Guilty or . . . ?
Prison Sentence or . . . ?
Serving actual time or . . . ?
I just want to read the headline that says:
'United States of America is run by a Criminal'
That would beat living through a World Pandemic.
El Chapo directs America from his jail cell. Can't wait for the movie.

Can’t stand him. Think he is an awful human being. His fortune is based on wooden dollars giving the illusion of success and wealth. He’s as mad as a box of frogs. Hope he goes to prison.

Yes. He deserves jail and America deserves a better too. I'm totally with Mr De'Niro.
It was a very long day yesterday - wish I could show you my office desk lol - in the end I showered and hit the TC Malls for late shopping! Yay. |

I think he will be found guilty…..
However because in theory he would be a “ first time offender” and his age… I think whatever sentence he gets will be suspended
After the way he has gone after the judge he shouldn’t….. but I think the judge will be the better human being!
So my answer is … 18 months suspended! |

I might be one of the few that thinks he'll be found not guilty due to the prosecution not "making the case" successfully judged by how many questions have come out of deliberations already. Also I think it will be not a settled case, will get kicked until after the election, and if if wins will get kicked indefinitely. |

I'm skeptical too. I assume there will be appeals and delays and other such tactics. |

"Tic toc tic toc
I have the feeling that the longer it takes, the more the chance that he isn't going to be found guilty. The Jury has to be unanimous in its vote.
Tic toc tic toc
"
Actually at this stage I feel the opposite… it means they are doing their due diligence… remember in this trial there are 34 charges
If it gets to … let say… day 5 or 6… then I might worry
At this point it’s only been in effect 24 hrs |

"This is a criminal court with the burden of proof set at 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Given that a unanimous verdict is required of the jury, I'm doubtful of a conviction. Happy to be proved wrong."
Yes and no…. In this case, for this to be a felony crime… the crime in itself would have to be linked to a different crime … but the judge said it didn’t have to be a specific crime
So if for example they think the writing of the cheques was related to trying to evade federal election spending rules.. that would be enough!…. Or if some thought the cheques were to evaded business expenses and were in effect accounting fraud.. that would be enough
The trump defence is that everyone was lying, he is telling the truth, this is perfectly normal… nothing to see here!
People can lie… pretty hard for a paper trail to!!! |

Actually the bits they asked for were the for peckers (the national enquiry owners) call with trump… information about the deal with the 2nd woman, not stormy but Karen mcdougal, and the 3 way meeting between pecker, Cohen and trump… and peckers/cohens recollection of that meeting…. |

Trafford Centre?
Can't beat shopping 8pm to 10pm, relatively quiet, indoor, some big names and only just over an hour away from north Shropshire.
I can't work out whether he'll be acquitted or not, but how can people be sure he won't do time if convicted? |

I get this for the core support. Nothing he can do will change their minds.
But for floating voters. Would they be happy with a convicted felon being in charge of the party of law and order, would they be happy with someone who cheated on his wife with a pornstar in charge of the party of family values?

Do they though? Trump is ultra establishment. If they truly were looking for someone to stand up to the establishment they would have voted for people like Nader or Sanders. |

So does anyone think that 'The Conspiracy' is against Trump?
He says: They. His Followers say: They.
Trump says it's a crime against America - say what? But then the criminal would say that, wouldn't he?
He was already found guilty of business fraud in NYC and barred from practising business there.
This establishment? Who is that exactly? After all, he's as rich and powerful as most of them. But of course it's not him, and his bottom lip wavering will always tell you that he's been hard done by.
He's not a narcissist at all - no, not one bit.
In my opinion, again, Even his followers are better off without him.

Yes and no…..
Capital riot and january 6th trial is currently suspended pending a decision on presidential immunity from SCOTUS
The classified documents trial because of the judge (seemingly having some sort of deference to truth because he put her in that particular position) is going at the pace of a sloth and currently has no start date
And the Georgia trial, because it’s RICO 17 people are going to be done together! And that one is even further behind
The first 2 are federal… meaning if trump gets back in, those will likely “go away” under his DOJ….. |

Normally I would agree. But in this instance Trump wasn't even trying to do that. For example he was trying his best to remove access to healthcare for millions of the poorest Americans right in the middle of the worst pandemic in living memory. Meanwhile giving himself tax breaks. |

In the US many believe you should stand on your own 2 feet, even when it comes to medical cover and they do not want their tax $'s going towards the support of others. We have the same views here, be it illegal immigration costs, NHS, unemployed and so on.
A lot of people believe in straight talking, this is not unique to the US but Trump resonates their mistrust of the government. That sounds wildly out of balance for giving Trump support, but I read the same type of mistrust of the government in here from people, who say they would vote for anyone other than tory.
Johnson was not a million miles away from Trump in both his attitude and his actions, but he had an amazing amount of support.
Trump polarises opinion, there is no real middle ground for him, so it is either love or hate. |

"If they're hoping to 'destroy Trump in the courts' I'm afraid they're sadly mistaken. "
Exactly this. The vast majority of his supporters think this is a book-keeping misdemeanour and trying to prosecute it on 34 different instalments (charges) is a pure witch hunt, trying to make it sound worse than it is.
It also won't stop Biden quipping 'convicted felon' every opportunity he can. |

Interesting. How do you reckon Trump managed to convince people that he is straight talking, and the one for people who don't trust the government to vote for, even though he was the government when he was president?
And honestly, I do not understand the US's enthusiasm for having to buy inefficient over priced insurance. Meanwhile being both very patriotic, love their country
while not caring if their fellow Americans die due to lack of access to healthcare. |

Anarchists love 'straight talking' but to them, it does not mean 'for everyone, not just the rich'. It generally means 'just tear it all down and let us do what the F we want to in our own little corner of the world'.
No taxes - no gun control - local militia - moonshine states etc etc.
Trump plays to that mode of thinking just because it works for him to sound anti-establishment - he's going to need enforcers of the cause, when all said and done. Someone he can rile-up anytime the mood takes him.
The Capitol Riots were proof enough of that.
If they could ONLY see that Trump IS the Establishment!
