Netanyahu stated just now'when truce ends Israel will go back to fighting.

One month before Christmas and Israel is not at peace.

I cannot believe 2023 peace is not adhered to.

I thought the peace treaty 1949 was to end all wars?

That’s how truces work. They’re meant to be temporary. Otherwise they’ve be called peace.

So was the 'peace' of 1919.

It's sad but he's not long for keeping power and by continuing fighting, he's holding up to power

I think it's largely a personal failing

Someone needs to tell America this. Since 1776, the United States has been at war 93 percent of the time—227 out of 244 years, according to Global Research.

There won't be peace over there. Hamas wish to wipe Israel off the map and do not want a 2 state solution. Israel want to eradicate Hamas. Stalemate whilst civilians die.

Opening a right canof worms talking about that conflict, soooo many angles.

But I agree OP, it is a shame that in this day and age people can't put things like religion and history behind them to live in peace and harmony.

No matter what the reason, in any conflict, you cannot justify killing huge amounts of innocent men, women and children.

He knows that if all the hostages are released and the IDF say we've severely damaged Hamas (which will not be eradicated in the current state of affairs), then the troops will withdraw and the spotlight for the failures that allowed the 7th October attack falls directly upon him and his government..

He was deeply unpopular before October and facing corruption charges so it's almost like prolonging the war is his best protection..

Why is Christmas relevant?

Clearly, religious holidays make great opportunities for invasions/violence?

There will always be wars as long as we have tribes.

If the answer to peace was one dominant tribe removing all other tribes, would that be a better route to peace, or should we keep on fighting smaller, bloodier wars with no actual long term benefits?

Not everyone thinks the same or have the same values as everyone else. Some people can't grasp that. They just want everyone to be just like them. So there will always be conflicts and wars. My tribes are a hell of a lot different than people there tribes. I am not going to change at all. Unless forced to I die well then I die. Just like Hamas it's their belief they are doing the right thing. I'll do mine you do yours. So wars will continue. Might as well be prepared and efficient at it.

From their perspective, it's the war that's the problem and not the weapons. If they don't manufacture the weapons, someone else will. Or Israel/Hamas will manufacture their own weapons. Brutal killings in wars have been happening ever since humans formed tribes. It's not like manufacturing weapons only starts the wars. Now if any of these weapon manufacturers play a role in starting the war, that's a different story

Even with one tribe left, it would just start all over again. You know like Abrahams tribe became Isaacs and Ishmael tribe. Who then split into Judaism, Christianty, Sunni and Shia Muslims etc.

The difference is GB took in migration from its former colonisation. Your recent wars created so much migration to Europe who pay the price. But because of your geographical location you don't face that cost. But instead reap all of any benefits.

The difference is GB took in migration from its former colonisation. Your recent wars created so much migration to Europe who pay the price. But because of your geographical location you don't face that cost. But instead reap all of any benefits. We take in more immigrants than any country on the planet. By a wide margin. We face 10 times the cost you do.

Not from your Middle Eastern ventures you don't. Dont see boats heading across the Atlantic.

From Central and South America yes which you get for planting your puppet dictatorships all over there."

And I don't see boats heading there from Mexico. Wanna trade if it makes you feel better?

Someone needs to tell America this. Since 1776, the United States has been at war 93 percent of the time—227 out of 244 years, according to Global Research. Noted so tell everyone else to Quit fucking around and there will be no finding out.

Israel? Best two words to describe the situation would be 'shit show' in all honesty. Peacekeepers need to go in and stay in for as long as it takes. No taking sides as they clearly hate each other far too much.

Never going to happen because the USA will veto any suggestion of it at the UN. They want Israel to be able to do whatever they want with impunity.

“Shitshow” is a really accurate description of the situation.

It was a British decision that caused it, all those years ago.

It’s American support for Israeli war crimes that has perpetuated it for many decades.

It’s all very sad.

My apologies refugees. Yes Britain and to a lesser extent other European countries get right behind these American adventures in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria etc.

But while the Americans get all the benefits of government puppet regimes and rebuild contracts and military bases. Europe gets the fleeing refugees. Should have a rule the where the parties involved get the refugees according to their involvement. Including countries just selling the weapons. That might make them think twice.

