"I managed to change some sterling to Euros last week and got 1.17€ to £1.
Another Brexit benefit
The pound has been artificialy high for decades. "
Ah well, that’s alright then.
Certainly not been artificially high since June 2016. |

Strangely it was steadily around £1.20 - £1.25 before Brexit but there ya go"
It was about €1.30 before the referendum.
Still hasn't recovered. |

Is that good or bad news? Who does “recovery” help or hinder? |

Depends on your import/export ratio.
We need a strong currency. |

There used to be a chap on here who posted regularly celebrating micro currency changes by eating lobster. You two would have got on well. |

Where? How (pm me if you wish)?
I transfer ten grand a month from my UK bank to my french one, the last transfers after commissions, charges etc. netted me
€11 568.00, €11 318.00 and last week €11 387.00. A little bit higher this week, and today suggests €11 427.00.
But nowhere near your rate! |

We don't "need" a strong currency. Germany benefited massively by joining the Euro because the doutschmark was a very strong currency and hampered German car sales. |
