Trump wins, he plays golf for 2 years then resigns on health grounds, Vance takes over and the democrats win in 2028,

I think it’ll be a Kamala victory. Possibly flipping a couple of republican strong holds.

I will, however, watch for the “Red Mirage” and see how early Trump declares victory before all the votes are counted and completed.

He might do that, however he isn’t the president this time, any violence by disgruntled republicans will be met with the full force of the police and military

There has also been a LOT of republicans who have flipped this time and voted Kamala, so it’s very likely we’re about to see Republican civil war.

Looked at the polls, seems like Harris has lost much of the lead she had a month ago.

Too close to call.

Yes, Trump is sure to reject the result if he loses but I think that Will soon blow over. The smart Republicans will want to move on from Trump this time.

Both, senior republican politicians have gone on record saying they’ve voted for the democrat nominee and a lot of former republican civilian voters switching to democrats.

The sentiment being they want Trump and all of his cronies out of the Republican Party so they can properly challenge the Democrats.

Agreed , they will distance themselves immediately, that why he has to win, otherwise he really is in trouble

No, I don’t think so. January 6th was a full on wake up call to both Republicans and civilians as to just how bad things have gotten in the Republican Party, as well as politics in general.

I think we’ll get a lot of venom fired out from the very far right fringes, then it’ll settle down, Trump goes to prison on account of his 34 convictions and that’ll be the end of that.

Is there an advantage to making your candidate look like he/she might win by making the polls look good. Or just that a poll of Fox news viewers is going to be overwhelmingly republican voters, as an example?

fake polls do exist. Many investigations have shown that foreign countries and other bad actors spread misleading polls to sway public opinion and try to influence elections.

Of course there are rogue polls but I'm referring to major polls carried out for mainstream media by well established polling companies. They may not always be right but they're not part of some grand conspiracy!

The now “infamous” Iowa poll…

A copy of things…

A) the person who did it is about as good a pollster as anyone in America… she has gotten the last 6 outcomes in her state right within 1 point

B) when in 2016 everyone was predicting Clinton would win the state.. and she came out with a poll that had Trump winning the state by 7.. and everyone rubbished her.. said it was an outlier….

Trump won the state….. by 7

C) no one was calling her a trump hater or left wing when she produced a poll 4 months ago when it was Trump vs Biden.. and that one had Trump up by 17!!

So… NOW… she’s a leftist

Rather than looking at the headline… it’s more interesting if you go “under the hood”

So… Iowa women at the moment outvoting Iowa men by 10%

Trump is leading men by 14, Harris is leading women by 20

Harris is outperforming.. well… crushing trump with independent registered women, and older women…. Which could play into something else that has happened between the Trump Biden poll, and the Trump Harris poll

Iowa’s Republican state legislators have brought in a passed a 6 week abortion ban….and it’s one of the restrictive in the nation….

Only exceptions are “R”.. “I” … and life threatening health of the mother.. and only then when they are in “immediate danger” … at 6 weeks.. if there is a heart beat detected.. then it is immediate danger of death to mother only!

And there are more and more horrific stories coming out of states with 6 weeks bans coming out where hospitals and doctors are afraid of treating pregnant women, and women losing their lives when there were procedures that would have made them preventable…

So… potentially a female backlash going on…

So if … and It would be a huge if …..this pollster is right… if Iowa is a domino… then look at Kansas , look at Nebraska, heck.. even looking at Missouri and Florida where there are state abortion issues on the ballot

Never trust a person who promises to do tomorrow what they had the power to do yesterday.

I lose IQ points everytime I hear comrade harris speak. Utterly unlikable and totally incoherent.

She'll probably win and trump's lot will kick off.

You should go for it while we’ve still got time to place a bet.

You are the Jim Cramer of the Fab politics forum. Whatever you predict I just go “Inverse Fabio” as it’s guaranteed the opposite will happen.

If you ever predict any kind of win for a Republican I’ll have to get the smelling salts out.

Okay…In no particular order….

Arizona.. Trump (democrats gallego beats keri lake in the senate race)

Georgia… Trump

Michigan… Harris

Nevada…. Harris

North Carolina… Harris

Pennsylvania… Harris

Wisconsin… Harris

If trump is in trouble in Iowa.. he will be in trouble in Kansas, he could lose the whole of Nebraska and not just Nebraska 2!

The house flips from republican to democratic control….

The senate flips from democrat to republican control… although I would love it if ted Cruz were his Texas senate seat.. Texas is still the blue whale for democrats!