Nobody is safe from Hamas and islamists. As it says in the Quran the rest of us are to be slain, not just Israeli's.

328 people from 40 countries were confirmed as dead or missing after the attack by Hamas

In addition 54 of the current hostages, are from 25 foreign states

Havering Council will not light Hanukkah candles over fears of ‘inflaming’ tensions.

I wonder what the social justice warrior Mr.Sadiq Khan has to say about this.

They're basically saying that a certain segment of the community is uncontrollably anti-Jewish, or that they are. But they cannot say that outright.

It's very curious that they mention "an increase in the number of hate crimes in Havering, both towards the Jewish and Muslim community".

Are they concerned that the Hannukah candles will cause an increase in hate crimes against the Muslim community? If not, why reference the hate crimes towards the Muslim community? Is it because it would be "unbalanced" to say "we are concerned for the wellbeing of the Jewish community and vandalism against their religious symbols, due to an increase in hate crimes against the Jews"? Or are they looking to protect the Muslim community from the rampaging Jews who will rendezvous at said candles and go on a Muslim hunt? Or is it to somehow drag Muslims into this decision, with the subtext that Muslims are to blame? It's all a bit cack-handed, really.

Full article from the local paper is here:

My take is along the lines of

"We are seeing fall out from the war in the middle east locally. As it only takes one idiot to cause criminal damage, we feel it unwise to risk spending money on something that may get vandalised.

This happens to be a Jewish thing today, but we'd have done the same it it was a Muslim/palenstine thing tomorrow"

The premise of terrorism is that a small violent group can coerce a population into complicity by choosing peace over principles. Threaten violence and, if the cost of appeasement is less than the impact of violence, then that society will go against its principles. It's like paying a blackm*iler - simpler to lose $1000 than try to take them on and risk exposure. While there's no specific terrorist threat here (that we know of), the mindset is the same - give up rather than stand up.

This is why Hamas declared "we love death more than Israel loves life", the implication being that Hamas will win because Israel is "too soft" and unwilling to pay with their lives, so will negotiate against their national interest for an end to terrorism (in their view). The cost of NOT standing up to blackma*lers/terrorists/violent nut-jobs is that future ones see opportunity for exploitation.

The whole purpose of gay pride and pride marches was because there was an understanding that gays would be tolerated if they kept quiet. Gays then said "no, we will stand up to this" and began pride marches to challenge this, and it worked - gays did not want to live in the shadows. Slowly allowing threats of violence to suppress religious, sexual or other expression is ultimately self-defeating. Rather, if it's a real issue (which it really probably isn't), the council should take a stand on this matter and ensure the security of said installation. Would that cost extra? Yes. But the cost would not be towards a specific small (0.5% of the Havering population) community, but rather towards the defence of the same "British Values" that the council teaches in their own schools.

Now, if this were a political Israel/Havering relations monument, then you might have a point - it would be fair enough to say "now is not the right time". But this is an ancient religious installation, and religion should be protected.

The message "just put your head down and stay quiet - it's not worth the headache" is a dangerous one where oppressed minorities (which they're declaring the Jewish community is) are concerned. Where a community does not stand up for itself in the threat of violence is where such a threat works, and that's exactly what terrorism aims to achieve - such a mindset.

Okay got you.

I agree, I think they made the wrong decision here but was more positioning why they may have made their decision, and why they included the Muslim part.

I think they did it because it wasn't about only "Muslims attacking Jewish stuff" but "groups attacking each other"

And in your example the terrorists are the ones in the UK who are causing crimes and creating fear. And seem to be on both sides. While it's an emotional word, I agree these people win of we don't take a stand.

I take your point on Jewish religious instillations but judaism and Israel are inextricably linked more so than any other country / religion. It's why Israel is mentioned in parts of what is antisemtic. It's not perfectly reflective bit there's a degree of cake and eating it in differentiating the two sometimes but not others.

In all seriousness, have any Jewish groups (or even individuals on any meaningful scale) attacked any Muslims in the UK? You might be able to drag out one or two extremely isolated incidents, but it's vanishingly rare. Now, turn that question around. There's no "groups attacking each other".

going by what is said. Hate crimes are up.

