Just heard it compared to Alan Partridge when he found out his BBC contract was not being renewed so he started reeling off TV programme ideas to see what might stick.
They are sounding a bit desperate. The secret weapon will be tax cuts (the old put up then put back down before the GE trick). |

“Truss is the catalyst. Someone else will replace Sunak if he doesn’t return the Party to conservatism. High taxes means people might as well vote Labour. At least the money is spent on taxpayers and not given to their mates.” |

Yeah but Corbyn! He was in part his own worst enemy as on the one hand appeared to have strongly held principles (which deserves respect regardless of whether you agree with them) but always flip flopped around when confronted on “difficult topics” so a bit like nailing jelly to the wall. His history was also a godsend to the right wing media who destroyed him. For ME he was too in thrall to Momentum, but then I am not a socialist. |

I'm in agreeance here. Labour made great strides in 2017. Absolutely blew it in 2019. If they don't find themselves in Government next year, they'll have lost that too. |

I agree and if labour win an outright majority I don't have a problem with it. It'll give the Tories the kick up the arse they need I hope. However I'm concerned about the possibility of a liblab coalition and what the libs would demand. |

. Luckily the electorate are not stupid and make rational decisions . The results of the last three elections are proof of that. No ome can argue with the votes cast on election day. What happens the day before or the day after the count is irrelevant .
The current government will be elected for another term . Most people are better off now than they were thirteen years ago. |

I agree, policy wise Labour under Starmer are pretty fucking useless. Basically Tory-lite. I think the main difference would be less fear based rhetoric aimed at foreigners, and less self serving corruption. |

. Luckily we live in a free society. Most rational people would recognise that the Daily Mail has a substantial readership ( around two million daily ) . It is only to be expected that not everyone will agree with the points made by their various columnists . However what matters is the majority view. They are an extremely successfull newspaper and employ many talented journalists . The newspaper has also won many press awards.

Well, if it were the blue of the old - pre-Thatcher - conservatives you might be somewhere near right. But this bunch are a much more vicious breed, so, no, a government under SKS will not be basically just a change of colour. |