I think the famous Iowa poll should be treated with caution simply because its so out of line with all the others. Another Iowa poll last week gave Trump a ten point lead there for example.

If the final result is anything but a close thing then it will be a disaster for the polling industry.

If the final result is anything but a close thing then it will be a disaster for the polling industry."

We will know the confidential, well informed, thinking if, or when, the National Guard are mobilised to protect Voting facilities on Nov 6th (Our time). Unless he wins, Trump MUST try for a coup. It is his last and his only hope of staying out of Jail.

Trump vs Harris! Seriously? It's come to this? So is this it for the US? Will history books see this day as the beginning of the end of US world dominance? What will the new World Order look like? The signs are not encouraging.

It is a depressing choice but I think the States are fine and will come through whoever wins. Strong economic growth, energy independence, world leader in Tech, still by far the #1 military superpower. I'd be more worried about Europe long term tbh.

Maybe. Domestically the US may well prosper. But on the world stage? I wonder if US credibility is diminished by a Trump or Harris. For us in the UK it's also a dilemma. Do we fall in-line with the US (as usual) or seek alternative alliances? If so, who?

Americans have done better economically under Biden than Trump?

It’s a shame that Harris hasn’t been able to articulate this point and convince anyone. Maybe she would have been way out in front by now.

Really?

From what I’ve seen Harris clearly knows zero about economics. Whenever she is asked about it she looks totally petrified and tries to change the subject asap.

It’s not really surprising, given that the only business job she has ever had was a stint working in McDonalds (allegedly, and she has never been able to produce any evidence of that claim).

You've contracted yourself there. Trump has core visions. But they won't change the country for better.

Fraud, sexually abusing women, racial slurs, giving himself tax breaks. Not really going to help anyone but himself.

"

You're moving Harris with Trump. Trump was in charge for four years before and failed to do anything positive. Harris hasn't been president before.

I see two risks of a Harris victory for the UK:

1. The British Left used to be anti-American. Now they think they live in a US colony so whatever Harris does in the US today Labour will be doing in the UK tomorrow. The Labour front bench will be drooling all over Harris.

2. Harris will be “continuity forever wars” so expect more of the same in Ukraine. Ukraine will lose sooner or later, notwithstanding that the US is happy for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to be killed fighting its proxy war with Russia.

Best case scenario then is that Harris runs away like in Afghanistan and goes and finds another war somewhere further away to fight. Equally she could want Europe to step in and pick up the fight. With low IQ fools like Lammy in charge, not to mention Macron and Scholz, I wouldn’t put it past Europe to do what the US tells them.

The easiest example to give you is you are talking to others in the UK about ELon Musk on a podcast.

The second and most obvious is his ownership of X, followed by starlink, space X, Tesla, being present on the world stage and his access to leaders.

I think there more chance of left wing activist riots if Trump wins. He's already been subject of three real assassination attempts, one of which killed people. Quite amazing how little that is even mentioned now.

It’s America, everyone has guns,

Well not everyone! And only one candidate has been shot at, that's just a fact whoever you support."

By a fellow republican, maybe more people hate trump? I honestly don’t know,

"It’s jaw dropping the things there talking about the left won’t wach it because it’s far too uncomfortable for them too many facts on it

Yes, the UK got a mention too.

Musk has no influence in the UK,

What makes you say he doesn't have influence in the UK?

He doesn’t, unless you can’t give me examples of where he does?

The easiest example to give you is you are talking to others in the UK about ELon Musk on a podcast.

The second and most obvious is his ownership of X, followed by starlink, space X, Tesla, being present on the world stage and his access to leaders."

Why does the give him any influence in the UK? He is just a very rich business man, do you think he had any influence on the last UK election?

Was the mention about perception or facts? I do wonder what reporting on the UK looks like in other countries, how they see us.

He mentioned people getting sent to prison for social media posts while serious criminals were getting released early from prison, both of which are true.

"Elon Musk making late appearance on Rogan and Joe R endorsing Trump. Can't do him any harm with the undecided young male voters 🤷‍♂️."

Will they actually go out and vote

Last minute endorsement is all well and good..but in a lot of states voter registration is done!

Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala and links to how to register drove 750k swifties to register to vote

Well we will see if the “bro” strategy was a good one to counter all the women they basically ignored!

Anyway.. if you are staying up to watch the coverage… you are going to hear two phrases used a lot.. so if you don’t see results straight away just be aware of what they mean…

“Too early to call “… it means polls have closed.. it’s not necessarily that a state contest is close… it just means they don’t have enough voting data to make a call either way at that point!

