The reality of the situation is that it's Donors who make the choice of who gets to run as they finance the campaign
Harris will inherit whatever was donated to Biden (before he was abandoned and tossed aside) and I'd imagine it would be very difficult for any other hopefuls to build a war chest given the short notice to really challenge