Now, I completely buy that there are non Jewish actors contributing to anti Muslim abuse. I also buy that there are non Muslim actors here. Because people wil happily use any excuse to act out. And because this isn't just a religious battle, but an actual war resulting in deaths. On both sides.

So the sides aren't really religion A v religion B but as much a bit of that for historical reasons and a bit of Israel v Palenstine.

That creates groups. Not easily defined groups. Maybe venn diagrams of groups in cases.

I suspect you agree here as you queried why a religious artifact was at risk when this is about Israel. Yet you have turned to asking about Jews and Muslims.

It's complex. No doubt. It's not one sided tho. Here or in the middle east.

Israel/Palestine is THE birthplace of the 3 monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each claim their stake. The history in the area is super complex. There are other nations at play (Iran) and many other factions other than Hamas fighting the Israelis (more importantly the recognition of the State of Israel).

Stay tuned folks, this has been going on for over a hundred years and may just go on another hundred.

Great post! This in my opinion is the biggest problem in UK and probably rest of Europe too. The police forces are taught to "de-escalate" the situation instead of defending people's rights. Most people are non-confrontational. If there is a potential that some people will respond with violence, the response seems to be "Why bother? Let's not do the thing that will offend them and make them cause violence"

This is a big win for the violent groups because it has proven that violence works. Ideally, if we know that a group is going to respond violently to something, we need to do that exact thing, bring out the violent individuals and it's the police's job to arrest the ones who come out to commit the violence. Instead, we act scared of these violent groups and give more confidence to them.

This is exactly how you lose your personal liberty.

I'm not 100pc sure,no. It's a bit what if, and our hypothesis likely involves personal bias in our own part.

Indeed whether cancelling was needed likely has some personal bias on there. I don't think it would have been damaged but ironically I think decisions like this increase the likelihood as it fans tensions. I think if there was a Muslim artifact put up next week, it's more likely to be damaged now. Not necessarily by a Jewish person, but because we are fanning flames ATM.

Yeah it it's a Muslim artifact, it's probably someone like Tommy Robinson doing the damage. But I don't think any council will stop doing something they have been doing for years if it's a Muslim artifact.

"Now, I completely buy that there are non Jewish actors contributing to anti Muslim abuse."

Would you go further and say "I am currently unaware that Jews are abusing Muslims in the UK, at all?" Saying "you buy" that there are "non-Jewish actors" implies an expectation that UK hate crimes against Muslims are generally by Jews, and you need to "buy" that some others "contribute" to it. If you think about it, that's a startling statement.

"I also buy that there are non Muslim actors here. Because people wil happily use any excuse to act out. And because this isn't just a religious battle, but an actual war resulting in deaths. On both sides. "

In the Middle East, yes.

"So the sides aren't really religion A v religion B but as much a bit of that for historical reasons and a bit of Israel v Palenstine."

There is no "v" here. In fact, Muslims shouldn't come into the discussion altogether. It's a fun night out for Jewish families. It always has been. No other agenda.

You do understand that this is the equivalent of installing a Christmas tree and having a light-switching-on ceremony? This has been going on all over the UK for decades and is totally apolitical and has absolutely nothing to do with the State of Israel? It's literally an event that Jewish families take their kids to, to see that they are being recognised in a land otherwise festooned with Christmas trees?

"That creates groups. Not easily defined groups. Maybe venn diagrams of groups in cases.

No, Havering Council raised that issue.

What's not one-sided here? That statement is a platitude, at best.

"Now, I completely buy that there are non Jewish actors contributing to anti Muslim abuse.

I also buy that there are non Muslim actors here. Because people wil happily use any excuse to act out. And because this isn't just a religious battle, but an actual war resulting in deaths. On both sides.

In the Middle East, yes.

So the sides aren't really religion A v religion B but as much a bit of that for historical reasons and a bit of Israel v Palenstine.

That creates groups. Not easily defined groups. Maybe venn diagrams of groups in cases.

