I think we can predict what he's saying with a pretty strong level of certainty.

1. Ranting about foreigners.

2. Looking confused/outraged when his bullshit is called out.

3. More ranting about foreigners.

“” Rishi Sunak has indicated that young people might face restrictions on access to finance or driving licences if they refuse to do national service, as he faced a TV quizzing from voters.

Asked during a BBC Question Time special what sanctions people could face for declining to take part in the Conservative policy of compulsory national service for all 18-year-olds, the prime minister pointed to “driving licences, or the access to finance, all sorts of other things””

Perhaps the majority of normal thinking people just wanted to hear about real politics as opposed the usual anti-foreigner, anti-immigrant, anti EU, Pied Piper fantasies that Farage normally talks about.

It is just so alarming and testament to how low our education standards have fallen that some people still want to hear the populist nonsense that Farage gobs off about.

It was said about UKiP and it was said about the Brexit Party - but really it is all about Garage. He just shouts simple politics in the direction of simple people.

One way to make something more popular is to ban it. This snub of Farage might ironically win him more support.

One way to increase viewership of something 'taboo' is to keep it off the air. Frankie goes to Hollywood with two tribes, the spy catcher book and sex pistols with God save the queen in 1977 only served to increase popularity. That's the problem with censorship and cancel culture.....if the person in question is so wrong about something then let them be wrong and take down his or her argument with reasoned dialogue. Let them make idiots of themselves and beat them with logic and reason.

Keeping idiots like farage off the stage doesn't help. Allow all party leaders to be questioned in the same way.

That's one way of looking at it.

What do the Labour and Conservative parties say that will resonate with "simple people"? Labour didn't say much of anything, and Conservatives seem to be bleating about security and tinkering around with NI.

A populist understands grievance and hate and plays into that. Where the populist left taps into politics of envy, the populist right taps into xenophobia. And parties ignore this anger and resentment at their peril, because SOMEONE will mop up these votes.

A British plumber competing with a much cheaper one from overseas will be just as angry as an employee being exploited by a fat cat boss. Both harbour resentment that can be tapped into by the right or left respectively.

He is ahead in polls but probably they look at those with plenty of seats as they are currently representing their people. Apparently there is another one next week but don't think it's quite the same hence why he wanted to be on last night. I have not watched it yet so hope it's better than the one I did see where Labour, conservatives, plaid and snp just shouting blaming everyone except themselves.

Compared to the others last night?

It’s only him and the greens next week… if you think the aim is to take votes off the conservatives, you get 30 minutes to rip the tories to bits uninterrupted and with no rights of reply

Unless the audience last night are as hostile and Fiona Bruce is at her most annoying interruption worst like last night!

All you people are moaning about nothing. Yesterday's broadcast was not leaders going head to head! They were individually presented to the audience for approx 30 minutes of questions.

The other leaders will get their chance. There's no way anyone would have wanted 4 hours solid of this.

The last thing mediocrities like Starmer and Sunak would want would be to appear on the same stage as Farage.

Reform would be on 25% within days if that happened.

I don't think it's to do with Farage expressing an opinion that differed from the person you replied to. He expressed opinions that differ from reality, his over simplistic solutions to complex problems crumble under the slightest scrutiny. Nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing. That's just how it is.

Is this about Farage saying that Tate is an “important voice for men” but has said some “pretty horrible things”?

Seems pretty fair. Lots of young men seem to be interested in Tate, that’s a statement of fact.

I’m not sure what “horrible things” Tate has said. It doesn’t interest me particularly. Maybe Farage is being unfair on Tate there.

I’d never heard of Tate before the media and the Romanian police brought him to everyone’s attention. They’ve probably done Tate a big favour in increasing his global visibility.

Actually reform have polled 2nd in entirely 1 poll in this entire election campaign so far

It’s got nothing to do with them pledging to scrap the license fee.. it has everything to do with election broadcasting impartiality laws where if a party does reach a certain level of potential mps they don’t get on the national broadcast

The four parties on last night are the 4 projected to get the most MPs… whether you like it or not

Sunaks Rwanda scheme would take 431 years to deport the current 215,600 home office asylum

applications.

Starmer will be binning the scheme a week tomorrow, writing off £400m of taxpayers money.

Fiona has outed three Green candidates who have either expressed pro Hamas or anti-semite views, in the last few weeks.

Fluffed a response.

And highlighted Reform candidates talking derogatory about small boats people, and blacks.

Farage: I want nothing to do with them.

Which racist slur was he referring to? There's so many it's impossible to keep track.

Yes plenty. If your next question is "prove it", just Google and you'll find plenty.

Reform is gaining traction

Likely to get more votes than Libdems and greens combined and hot on Tory tails. What does that say for the electorate.

If as predicted Labour fuck up on immigration we will be seeing alot more of Farage.

How come you are immune while so many fall prey to this “conditioning”?

I always love how quickly Farage moves.

He's inherited a start up party. Who he's a shareholder of.

The candidates were inherited before his watch.

But he also paid (and he always uses I) 150k big ones to do the vetting.

Unfortunately the vetting cinhe selected were part of the establishment.

But despite now being the leader he has no idea why they are still standing for reform. Even though he wouldn't have anything to do with them.

And he destroyed BNP. By taking their voters. (But not their members.) But deffo not a racist party.

I don't like the way he does policitics. But he does it so well!

I'd have thought it was obvious what the 'Labour fucking up' statement means. In having to ask, you exemplify why Reform are gaining traction. Everybody is quick to bash Farage (justifiably sometimes) but then have cloth ears over the underlying reasons. That deafness is driving the right wing here and elsewhere.

Under Labour the type of immigration will be irrelevant. There will just be more taxpayers’ money spent on people who can help them through and do the paperwork.

Not sure you can genuinely blame me for people voting for that bunch of nut jobs.

But I am interested in what people mean.

Right wing parties go through the same cycle. The last 14 years is a good example.

Step 1. Pump anti-immigrant rhetoric through the media.

Step 2. Government blame immigrants for all its failures.

Step 3. Government spunks millions on pointless schemes that do nothing (ie Rwanda).

Step 4. Go to step 1.

They have absolutely zero motivation to do anything about illegal immigration because it takes away their biggest vote winner.

Can’t disagree

United Nations says another 1.2bn migrants will enter Europe by 2060/70

We’ve seen nothing yet. EU have recently agreed dispersal changes for more migrant integration among member states.

Not blaming you, but rather the perverse practice generally of blaming the messenger rather than facing the real issues. Yes, right-wing parties pop their heads up on a cycle. But it's a cycle driven by disaffection by a large number of people. Ignoring those concerns effectively is the recipe for right wing extremism.

Well I don't know. That's why I'm asking. We have legal immigration at the current levels because of government policy, and illegal immigration is left as is because it's a vote winner for right wing parties like Tories, Reform. So I'm not sure what people are worried about with Labour.
