The Confederacy emerged victorious, leading to concerning implications for the future of the United States, which may not yet be fully acknowledged by its citizens.
For those who have not yet examined the proposed "concept" of a plan (922 pages) articulated by Donald Trump, and written by "The Heritage Foundation" I recommend reviewing it for further insights.

Having read a few sections of the Mandate, I'm not sure how anyone can believe that Trump is involved. Every part of it talks about how the foundation is a group of experts that can educate the president on the issues, and tell him what should be done.
Trump thinks that he's the world's greatest leader, with all the best ideas, and an infallible plan. The last thing he would want is a bunch of self-described experts telling him what to do. There's no way he will be listening to the 2025 Mandate. |

Seems slightly odd given that the only demographic where the Republicans did worse than previously was amongst white people.
Their vote went up significantly among black people, Hispanics, Asians and other ethnicities. Hardly seems likely that they were all voting for the reincarnation of the KKK. |

Interesting thoughts. The rampant zenophobia created by Trump during the election coupled with his firm desire to use tariffs to "pull up the draw bridge on the USA" may actually work in our (UK's) favour.
Are the other countries of the world, without a "special relationship" with the USA, going to put up with their hostile attitude for long? Might they not turn to Britain for their products and services? The USA did not get to be such a massive powerhouse by selling widgets to the people of Boise, Idaho.
What I struggle to understand is the cabinet chosen by Trump. None have any qualifications or experience to undetake the tasks they have been allocated.
The selection of some, e.g. Matt Gaetz shows a woeful lack of judgement, unless, the stories are true, that Trump is going to turn the DOJ into a weapon to attack Democrats and left wing media. In this role Gaetz as Attorney General will be invaluable.
In the end the American people have spoken. Their choice has been made and they must live with every aspect of it. Democracy is a wonderful system. We used it to choose Brexit. It cannot be bad. |

I think that’s actually a common misconception… most cabinet posts are not opposed, because most candidates have a modicum of experience for the posts
For example, marco Rubio, Secretary of State, he was head on the senate foreign relations committee, his question was interesting.. it went through 99-0
It only the ones that are contentious are the ones you will see a fight over.. Hegseth at defence where you needed the vice president as leader of the senate to get him through… RFK jr at health, where he is talking a lot of batshit nonsense in his hearing right now, tulsi gabbard is going to get a rough ride at DNI, matt Gaetz didn’t make it through DOJ, Kash Patel is going to get a rough ride for FBI director

It was quite annoying today as RFK jr, Gabbards and Patels hearing’s were all going on at the same time so it was hard keeping up with them all
Patel was slimy enough that he might actually get his FBI confirmation… RFK flopped around enough on past positions where he might get through at health

She shouldn't - but that doesn't mean she won't. You can only hope.
Patel is still the main worry. The FBI is an incredibly powerful and pervasive organisation.
For it to be run as an arm of the state - even unofficially - is to risk comparison with the Stasi. And the FBI has vastly more surveillance power than they ever did.
American citizens now have only one real, remaining defence against their government abusing them; judges with integrity and courage.
Let's hope there are enough of them left. |

The US did the right thing, electing President Trump. He is just what they need right now, to unravel America from the mess it is in and make their nation great again.
What I like about him is, he acts quickly on the promises he makes, he puts the US and its people first, he won’t be starting any ridiculous wars, and he likes the UK - a real Royalist too.
Here the Labour Party turned down Nigel Farages offer to mediate between the UK and the Trump government. But Milliband, seriously? Probably better they send King Charles?? |