I suspect you agree here as you queried why a religious artifact was at risk when this is about Israel. Yet you have turned to asking about Jews and Muslims.

No, Havering Council raised that issue.

It's complex. No doubt. It's not one sided tho. Here or in the middle east.

What's not one-sided here? That statement is a platitude, at best."

I can't do fancy quotes.

To be clear, i have no definite view (as in evidence) of who is committing the hate crimes in either sides. I've seen stats that say it has risen, more so for Jewish hate crimes, but also from a lower base.

My suspicion is that most of the shit on both sides is from people with no skin in the middle east game but using it as a smoke screen.

I hope that clears that bit up.

I know that this is a religious thing. However as I have said, judaism and Israel are more linked than any other country and religion. I can't think of any other example of this to draw an equivalence with.

Judaism being linked to Israel should have no effect whatsoever for Jews in the UK. Celebrating a _estival in a way the council has been doing for years should have no impact from a war happening in the middle east. If some lunatics decide to vandalise, they should be arrested. That's the job of police. The council should not act like this out of fear.

LBC on the issue, with the organising Rabbi.

Almost unanimous opposition against the council, with the exception of one Muslim gentleman (Adam ~1:39). Who relates it to the war in Israel, saying that the council is somehow empathising with the people being killed in Israel (he's unclear on that point) and showing its support against Israel's killing.

"How many countless deaths were caused by GB again and other past attrocities and colonisation? We are no where near those statistics.

"

You're parroting a false misconception of Britain and colonialism. It was mainly the wealthy ruling socialite families, and establishment that benefitted from Britain's past. The vast majority of citizens lived in total poverty. Try Googling 'Victorian working class' and you'll see what we mean.

America only goes to war to reinforce its foreign policy and overseas interests. Not just because other countries 'fucked around'. At the moment those are technology production, maintaining garrisons abroad, oil (surprise surprise), and trade routes (one of the oldest reasons for war).

I would propose people 'eliminating' eachother just breed more hate, more terror and the cycle continues.

A potential better solution would be to remove the causes that people get radicalised and the causes that push people to commit horrific acts. Kinda like they did in NI.

It’s not about how but more about removing the evil of Terrorism. The killing of any human or animal is a terrible thing. Let’s not turn the discussion into what is a more favourable way to kill anything. Stick to the subject at hand, how to realistically remove Terrorism.

The definition of Terrorism is the use of violent action in order to achieve political aims or to force a government to act. In reality, this extends to their pursuit to gain support from the local civilian population through the same violent actions. Their pursuit is often nothing to do with Political gain but more to do with organised crime, Religion and most of all their perceived power in society. Violence is only one part of their tactics, they also use various methods of so called brain washing to bring others into their cause. Most of the so called fighters, are those who have been drawn into the fight through these brain washing techniques. This gives rise to the fact that most of the fighters are innocent civilians and this alone gives question about how to eliminate the violence. But for every day a Government attempts to change the mindset of violent actions, other civilians are murdered or worse. So, at what point does a Government draw the line and use force to prevent further violence by those groups? I would suggest what happened in October last year was the line. Probably could have drawn the line a lot sooner but that is a discussion for another time.

The other major problem in world society is the ignorance of people on the subject of Terrorism. For the vast majority of us living in the UK, we believe everyone is the same i.e. we all feel remorse and only do what we believe and is right. This is great in our country but sadly very different in other countries where Terrorism is a part of life. What happens to civilian men, women and children is beyond comprehension to us who are protected by our own Government and the Law. Personally, I believe this is how it should be for everyone regardless of where we are in the world. There is only one way to make that happen and that is to rid the world of Terrorism. Terrorism has no meaning of thought or right and wrong. If allowed to continue the mindset of the top ranks of these organisations will get worse and sadly the general innocent population will suffer intolerable consequences.

There is no support for Mass Killing of any form from anyone anywhere.

There is obvious death and destruction from what ever action is taken from either side. Lets try and stay on the subject of what is the best solution to prevent either. As I've already stated many times, I support only the right of a civilian population to live peacefully among each other. Preferably in a democratically Governed way but when this is not achievable, then what and how do you achieve this?

Once Hamas are destroyed.

