So in an exit rant outgoing US climate alarmist Brahmin John Kerry has blamed the poor rollout of Electric Vehicles on “disinformation”.
Presumably Kerry has been pondering this problem on all those trips on his private jet.
So now we have car companies like Ford, Audi, BMW, GM all rowing back in their EV production against a background of poor take up, product recalls, issues running at 79% more than for ICE vehicles etc.
And not to mention the fact that EV’s don’t work if the weather is too cold or too hot.
Nobody but an ideologue, fool, or someone who can dump their loss on the company car scheme is going to be dumb enough to buy an EV.
But for Kerry this is all due to disinformation. No doubt before long expect any criticism of EV’s to be banned.
The inevitable failure of EV’s is what happens when government decides to get involved in stuff that it doesn’t understand, like the complexities of consumer decisions about what vehicle suits their own individual lifestyle and commitments.
Meanwhile Kerry has moved on to work for Biden’s reelection campaign. The guy knows how to pick a winner. |

"You didn’t write that Rog did you? Can you give us your source. Thanks "
I pick up my information from myriad sources daily.
Perhaps you’d like to share your “sources”? Oh and I don’t regard the BBC as being a source of anything, unless one simply wants to know what current globalist group think is. I’m sure you don’t rely on that. |

If you are not prepared to cite your sources so anyone who is interested in verifying what you have said can go look, then we won’t believe you. Surely you have seen that shift in Fab Forum unofficial rules brought about by many of the regular posters? Or just be clear you are posting opinion rather than provable facts. |

John Kerry blaming EV troubles on disinformation can be found very easily via Google, however, to help you out a bit, try WSJ..
Why have we gotten to a stage where easily found information has turned into 'we don't believe you if you don't tell us where you got your information'? I understand that stance if you have looked and are at a loss but for easily found information, really? |

Because I am making light of a position so many have taken lately (and to quote one “saying do your own research doesn’t cut it”) and I am concerned about how many posters seemed to have had a sense of humour bypass lately. |

You put it down to 'making light of' but you're behaving in the exact same way.
There's a brand new thread here and you've done nothing but attack the OP, no discussing the actual thread at all.
I'd imagine most people see the 'politics section' as a serious part of the forum. |

I am deliberately behaving in the same way. To make a point. Why is it only ok for certain posters to act that way? Just holding up a mirror to the behaviour. Annoying isn’t it!
And people getting butt hurt is funny. Talking politics on a swinger website with tots, ass, and cock on display is frankly all rather ludicrous. So yeah, I am taking the piss our of all of us |

None of what you just wrote is true though and you know it. There has been a demand for sources and evidence, including in one case a demand to see a “memo” to prove a point (which would be impossible as this would be confidential) to be told you are a liar if you can’t give such evidence. A complete lack of belief or willingness to accept that some on here are experts in certain fields and again demanding proof of such. So lately I am taking the same approach because that behaviour wasn’t called out so must be the new modus operandi right? |

Why do you assume that people should cite their sources on the politics forum of a swingers website?
This isn’t an assignment for a BA in media studies at Middlesex University.
If you think that EV’s have a great future and there are no problems with the technology and the roll out, by all means feel free to argue your position. |

I definitely said 'IMO', to break that down for you, in my opinion, that means that I think you do, if you want to disprove it, feel free.

"Eva today are like Mobile phones in the 90s
Give it time. They are the future and will be required to slow climate change "
I think the mobile phone analogy is slightly incorrect.
A more accurate comparison would be the government deciding to ban all mobile phones in ten years time, and we should use landlines instead (or some other technology that doesn’t exist) as it would be much better for the environment. |

Actually Rog I really don’t need your sources as this was more about making a point. If your post has taken the opposite political view, there are some on here who would demand evidence and sources. I am just doing the same, for a laugh.
I am actually very sceptical about EVs, especially now for many of the reasons you say. Particularly for me the issue is range, lack of charging infrastructure, slow charging time, and carbon footprint building the cars. |

