I have all faith in Trump, since you have zero faith and are so worried then go sell all your shares and I will continue to buy.
All my pension funds were highly invested in oil as well and I have just cashed the last of them in, including my 25% tax free lump sums that labour are considering a reduction

During his last term Trump responded to the requests of a few oil industry investors such as his mate Koch to try and cut production as the spot prices were so low
Trump cut production with the agreement of OPEC to help his funders and oil started to increase in price. Koch is the guy who funds the Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas of super corruption fame.
Now Trump is saying he will drill baby drill to flood production and reduce prices.
Now I’m not claiming a qualification as an economist but drill baby drill for more oil will cut prices I think all agree.

Look at Rosebank... Chevron started Rosebank over 14 years ago, then back in 2012 Chevron selected people from both USA and from their North Sea rigs and put them on the Rosebank project.
Even today Rosebank is not in production, oil and gas is still not flowing from Rosebank DW/HT/HP reservoirs.
So again, you clearly have no idea what Drill baby Drill means.

If you're going to, try to make them relevant.
To pick some random examples:
Ballpoint pens can easily be made of metal. The actual balls already are.
Bicycle tyres are made of rubber, which is a plant-based material.
TV cabinets can be made of wood, like they used to be.
Fan belts / golf balls (you must like these as you put them in twice) existed before plastics were invented and can be made from natural materials.
Just because something today includes an oil derivative doesn't mean that it can't be made with other materials. |

Actually I do.
The money flows with exploration and with your obvious oil industry knowledge you will know once production starts the costs are slashed.
The inference Trump is giving his voters is therefore by your argument also is very misleading. 14 years and no oil for example.
He’s letting the people of the US believe Drill baby Drill is going to lower their oil and gas costs.
The only people who will benefit are oil companies and his friends such as Koch. They will not spend billions on too much exploration if the end oil price is forecast to be low. That’s just bad economics. It will be measured.
Being from the frozen north you will know the job loses and cost cutting for contractors in Aberdeen has been fierce. A lot of contractors are working at a third of their former rates.
So much pain is being felt that the Chinese are now picking up oil related companies for bargain prices.
Due to oil prices being low mobile rig operators who support a lot of this exploration globally offshore have gone to the wall or had to merge to survive. Ensco being one of the fallen. For clarity I know sod all about fracking.
It’s of benefit to the oil companies to be able to drill at will. ( environmentalists look away). Any further benefit will not be passed to those outside the industry. |