“Too close to call “ … that’s where they have data but not enough to definitively declare who the winner is likely to be.. so for example which parts of a state have declared figures, how much is that the total of what they have.. percentage share of votes ect…

It’s not like in the uk where they count all and then give you a result…. They will likely update figures on a hourly basis so you know what is happening and what they likely have left to count

Funny enough… just spoke to a friend who has kids at Michigan state ( my Alma mata) Kamala was there on Sunday night for a late rally!

Anyway.. the kids… they are turning out! Apparently 2 hour queues at a lot of the voting sites

Anyway I can’t be arsed watching the tv tonight so it’s an early night (with msnbc on in the background on my phone)

P.s … if a result for the house race NY-03 comes past.. put up the result in here (that’s my house race!) mine is a swingey district!

P.s if the results for Georgia and North Carolina come early.. and Harris wins both.. anyone with my number has permission to call and wake me up!!! lol

Otherwise I’ll get up at 6/7 am (got tomorrow off work!)

Tempted to stay up to watch but in all likelihood the results will be delayed through recounts and allegations of fraud so actual "winner" won't be declared for days.

Looks like Lammy expressing his opinions, and the Labour activist campaigning are going to need some grovelling to correct.

Labour foreign policy at its best.

"Okay…In no particular order….

"

How’s that working out?

I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing James O Brian have a mental breakdown if Trump wins.

He's still not quite over his Brexit issues yet either

Sorry Fabio I think Kamala did OK but the Dems only have themselves to blame. Allowing Biden to carry on for so long when his cognitive decline was obvious killed their chances.

Tough times ahead for American women, the less well off, the environment, etc. Good times for oil companies and billionaires.

As always 'it's the economy, stupid'. Also sounds like abortion didn't play as a huge issue, the whole 'women will win it for Harris' narrative looks completely wrong.

Just seen the news. Got to say I am shocked at so many Americans voting Trump.

He represents the worst of the 1970s and that’s what we’ll get. Especially if he does change the term limits as he has stated.

Good luck America. You are going to need it.

Hopefully American women will be safer in their changing rooms and their sports teams than they have been under Biden and Harris.

And poorer people saw a very significant increase in their wages under Trump when he was President before, hopefully that will be the same again.

Cheaper energy will make all Americans wealthier, just as expensive energy is making British people poorer.

You're right, there's likely to be a rise in transphobic attitudes coming from the top.

America looks like it's now run by a man who sexually abuses women, and who wants to take away their rights to choose what to do with their own bodies. Tough times.

"

He's not following the upturn in the economy due to the Obama administration, so no, they aren't likely. Trump might be able to remove access to healthcare for millions of Americans this time around.

"

Very true. But Trump is big on prioritising oil company profits. But unlike our politicians, who don't give a fuck about climate change, he simply doesn't understand it.

I'm not even sure if it's a love of trump. More of a love of America and patriotism. Mix that with a dislike of the "best candidate" the dems had to offer. Watch the leftist media turn on harris in the coming days. They're going to rip right into the party also. I predict CNN and the NY times will be the most scathing in their attacks on the cackling, babbling, unelected and hugely unlikable (soon to be forgotten) Kamala....wotsername....

This isn’t a victory for Republicans this is a MAGA victory. The two are not the same.

If you’re a young American woman or gay, trans or any other leaning your rights are going to be slowly curtailed.

If you’re an ethnic minority you need to order your suitcases now. The police can’t cope with that number of planned deporting so it may well be the army/ national guard.

Think about that if this promise comes to pass. Troops roaming the streets looking for Mexicans and other immigrants.

The religious backers of Trump are not as violent as Muslim extremists but they are equally as fanatical . Evolution is not a thing to be believed and contraception will be restricted if not banned all together, if the extremists have their way.

Trumps threats to gag the media are a very big worry.

Global warming will no longer be a thing . The Koch family will be jubilant. The drill baby drill isn’t the worry, it’s the lack of restrictions to stop pollute baby pollute.

Celebrate if you like, but I have a lot of family in the US who are split between Dem and original Republicans. They are openly discussing and some actually planning emigrating they are so worried.

This is not a real Republican victory which would have been fine. A MAGA win should worry the rest of the democratic free world.

From an old fashioned democrat who I know well he predicted a Trump win months ago by saying openly, there is no way the American man will vote in large numbers for a black woman, no matter what her policies were.

Racism and misogyny are very much alive in the US

I sincerely hope that there will be adults left in the room to stop project 2025 and the more extreme plans he has voiced.
