2 12 year olds in the dock

“One of the 12 year old boys pleaded guilty to two charges of violent disorder at Manchester City Magistrates Court on Monday over two separate incidents in the city as the disorder spread to other towns and cities throughout the country.
The court heard he kicked a bus and was seen handing a rock to another youth as a group gathered on 31 July outside a Holiday Inn hotel housing asylum seekers.
He was also filmed by police kicking the window of a vape shop and throwing a missile at a police van during the disorder in the city centre on 3 August.”
Wonder what the punishment will be |

If the parents were in the dock it would be far more effective |

Arson is rightly dealt with to a higher severity, not sure if one of the 27 arrested at the time (or will follow) were the same age or set the fire..? |

Assuming, of course, that each of the boys knows who their parents are.
The parents (if there are any) obviously don't care anyway."
At least one of the boys had both parents with him in court |

Spare the Rod and spoil the child.
Bring back the cane in schools and stop this namby pamby nonsense of parents no longer being allowed to discipline their own children.
We are seeing the results now of decades of Nanny state failure to discipline bad behaviour at a young age. Then they grow up to be undisciplined adults who gave never had to account or be punished properly for bad behaviour. |

The cane never did anything for the behaviour of children except teach children violence was an effective way of handling stressful situations. It did however provide sadists with a handy outlet for their abhorent condition. |

I agree parents should be able to discipline their children but where do we draw the line on level of severity? I don’t care what anyone says, sometimes a smack has proven necessary. But when does a smack become something more serious? Who decides?
I do not agree with corporal punishment in school under any circumstances. |

"It's about time the parents were held accountable too. That might get a bit of parental responsibility. Little shits
Are you a parent? If so how old are your kid(s)?"
Yes and their age isn't your concern however they are adults who have never been arrested for rioting...or anything else for that matter |

The authorities need to treat everyone the same. The authorities did remand that Labour councillor and convicted a couple of asian lads but they still haven't done much to those two arse holes that attacked police at Manchester airport. That's something that really needs to change, even more so than bringing immigration down. |

It's a much more complex case, I'd rather they did it properly and locked them up than rush it and miss something..

It's been argued that these right wing thugs are getting more lenient treatment than others, including those charged with terrorism and other offences. To get people 'treated the same', as you put it, would likely mean increasing the punishments of these recent criminals. |

"How harshly treated where the people who tore down statues causing many thousands of pounds of damage?
I don't recall any of them getting prison sentences, but I could be wrong."
I believe the four people charged with pulling down the Colston statue in Bristol were found not guilty of criminal damage.
Can't say I know for any other instances. |

Indeed. Try planning a peaceful environmental protest. Way harsher sentence than race hate themed rioting. |

It would have been the birch when I Was a twelve year old.
Wouldn't have happened, though, as it was a deterrent to all but paramount idiots.

It's a good point and I don't hear that the govt is putting prisons in their building plan |

Probably going to be contracted out to private companies. The tax payer will still foot the bill to these companies and for them to turn a profit expect to see numbers of prisoners go up and up. People getting harsh sentences for relatively low value crimes. Shoplifting, TV license evasion and posting spicy memes on the Internet. The higher the number of inmates, the higher the profit margins for these companies.
Almost as if it was planned. |

Hamoud Al-Soaimi, 21, of Byker, was convicted of three counts of sexual assault and assaulting a child under 13 by penetration and given a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was also made subject of a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, handed a lifetime restraining order while he will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register 10 years.
Let's see what these two 12 year olds get. |

The bloke were on about was also an Iraqi refugee. Yes we're singling his one case recent out but then so too are the authorities with these kids.
Why are people without convictions, housewives, grandmothers, and kids turning violent? Authorities need to confront that question because it will lead to them losing their power eventually. |

The child could have mental health issues that require intervention locking parents up won't solve any issues the child has |
