I'm not.
& I don't have ancestry here, but I was born here.
2 questions.
If you kicked me out, where would you want me to go? (My folks were from different global locations)
And how would your life improve because of my absence?
2 factors that might be in my favour to stay here are :
- my tax bills could fund a small nation
- I'm an atheist, (though that could go against me as perhaps it would be preferable if I were a Christian.) |

We are in a cul de sac and the little uns are often out on their bikes and scooters and as it was when I was their age one of the old blokes warns them about cars, now it's myself..
Lived down south and it was the same there, not everyone knew each other if course but people still look after each other in their vicinity.. |

Nope the thread is about someone being proud to be an extremist. Then people’s reaction got them called out for intolerance (the implied point being “lefties” are ironically intolerant. My point stands. Extremism is evil and has caused untold suffering regardless of which end of the spectrum it sits. That is demonstrably true and historically accurate. |

Surely being on this website means that you are more liberal minded than authoritarian right wing minded?
Sites like this and the Clubs would be shut down in a heartbeat under any form of truly far right government as our behaviour is diametrically opposed to far right values.

I said, don't compromise your views or centrism. Don't "join a side". If those around you are shouting, then you need to shout loudest of all.
After we finished our pints and had left, I did think to myself, if most folks are centrist, why isn't the Lib-Dems the most dominant party ? You'd think they would be by default, in that case. Though they did do well at the election.

I said, don't compromise your views or centrism. Don't "join a side". If those around you are shouting, then you need to shout loudest of all.
After we finished our pints and had left, I did think to myself, if most folks are centrist, why isn't the Lib-Dems the most dominant party ? You'd think they would be by default, in that case. Though they did do well at the election.

I've been told I'm a thug and racist because I don't support illegal immigration. The world's gone mad. My reply to the person accusing me was, they should protest to get the border checks removed at airports and ports so we could just let anyone in. Somehow they in their tiny mind saw that as different, the mind boggles. |

Turns out it is simply the largest (or greatest) land mass in the British isles. That led onto the explanation you give |

Completely correct. I think the other poster is mixing up the UK with the British isles. I only discovered this myself ages ago when I googled why is the word great in great Britain. Turns out it is simply the largest (or greatest) land mass in the British isles. That led onto the explanation you give"
An additional problem is words being used interchangeably.
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland = political
Republic of Ireland = political
Great Britain = technically geographic but sometimes used to describe the country
Ireland = technically geographic but sometimes used to describe the country |

Wrong, otherwise many could not move across borders, just because you are a convicted criminal does not stop you legally crosding a border. If they have breached the licence conditions or absconded prior to conviction or escaped prison then then should be intercepted. |
