Shadow foreign secretary David Lammy slams Israeli ‘death and destruction’ and urges UK travel ban on violent settlers

The same David Lammy who consistently voted for the Iraq war. Don’t remember him complaining when UK/USA campaign resulted in 300,000 Iraqi civilians got slotted.

UK travel ban?

I wouldn’t think there is a huge queue of Jews rushing to travel to the UK or Europe.

It's a pressure release valve.

"Violent settlers" are a fair target for people who want something to condemn, for political purposes, without actually having to do very much.

If you're left leaning and need to placate your voters, but either support Israel or don't want to alienate Israel supporters, it's a fairly low-risk political move.
