The Female Police Chief of Police has announced that Police Scotland is Institutional Racist. Well there is a surprise. First it's Police England, the NHS, the Ambulance Service, Football, the Army, etc etc. Isn't it easier to announce which organisation isn't? Or is al this just smoke and mirrors.. what's going on here guys? It's all over the news |

Think they want police forces discredited and for people to hate them and turn on them and riot, then, they are justified to bring in the one world army. All the foreign soldiers that were brought over that evertyone thought were illegal immigrants or assylum seekers. All part of the agenda |

you get racists in all professions i guess,
every country has their racists
i've travelled to several countries, 8/10 times to varios parts of usa, india 5 times, dubai once, austrlia/japan newzealand once france lost count, gemany once, portugal/denmark, canda ioce and a few more places - never been to scoland but been to wales and cornwall
racists everywhere as well as nice, very fair and reasonable people.
we are asain and have expereince, i have quiet a bit of it from other so-called school mates, at work, visiting customers, on the road, at times on hols - now days most of it is subtle or covert unless the clown is d*unk - it comes from men as well as women and youngsters - the police in london appear to have improved a lot
the police have a hard job and if you are not happy with them, report them rather than shout the odds. |

Racism is universal, it is part of the tribalism of the Nation State stage of society.
Try travelling in South Africa and see how fast you get racially profiled and detained.
Try working in Serbia or Montenegro and experience the daily racism from officials.
The issue is not the institution, the problem is the people who want to be police officers. |

" the problem is the people who want to be police officers."
What? All of them? I'm guessing you don't know many of them personally.
Your statement is very sweeping, the sort of thing that would be said by, well, a racist in fact!

Can you explain how saying that the people who want to be police is racist?
Is Police a new race?
And yes, there is clear evidence that there are failings in recruitment that need to be addressed. After all, how many killer cops and rapist cops got through? Not shocked to see racists getting through as well.

No I can't, because that's not what I said, is it?
I didn't say you were a racist or what you said was racist.
In essence, I'm saying you are using a behavioural trait used by people who display discriminatory behaviour.
I said you'd made a very sweeping statement and pointed out that racists often use very sweeping statements.
If you'd been talking about some applicants for the police, then I think you'd have had a valid point as the police applicants are drawn from all echelons of society. But you seemed to talking about all applicants, which as I said, is a very sweeping statement.
I know it's sometimes difficult follow a nuanced comment, so I hope that clears that up for you.
As regards the failing recruitment process, are you saying that they were already killers and rapists when they joined, which would be a failing in the recruitment process, or are you saying they became killers and rapists after they joined, which would have absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with the recruitment process would it?

i think we should get rid of the police.
instead have a militia or local defence force that protects property, business etc and stops you on every street corner asking where you are going.
if you dont give the right answer you get beaten.
curfews from dusk to dawn with tanks in major cities and armed men with automatic rifles patrolling neighbourhood with a shoot to kill no questions asked policy.
the more people attack the police, the less people will want to join and serve the community like the one your in.
no one is perfect, the police are far from it but its better than some have in other counties.

I don’t disagree with much of your point, but also the post you are replying to might not have been tight enough with its language but its still correct.
A police recruitment process shouldn’t only be looking for existing crimes (are they already a killer or rapist), it needs to be assessing if people are the type to exploit a position of power in ways that could then allow them to conceal criminal behaviour. How they do that (or if they do already) i am not sure. Presumably some sort of psych evaluation is included. |

"Never forget the nice Strathclyde Policeman who called me a Fenian Bastard at a game, such a charming fuck wit.
Perhaps things jave changed, but I doubt it." I’ve found most (‘lady’ ones usually) I’ve been unfortunate enough to have to liaise with, were quite (and not exaggerating) insane. |

Wouldn’t that be great? They could also use the same methods to screen out politicians that take us into unwarranted wars, all those serial killers in the NHS and teachers that bully and abuse kids.
Sadly, I don’t think such assessments really exist. It’s a bit like that sci-fi film with Tom Cruise, locking up people for crimes not yet committed. We’re not at that level of behavioural predictions yet.
Pity though.

I genuinely thought there was some sort of assessment to make sure police officers recruited were not prime for being targeted by or associated with criminals. Is that just from a bribery / corruption aspect then? |

That sort of assessment would be around their family connections, known friends, where they live and their financial situation.
The downside will be that it will also exclude good people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, meaning the police come from a less diverse pool, which is also a common cause for complaint!
Tough old world isn’t it?