Will Palestine lands be returned in full to the two million people currently displaced

And illegal West Bank settlements removed

Palestine borders controlled by Palestinians

And who’s rebuilding their country. Many estimates north of $40bn

Will there be repatriations paid

An excellent set of questions. Has Israel ever stated what their ultimate objective is? What victory for them looks like? ie what is the end game? If they have stated it then I missed it so at the moment it just looks like revenge. Now I fully understand the need for revenge but this has been increasingly looking disproportional for some time now!

The issue is the question of what to do lol.

I propose a question to solve. This comes from an AI course at Uni. One of the first things they give you is a scenario to solve. This might be relevant to the Question of what to do with the issue in Israel lol.

You are a Train Driver going at speed along a route and you are about to come to a Track Switch, you can either go Left Track or Right Track there is no middle track for going straight between them. For the purpose of this hypothetical problem, You have no control of slowing down, stopping or even have any ability to sound a horn or flash lights etc. The Only control you have is a 2 direction switch, one side to go to the left track and the other side to the right track. Nothing else lol.

Now the problem, you see ahead and there are workmen working on both side tracks with their backs to you using noisy jack hammers and no look out to see you coming. On the left track there are 20 men working and on the right track there are 5 men working.

You have no control other than the left or right switch. What do you do?

They have stated pretty much every time they are questioned on this subject. Their No. 1 Objective is to get those hostages back, No. 2 is to completely destroy Hamas and prevent them from ever doing another October atrocity. The reason things are going on for a long time and inevitably will continue for a long time, is that Hamas is a Terrorist organisation and therefore causing a huge problem with their hiding behind civilians to protect themselves. Revenge might be in the minds of some but if that is the main focus of Israel, then this would have taken place a long time ago.

You have no control other than the left or right switch. What do you do?

"

I did propose a solution to avoid more mass killings above.

I'd definitely suggest that mass slaughtering civilians isn't a part of the solution.

And not sure what the trolly thought experiment has to do with this?

"An excellent set of questions. Has Israel ever stated what their ultimate objective is? What victory for them looks like? ie what is the end game? If they have stated it then I missed it so at the moment it just looks like revenge. Now I fully understand the need for revenge but this has been increasingly looking disproportional for some time now!

They have stated pretty much every time they are questioned on this subject. Their No. 1 Objective is to get those hostages back,

"

Do people genuinely believe this?

"

No. 2 is to completely destroy Hamas and prevent them from ever doing another October atrocity.

"

This is utter nonsense, what they are doing is ensuring that there will be a lot more angry people with nothing left to lose, who are much more likely to be radicalised. And the Israeli government 100% knows this.

"

The reason things are going on for a long time and inevitably will continue for a long time, is that Hamas is a Terrorist organisation and therefore causing a huge problem with their hiding behind civilians to protect themselves. Revenge might be in the minds of some but if that is the main focus of Israel, then this would have taken place a long time ago."

Erm. This has been going on for decades.

True but who are we to determine right from wrong if we have no idea of the reality over there. It's easy to say its all rubbish but how do we know? I have an Israeli friend and have asked him many times of what is going on there. He tells me he is an Arab full stop lol and his thoughts are he doesn't like the Jews. But not because of their religion more to do with their work ethics etc. When all this kicked off I asked him if his family over there are all ok. He said yes, thankfully, but he also stated how terrible the October thing was and cant understand how religion causes such terrible things.

Every proposal is worthy of mentioning. But I suppose the reality of putting any of them into action is not so simple. I've grown up around Terrorism so my proposal is only mine from my own experiences. But I do listen and have no issues with accepting any proposals. Just a discussion and not to create ill will.

As for that thought experiment, firstly trying to lighten the mood here but also the relevance to what is happening in Israel. The correct answer to the experiment is,,, Do Nothing. If you, for instance, decide to switch to the right track as less people are killed, then by doing so you are now responsible for the 5 deaths on that side. So doing nothing removes the responsibility from you.

