Prince William renting out illegal mouldy homes
Jump to: Newest in thread
A number of rental properties owned by Prince William fail to meet the minimum legal energy efficiency standards for landlords, it has been revealed. An investigation by The Mirror and Channel 4 Dispatches has found that as many as one in seven of William's inherited Duchy of Cornwall's residential rental properties have the lowest Energy Performance Certificate ratings of F or G.
This has meant some of his tenants are at risk of fuel poverty, and are living in hard to heat homes that are riddled with damp and black mould.
It comes as the taxpayer is funding a £369m renovation of Buckingham Palace. |

We lived in (the Duchy of) Cornwall for 30 years and quickly became aware of the abuses and poor quality of the Duchy Estate.
Whenever a Duchy house came on the open market it usually required a complete renovation. |

"Was any tax paid when it was passed on? As in what they want to to do to the farmers ..."
It wasn't passed on. The Duchy belongs to the Prince of Wales. That used to be Charles, and now it's William. It never belonged to Charles, and it doesn't belong to William now, it belongs to the Prince of Wales. |

I used to do EPCs and many remote rural properties had very low ratings.
One I did only had open fireplaces and no mains electricity or gas. I think it scored 1 on the rating.
It was up for rent and the agent said he had lots of potential tenants and I shouldn't be suprised how many wanted to live a rural life. |
