“Gray had alienated some of her political colleagues, who accused her of “control freakery” and creating a “bottleneck” within No 10 that had delayed policy decisions and appointments”
Won’t be missed then. |

"She's resigned so she can take up another job with Kier Starmer... 🙄
Which makes it a non story.
Or were people hoping she left as was disgusted at Labour’s short stint in govt.
It's rhetorical!" it’s actually a big story. Going from chief of staff and being paid more than Starmer to be an ‘envoy to the regions’ is a massive demotion/fall from grace after just 3 months. If you cannot see that, you are very blinkered. |

Sue Gray has quit her role as Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's chief of staff, saying she "risked becoming a distraction".

Do you believe that? I posted several weeks ago about Gray's influence calling into question Starmer's control.

Of course not but I do think it might be a good idea to raise the bar of acceptable governance and not give out get of jail cards because it wasn't as bad as the tories in a persons opinion.....

That is just polite face saving Whitehall speak. It seems her clashes with Simon Case and her clashes with SpAds, and her clashes with Ministers, and perceptions around her holding the reins rather than Starmer meant her card was marked, deserved or otherwise. It is rather embarrassing for her and Starmer. |

We are also only 3 months in … plenty of time to prove they are all as bad as each other |

The position is part time and was created for her, it is a massive demotion, due to her high salary which is more than the P.M.
She was disliked and caused issues, so instead of sacking her, she now has a little role with no power, she will go for good soon.
For me it is a pity labour has come to this, the workers party now a corporation party lapping to the rich and bathing in their money and gifts.
R.I.P the Labour Party once the champions of the working people, now in the hands of the 1%. |

"Eventually it will dawn on their detractors that they will be in power for another four and a half years. All this Labour are imploding nonsense is irrelevant."
Sadly it will dawn on labour voters that they have voted for another 4 and a half years of the same old same old. |

"Eventually it will dawn on their detractors that they will be in power for another four and a half years. All this Labour are imploding nonsense is irrelevant." why is it irrelevant? It’s actually very relevant. If they go down the route of PM after PM, they will actually achieve very little, just like the Tories did during the last parliament.
I honestly believe that Labour don’t actually like being in government and do everything they can to not be there….either that or they are incredibly incompetent |

Who are these other PM’s who are in your head?
Just because you honestly believe something doesn’t make it true and is frankly ridiculous. |

Just a made up job to sweeten the fact that she was technically sacked. "
Indeed, but £170k a year for a glorified tea lady isn't a bad gig. |

Just because you honestly believe something doesn’t make it true and is frankly ridiculous." Starmer won’t be there in 18 months. That will mean another PM will be put in place. There are not any competent candidates in the Governement, therefore that will probably lead to another clown taking the reins…. Just like what happened under the Tories. |

No doubt the ladies by his side who were slapping him on the back a few weeks ago had knives up their sleeves just in case he stumbled and will soon be fighting each other for his job . Politics is a dirty game all climbing over each other for the poison chalice . It makes no difference what party they’re in it’s all about the power game and the 15 minutes of fame . |

This government is a joke, either a funny one or not so, depending how you stand on things.
There are still a lot of people who are desperate for them to succeed, no matter what. They will not be laughing. Then there is the rest of us, lol.
I just wish they would bring back Spitting Image (again.) We already have a puppet Prime Minister, Charlie boy is king, then there is all the guff surrounding Prince Harry and his mrs. They would have a field day! |