Mobile phones went from worthless bricks to supercomputers in a few decades
EV will do the same. ICE cars can’t be continued if we want to save the planet |

The point being made is the tech they are trying to move to is a backward step from what we already have, offering no benefit. |

So yeah, I am taking the piss our of all of us
You're not holding up a mirror, you do it more often than any individual person, imo. As far as display pics go, 90% of the time, I don't even see them.
None of what I wrote is true and I know it?
I definitely said 'IMO', to break that down for you, in my opinion, that means that I think you do, if you want to disprove it, feel free.
The user you've targeted in this thread, is he one of those you say demands evidence and calls people liars if he isnt provided witb it? If not, then I'm afraid your 'approach' is misdirected .
But Feisty you should have learned by now that I am always right
Actually you are claiming I behave a certain way. Prove it! I don’t need to disprove as you made the claim
I don't have anything to prove.
Why? Because I offered my opinion. This is the third time I've said it.
Its different to 'None of what you just wrote is true though and you know it', which is presented as fact.
Ah so you can’t back up your opinion and are just saying things for effect. Now some posters on here might use some emotive language to accuse you of something. But I won’t because I am just stirring and winding up."

"You didn’t write that Rog did you? Can you give us your source. Thanks

"Eva today are like Mobile phones in the 90s"
The difference being that people wanted mobile phones. Even when they were limited and hugely expensive, people wanted them, because they were better than the alternatives. The same is not true of EVs.
"Mobile phones went from worthless bricks to supercomputers in a few decades"
Well that's just not true. They went from being extremely valuable and useful bricks, to inexpensive and even more useful small things.
"ICE cars can’t be continued if we want to save the planet"
But at the moment EVs are more polluting than ICEs. It is more efficient to burn petrol to make a car move, than it is to burn gas to generate electricity, and then transform and transport that electricity to the end user. And gas is how the UK's electricity is being generated at the moment.
If we have an excess of 'green' electricity at some point in the future, EVs would be green transport, but at the moment they're not. |

We do need to move away from fossil fuels, and look into electric vehicles, however not the way its been done now.
Are they affordable?
Are they practical in non typical weather?
Are they economical to repair?
Are they economical to build?
How will the existing power infrastructure cope with lots of EV's being charged up?
Are they enough charging points?
How will it affect our home electric bill given the huge costs of power at the moment?
That's just a list off the top of our head and to be honest we get the impression that nobody seems willing to resolve those questions. Hence, we recently opted to replace our old car with a second hand petrol one, like many other people. |

Give it time. They are the future and will be required to slow climate change
I think the mobile phone analogy is slightly incorrect.
A more accurate comparison would be the government deciding to ban all mobile phones in ten years time, and we should use landlines instead (or some other technology that doesn’t exist) as it would be much better for the environment.
I don’t even get what you said
Point being, the tech is early days and improving quickly
Mobile phones went from worthless bricks to supercomputers in a few decades
EV will do the same. ICE cars can’t be continued if we want to save the planet "
Or the scythe perhaps. I don’t understand why the government isn’t banning all other forms of lawnmower, whether electric or petrol.
Whichever drive you have, they no doubt require fossil fuels, minerals, are shipped very long distances etc etc and are very bad for the environment.
The scythe on the other hand could probably be made manually in the UK at minimal environmental cost. And would be very beneficial for the user’s health and well being and help to combat the obesity crisis.
Plus in future nobody will be able to go anywhere so there will be far more time to spend cutting the lawn, if that hasn’t been banned and rewilding has become compulsory under threat of imprisonment.
I’m not clear why the government isn’t mandating its use. |

I definitely believe EVs will be the future. The technology has been making rapid progress. But adoption may not be as quick as governments want.
Adoption will pick up once prices drop and technology evolves to iron out all the practical issues like range anxiety, winter effects on batteries. But government bans on ICEs without understanding the practical feasibility is probably a wrong step to take at this point. |
