"Wanted to decide who lives or dies on covid pandemic...
Still hasn't responded to accusations but wow...what a fucking nasty shit he is anyway "
After reading many of the comments on the virus forum during the pandemic nothing surprises me.
Many people from a very early stage were saying that it's only the old and sick who will die so we should carry on with our lives, and still people are saying that.
It's hardly a surprise to hear it from a higher up.
It could also be that he's being thrown under the bus by people trying to cover their own asses.
Either way all of it is incredibly distasteful and inhuman. |

I dont see the problem here.
The government does the same thing in war.
They decide who lives and dies by setting rules on who is drafted.
The government would set rules as to who the NHS was to concentrate on should it become truly overwhelmed. Thisnis contingency planning.
Nothing new here.
The government decided that men 18-30 die when drafted for war.
Not women, not oaps, not children.
The same here. Should there have been an event where triage was needed the government would set out the stall on who takes priority.
There is nor problem here.
Move on

What I think has been missed here is the quote is from another persons view.
I would be extremely surprised if Hancock actually said anything close to what the persons view was.. I think it is more likely he would have indicated that his department under his leadership will prioritise healthcare and what needs to be high up the list should the situation become dire.
He is still an unsavoury character |

Agreed. If covid was more deadly and across a larger scope of the population not just those that where most vulnerable some very very difficult triage decisions would have had to be made. Who should be making those decisions is debatable
However healthcare professionals and departments have shown them selves as not being the best placed to make this decision either for example placing DNR's on healthy disabled people during the pandemic without the knowledge or consent of the parents and guardians. |

Well if you have people bigging you up and putting an X by your name it might give some a god complex, some people do think they are better than everyone else and a pat on the back just instils it. |

Politicians and judges play God all the time from deciding laws to convicting people.
This is no different.
Same with the battlefield tactics.
Even the first post was quite a frankly dishonest interpretation of what happened.
Nothing questionable really happened here.
Storm in thimble springs to mind. |