In reality lol, doing nothing is worse so I would think most would take the lesser of the 2 evils. The relevance is, if Israel do nothing some will continue be killed. Every Government and Law enforcement authority have to do what ever it takes to keep us all safe. Sadly with hindsight many times things could have been done better. But doing nothing is not an option and sadly what ever they do will never keep everyone happy

Mass slaughtering civilians is wrong.

Moving the border of your country, kicking people out of their homes is wrong.

Firing rockets at towns is wrong.

Cutting off food and water is wrong.

So again, what is the solution? Easy to point out all the wrongs but in the reality of Terrorism, what do you do? Remember, if you truly understand the mindset of Terrorists, what do you do?

They won't give you alternate solutions. They just sit in their home and pass some lame comments on how this is "just wrong" and that is "just wrong", acting like they are the upholders of some universal morality they invented. Reality of terrorism is much more complex than they think.

Yes, during WW2 the deliberate targeting of civilians in towns was wrong. By both sides of the conflict.

Not sure why it's a struggle to understand that some people think it's wrong to bomb civilians. To me it seems like a no-brainer.

Ah I see. Your differential is that lives in the other country is worth less. That's the problem with current conflict, there are people in Israel, and people in Palestine who think the same way as you.

This thread needs to stop. There is no way anyone is going to gain anything with this current conversation. What seems to be logical to one person is illogical to the other and vice versa.

Maybe if you believe you understand the consequences of any action you should first go and live in it. See for yourself what actions or lack of actions can do for you. If you make it out alive then you can come onto discussions and talk with experience of it all. Otherwise you simply have to understand that Governments and the Law authorities know what they are dealing with from many years of their own experiences.

It has been tried and Hamas broke the agreement. So the option you claim is not an option at all. Terrorists don't follow agreements.

So no comment about changing the goalposts to try to "win" some kind of point?

Have provided multiple suggestions, multiple times, as have multiple other forum posters.

I'm comfortable that you can see no other options than to slaughter innocent civilians on an industrial scale. But not sure why you won't accept that some people don't think this is a good idea.

The solution of going and negotiating with Hamas?

It has been tried and Hamas broke the agreement. So the option you claim is not an option at all. Terrorists don't follow agreements.

You're right, let's all cheer on the mass slaughter, and come on to forums on swingers sites and try to belittle anyone who doesn't support the mass extermination of innocent civilians. "

I don't think anyone here cheers mass slaughter of civilians. Who here is cheering mass slaughter of civilians according to you?

Anyone who says Israel shouldn't go after Hamas should volunteer to support victims of terror attacks.

No one has suggested that so we don't need anyone to do this.

No one wants Israel to go after civilians either. So we don't need anyone to do that

That wasn't the point you replied to though. Just to remind you, it was...

I was just sarcastically agreeing with you.

Anyway, I think we're at an impasse. You can't see any options except more mass slaughter.

I'm against the mass slaughter, and would prefer other options to be explored.

Let's just leave it?

Yes we reached an impasse. I believe Israel should try to get back their hostages, destroy Hamas terrorists and protect themselves. You are against that idea. Let's just leave it.

LOL

I can't believe this guy is still making false inuendo's about people Supporting mass murder LOL. I'm sure he is one of those in the Closet types with a Fetish for Mass Murder LOL. NO ONE on this forum has ever said, suggested or agreed that Mass Murder is the right way to go. NO ONE. Please Wake Up and understand the written English Language. It’s difficult for some as it seems to be for this guy.

He says he has given multiple options but when someone gives him a reason why those options won't work, he completely and utterly disagrees with it LOL even with his obvious complete inexperience of the subject. It’s almost like he truly doesn't want to hear any other person’s ideas. Only HIS will do. There is something wrong with him.

For the Last Time LOL

1: Hamas is a very well established Terrorist Organisation. They have been declared that by multiple countries along with the other Terrorist organisation, also in Gaza.

2: It has been very well established by multiple Government Intelligence authorities, that any type of Negotiation with Any Terrorist organisation is futile.

3: It's also very well established that allowing a Terrorist organisation to continue will inevitably cause more and more mass murders all over the world by them and their sadistic mindset.

4: It's more than Obvious to anyone that allowing a Terrorist organisation to continue is NOT the correct thing to do.

