Make yourself known if you believe this is justified, that Israel does this to the other side and so on. What just happened is as follows: death squads entered Israel by breaking down security fences, landing from ships at sea and even paragliding through the air. I am calling them death squads because their only concern was to massacre as many people as they could, literally, trucks of armed men going street to street shooting people praying. Then they took some Israelis hostage, and brought them back to Gaza, along with some dead bodies which they are parading about. Okay, settlements are bad. A lot of Palestinians get killed when Israel attacks terrorist infrastructure. But this is unprecedented. They signed their death warrant, and do not deserve any sympathy. The population, civilians included, are currently jubilant on social media and the streets, because they managed to do this. This is SICK!

It deserves every comment. No matter what side of the conflict someone is on, Israel doesn’t kill civilians for sport. How could they do so and expect the Arabs to forge ties with them? They retaliate, often less discriminately than they portray themselves to be, but they do not send death squads out.

We know this is what happened because they openly celebrate it. They post videos on social media of all of it. You cannot deny the reality that they sent death squads into Israel because they are literally celebrating it. I’m not saying Israel is good, I think the settlements are blatantly colonisation. But to say anything other than this is despicable is abhorrent yourself.

What's going on is shocking but not surprising and is sadly simply another chapter in a conflict where International laws have been allowed to be trampled upon over decades but is only one small segment in a limitless capacity by some on both sides, (supported by others in doing so) to inflict needless pain and suffering upon the other side..

Its almost impossible to properly discuss this without falling foul of the IHRA (and therefore the legal one as well in many countries) definition of antisemitism so one side in the discusion is vastly over protected from critisism.

Both side regularly behave atrociously though.

Aahhhh the difficult subject of the Isreal and Palestine conflict. A subject far to big, complex and historic to discuss on a Swingers forum.

Both sides are at fault, but Isreal are opressing the people of the West Bank and using a disprotionate ammount of force to do so, this coupled with the current Isrealli governments shift to near facism you can see why the Palestinian people fight back. But, the Palestinians are led by a group who seem to think violence is the answer.

The song Road To Peace by Tom Waits sums up the situation far better than any biased news coverage

They don’t send death squads into refugee camps. Why would the Arabs be gradually normalising ties with Israel if they did that?! It’s a lie, because the truth is, the civilians and terrorists are more closely connected than otherwise. Why else would they be parading bodies on the streets? Celebrating on social media?

It didn’t use to be this much of a power disparity. They tried to wipe israel out with massive field armies at first. That didn’t work. So they resorted to terrorism. You can inflict a lot of damage with terrorists, even if you get smashed by a Tyson right hook in return. What would israel have to gain by being Tyson and beating up the midget for sport? You think they’re demonic? Satanic?

OP I lived in Israel when they retaliated against the shooting of their ambassador to the UK - they invaded Lebanon that year, the sabra and chatilla massacres happened because Ariel Sharon let the phalangists take over the palestinian refugee camps, Israel has the palestinians in Gaza in a ghetto and reacts in a disproportionate way to each time an incident happens (resulting in more hatred and potential acts of terrorism in the future).

Your initial comment is not balanced. I also know that in expressing comments like this I get called a terrorist sympathiser (and have been expelled from a FB group that had all my friends from israel in it).

Personally I can only see it getting worse as the Israelis have become more right wing and a are led by a corrupt PM.

I didn’t actually notice this but you’re making it out like Israel committed that massacre!! It wasn’t. The Lebanese were doing the massacring. That Israel refused to intervene is awful. But it’s not the same.

Which Arab state is democratic and its leaders represents the views of its people. Most of them are run by authoritarians who's interest is lining their own pockets. They invest their country's moneys in assets in the West. Look at football Manchester City, Newcastle United and PSG etc.

The cosy up to Israel because they don't want their wealth in the west jeopardised in the west by possible sanctions like Iran has.

Between 2,000 and 3,500 people were killed. Not as bad? Also 40 years ago, just shows how long Israel has been doing this! The number of Palestinians who have been killed by the Israeli state is shocking. Last time i was there an 18 year old with a machine gun dragged my palestinian taxi driver and an american palestian out of the car leaving me a white Brit alone - it is racism and state sponsored terrorism.

Israel was in charge of the Palestinian refugee camps. Ariel Sharon had recognised that if thephalangests had control there would be massacres. Ariel Sharon (the general in charge) pulled Israeli troops out for yom kippur and left it to the phalangests to massacre over 2000 palestinians - israel was responsible (you better do some history, i can excuse it cos you are only 24, but you did go to Uni, so maybe use that education)

That is exactly what I said. They didn’t intervene. But they didn’t do the massacring. I said it was awful. It should be condemned. It does not explain why death squads have just been sent into Israel by land, sea and air to roam and kill people wherever they can find them. THIS IS MADNESS! In war bad things happen and no one really wins ad for every action taken by Palestinian fighters can be matched by Israel and doubled.

