Two brothers have been sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison for operating an illegal streaming service that allowed viewers to watch Sky and other premium channels

You wouldn't even get them sentences for rioting, death by driving or stabbing.
The law is owned and it protects corporation as well as government more then it will you!
Just think about that

“They were believed to have thousands of customers, generating hundreds of thousands of pounds in revenue and depriving legitimate tv providers in excess of £1million”
Heavy sentence compared to baroness mone defrauding the uk taxpayer of £203 million, or Robert Jenrick signing off a Tory donors planning application early to save £45m infrastructure levy, neither of whom have been prosecuted. .
There must be thousands of comparisons you could draw on |

Quite true, and if someone breaks into your home with people inside, compared to a bank with no one inside?
Even better the last couple of weeks, get mugged and wait for years to get to court... now you can get fast tracked when it suits the government and their backers |

Agreed! Look at the MP that was claiming her mothers mortgage on expenses but declared too mentally unstable to stand trial. We really could go on for weeks! |

I remember a case years ago when a barrister was caught not buying a train ticket. His small village didn't have gates so he just tapped out at liverpool street and paid a full days oyster fare.
When caught he had been doing it for
years and owed the rail company 25k. He was given the choice to pay back the money or go to prison.
He instantly paid back the money and the barr banned him for a year!
In my opinion his crime is greater than the average burgler or thief. He was a barrister so he knew he was breaking the law. He also had the money to pay the fare but chose not too.
His crime did not come from poverty, lack of education, environment etc it came from greed |
