Although I do agree. Reform are most aligned with his agenda of greed and narcissism.

He reminds me of the perfect Bond villain although in reality, despite elements of poor personal judgement, I can't decide whether he is generally good or bad for the planet.

Perhaps when 007 confines him to another existence, we will know the truth.

Very good businessman and a top achiever. Not sure if his politics though. He calls himself a free speech absolutist. I personally like the fact that he took down left wing censorship in Twitter. But he bowed down to pressure from the Turkish government to censor things, not something a free speech absolutist would do.

Well if Trump is a man of his word…. 2 things are going to happen

1) the 60% Chinese tariffs will really affect the components in the cars (ps… it’s a lot.. about 40% of the car is Chinese)

2) the removal of the $7500 EV grant on new purchases ……

Unless we shouldn’t believe trump now?

Which would you like?

P.s do I live rent free in your head, or you just a myriad of pithy comments…

Also, the biggest enemy of free speech is the government itself. If he is going to take down stuff based on whatever the government says, he isn't an absolutist like says.

I am not saying what he did was wrong in itself. End of the day, it's a business and businesses have to respect local laws to survive. But that's not free speech absolutism.

He’s destroying X with his free for all policy as its become hate filled apparently. I’m not a member so can’t verify.

Space x will thrive if Trump supports it and to be honest it’s very impressive .

Tesla got a head start but others are catching up . Not sure that will hurt him personally as he’s taken massive cash payments out,

I think he’s a bit off the wall and not to be trusted.

I wonder if he had paid tax how successful he would have been? See the link to see the stink of tax avoidance. Madness that this is allowed.

I don't know where they explain the "tax avoidance" part. It's well known that the ultra wealthy tend to have most of their wealth in investments. If the value of their investments grow, their wealth grows. They pay taxes only when they sell the investments in profit. People like Musk, Bezos are typically major shareholders in the companies they themselves run. They don't usually sell their shares unless they really need the cash.

These rules apply to you and me too. I have investments I have maintained for over a decade now. They have grown a lot. But I am not paying taxes unless I encash the profits.

"He has a habit of thinking his speech is more important than everyone else’s….

In the last couple of months he has pissed off the Brazilians to the point they banned x, been part of the misinformation in the uk after the Southport murders…

And 3 days ago managed to piss off the Italian president….. "

The Financial Times reports that the UK will begin trialling Elon Musk’s Starlink technology in its first test of web-linked satellites to help meet the government’s ambition of providing ultrafast internet to all homes across the country

The first Starlink satellites will be deployed to provide connectivity to a few specific isolated sites, including a 12th-century abbey in the North York Moors National Park, and rescue operations in the Lake District and Snowdonia National Park, according to a government announcement on Wednesday.

The government has opted to use Starlink, a satellite constellation operated by the billionaire entrepreneur’s SpaceX company, instead of the British satellite broadband pioneer OneWeb

"He’s destroying X with his free for all policy as its become hate filled apparently.

Madness that this is allowed.

https://www.propublica.org/article/the-secret-irs-files-trove-of-never-before-seen-records-reveal-how-the-wealthiest-avoid-income-tax

But I am not paying taxes unless I encash the profits."

If you are very wealthy and are paying standard tax rates then you need new accountants.

30years ago with own my at the time relatively small company I had access to the business investment scheme which involved sending the company's cash offshore only to bring it back which resulted in a tax rate of 10% .

Schemes have become far more sophisticated since then. Most of them legal.

The likes of Lord Bamford or other wealthy billionaires don’t establish offshore trusts for fun.

Jeremy Clarkson openly admitted buying land to avoid tax. Now you know why he’s leading the marches.

An interesting point specific to Musk. If he takes an actual paid role in government that allows him to cash as many shares as he likes without paying tax on them. It’s a compensatory perk of the US government system. But he’ll of course tell everyone he’s not taking the salary as it’s the right thing to do. The voters will think he’s an angel.

“But thanks to an obscure provision called Section 1043, Musk, as a federal employee, could defer paying the capital gains tax on roughly $299.9 billion of shares (SpaceX hasn’t disclosed an exact valuation).

Once the shares are cashed the money can be reinvested into “conflict-free” diversified funds or government bonds within 60 days. The tax is deferred until new assets are sold (and would essentially be wiped out after death).”

In addition wealthy billionaires such as Musk don’t need to cash shares they can borrow against them as individuals and then claim loses on those borrowings.

It’s fun being rich isn’t it.
