For many years Germany was Europe's economic powerhouse and the world looked on in envy at its Iconic brands such as Mercedes, BMW and Jurgen Klinsmann.
Now its Government is in disarray and may have to postpone new elections as the country has run out of ballot paper !
Is Deutschlands downfall a lesson to us all on the dangers in embracing green wokery ? |

Yes it is a lesson. Don't follow the green wokery.
As an aside, the EU now wants to buy American gas and not Russian.
The benefits of Trump showing already and he hasn't even been sworn in yet.
I've got a list of great things happening already thanks to Trump, but I'll save it just now. |

Green wokery!
A new subdivision of woke? Is anyone keeping track, I think we're at about 20-25 different distinct definitions. |

Green wokery is relayed to gender identity?
We need an entire dictionary of woke. |

I might write one. Could be a bestseller if I get Gary Lineker to endorse it. |

Imagine Europe's great manufacturing giant closing all its excellent nuclear power stations to become totally dependent on Russian oil. Helped start the Ukraine war which then pushed energy prices through the roof and crippled German industrial. Beyond insane ! |

Further addition to this is that over 100 of their MP’s have signed letter to have the AfD banned from political participation
I don’t like them but this seems wrong somehow |

I suppose Germany might have a recollection of what happened in their recent history. |

"Thank goodness the UK had the sense to leave the disastrous European Union."
Exactly
Germany has been forced to the ballot box, whole of EU struggling and once Trump comes into power and enforces tariffs countries will crumble |

If they can't beat them at the ballot box then banning them is all they have left |

They did beat them at the ballot box.
Although I'm not in favour of banning political parties like AfD, Reform, BNP ect. No matter how abhorrent they are. |

Interesting how people seem to be happy that our second biggest individual country trading partner is having issues.
If they struggle that directly affects us!
They are feeling the effects of cheaper far east manufacturing like the U.K. has been doing for decades. Sadly our governments didn’t even try to keep UK manufacturing.
I say tax the Chinese cars highly or like the EU we will be flooded with cheap imports which will undermine the likes of Nissan in Sunderland.
I believe the EU are imposing tariffs .
Watch our government sit on its hands as usual whatever the colour of the party. |

Anybody who knows Germany will be confident they'll bounce back. They have a tremendous work ethic, discipline, sense of citizenship, law abiding culture that is far ahead of most countries. They'll be OK. |

I hope so, for all of Europe's sake, but I do think they have great challenges. Manufacturing industry is so much part of the German identity and economy but it will really struggle without cheap energy. Their service sector is awful, they haven't spent enough on defence for decades, and the two party system which ruled since post WW2 is over. Even their football team is rubbish now ! |

There were a few political reasons that they didn't spend on defence. |

As Nato members they are committed to spending at least 2% of gdp on defence annually, but have never got near to that. |

The EU is crumbling, any bets on which EU member country will crumble first?
Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain?
Germany is in recession and in political upheaval but it will recover, so which will drop off the edge first 😉