Killing is killing and in my humble opinion all killing is wrong but that’s just me but then I feel that when a Palestinian prison dies in a Israeli prison and has not served his full sentence and they bury them in the prison grounds until their sentence is finished is also wrong.

and you think when isreal hits back they only kill militants? When you keep people in what is basically an open air prison camp dont be surprised when they occasionally hit back, and the reason they hitting normal Israelis is because the leaders who they really want are sitting in comfort and saftey with plenty of protection

I dont find what either side has done can be justified. Who attacked the peace keepers in 1947, who spat at christians last week, who entertained Terry Waite. Nothing like what Hamas have just done, but indicates neither side has the moral high ground in this, and the reason I don't support either side.

Clearly the idea that jews could live in peace has just been put back 50 years, and despite gaza looking like like a flat wasteland by next week, they never will.

Hamas have stupidly listened to the regime that supported them, rest assured that regime will be on the places that will be attacked an Hamas eliminated.

Having your supplies (limited and under the table) from Iran, and getting them from the USA is very different in terms of how much devastation is caused, simply due to the disparity in technology

Theres no difference in the sheer horror of innocent people killed no matter what 'side' they are on, the losses are equally devastating for loved ones and families no matter if they are of Jewish or Palestinian heritage..

You send terrorists to massacre my people, I send an airstrike in response. Oh, but the airstrike kills more… it’s a tragedy either way, of course, but it’s not the same. I’m probably mistaken though, and you are extremely smart. Why not walk around Sderot with a skullcap now and see what happens? Maybe when they’re cutting you up, you can say “but the airstrikes after me will be even more deadly” and be at peace.

Israel hasn’t been in compliance of several un resolutions in decades.. and still keeps building settlements on what is globally perceived as Palestinian territory

Even now NGO’s are claiming that the latest Israeli tactics have been to shoot protesters specifically in the knees and ankles

From a military perspective I find it interesting that it hasn’t kicked off in the West Bank and the Lebanon border… but at this stage the Israeli army are stretched enough

It is a massive military intelligence failure by Israel to not see some this big coming… and they used missiles as cover to get people into Israel by air and sea

Generals and people in mossad are going to get sacked after this

Israel allows freedom of the press to all news agencies, including independents. Palestine doesn't. Their "news" is often completely fabricated.

Many of them are Labour supporters - hatred of Jews is in their nature. Never forget, in the entire course of human history, only 2 national political parties have been accused, and been found guilty of anti-semitic racism. The Nazi party at Nuremburg in 1946, and the Uk's Labour party by the Equality and Human Rights Commission in 2020.

Historically speaking, both sides have committed mistakes. Even the UN made some mistakes.

The videos you see of this attack shows the Israeli perspective of why they won't give up. They know that Palestine's ambition is not just about getting a free state anymore. It's to destroy the jews.

The fact that soldiers are parading a stripped off dead body of a woman, shouting their God's name tells you a lot about what kind of people Israel are dealing with.

Whoever did this (and you can never discount Mossad involvement - like was proven with our last election - despite the ever-fractured 'they' of beleaguered Palestinians being capable of wild acts of their own) the Palestinian will pay with scores of lives to every single even-injured Jewish Israeli.

And almost every busy world news day there is some kind of attack on Palestine hiding in the background.

Modern Israel has been recognised as an apartheid state since it's conception in 1947. The way it turned out is one of the biggest tragedies of the 2nd world war. It was actually meant to be relatively left wing(!), as were most Jews at the time. It turned out to ever-more hard-right, an embedded middle eastern base for the USA, and a corrupt global centre for dodgy global politics of every kind (the USA who have paid it billions every single year to make it the most per-capita armed place in the world).

The first parliamentarian the committee kicked out in 2019 was a Jewish woman, and it was all about Israel. As was the whole 'racism' committee really. Starmer later kicked out Corbyn because Corbyn refused to retract his lifelong politics to a ludicrous degree. But it's all about moving Labour into a centre-orbiting fully pro-Israeli party again. The return of New Labour sadly happened under Corbyn's nose, but Corbynism was all about 'working together'. Sadly that aspect was never going to work. When he got within 600 cross-constituent votes of Theresa May he should have made his shadow cabinet and his policies entirely his own.