5: It’s been well established and proven many times over, that War causes injury and death to more civilians than actual military personnel. A very sad conclusion but one that is not ever going to go away.

PLEASE STOP YOUR ACCUSATIONS THAT PEOPLE ARE GOOD WITH MASS MURDER.

Your accusations, apart from being incredibly incorrect, are extremely disturbing, distasteful and hurtful to anyone on this forum or any other forum or discussion.

For your information, the definition of discussion is, the action or process of talking about something in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas.

This is a discussion not an inuendo board of nastiness. Discussions always have various opinions about the subject and often there are most that disagree with each other’s opinions, but when a person then starts accusing others in the discussion of Vile, disgusting things, they have instantly lost their argument and any respect from all. Same as any person pointing a gun at another person for financial gain or to cause fear, instantly loses their Civil Rights to life.

Again, What is Israel meant to do to prevent Hamas continuing on their barbaric and murderous campaign? Everything you have suggested has been to stop their attack on Hamas. How in any person’s mind is that the correct thing to do. As for the sad fact of many many innocent civilians being killed, NO ONE wants that including Israel. But when dealing with a Terrorist organisation you have no options. Terrorists are Cowards, they hide behind Civilians in order to protect themselves. Those same civilians are often, no always, brutally tortured by the Terrorists into submitting to their ways.

So now I’m going to suggest to you. Are YOU supporting the Mass Murder of Civilians by a Terrorist organisation?

Overnight protests against the Israeli government erupt across Israel. Thousands flood the streets, including Tel Aviv, demanding war criminal Netanyahu resignation amidst deepening frustration over the hostage crisis. Protesters call for early elections and a hostage deal, leading to clashes with police in Tel Aviv. Israeli police struggle to contain the angry crowds, resorting to force not surprisingly at all including water cannons, resulting in injuries to many, including family members of hostages and dead IDF soldiers. Israel has lost this war and now they are taking out on each other

Not good. But I think the main issue for those protestors is the fact that the IDF have not been able to get the hostages back. It's sad that they can't get them back safely but under the circumstances, how can they. Negotiating with Hamas is simply never going to work.

If hostages are dead, Hamas has to admit what they did and surrender. Israel has all rights to go after them.

I have not been keeping up with the latest news speak.

But I read that "there is no point in negotiating with Hamas as they can't be trusted, or look what happened last time" words to that affect

Are these the new terms now being used to per-long the massacre, or to excuse negotiations or something else.

I remember back in early 1980's in Zimbabwe. A small group of British tourists were taken by the other Terrorist organisation, the ones that didn't get into power at that time. I remember for many months on the TV there, the parents and family members begging for the release of the group. It was more than obvious to everyone living in Zimbabwe that the group were all dead but very sad to see the pleas of their families. Any Terrorist organisation have no issue in simply killing anyone. So I wouldn't hold my breath for the Israeli hostages but we can all hope. Problem is, if there are some still alive, where the hell are they. Hamas have or had many underground tunnels and many going into Egypt. So they could be anywhere by now.

Very well presented analysis of a 'certain element' here which constantly and ultimately ruins any sensible discussion between other contributors.

I think such elements really ought to be ignored, full stop.

The whole situation in one particular case reminds me of that classic 1970's Monty Python sketch 'I've come for an argument' which descends into a comparable farce, just as on here....!

Sadly any negotiations with Hamas, being a terrorist organisation, would be futile. There is no reason to believe Israel will stop their ongoing fight to rid the world of Hamas. Sadly this has to happen and even more sadly many innocent civilians will be caught up in the struggle. The only thing to look for now is the complete destruction of Hamas

What results you expected from IDF “Impotent diaper force”. These lunatics were busy last six months destroying hospitals, universities, schools and killing Aid workers, journalists, doctors, women and children. Hostages were never their priority. Failed army, more like a terrorist organisation

Are the IRA now in power in NI?

The PLO signed an agreement on the whitehouse lawn with bill Clinton.

Lots of others which can be found with a quick search on the internet.

Those were considered terrorists, but negotiated for peace, so to say as a fact that western governments do not negotiate with a terror organisation is not fact at all.
