Tom is a big fan of the American people which boast burgers as their national dish. Let's face it. Everyone loves a beefburger.

But why oh why is ex President Donold Trump being arrested repeatedly? Surely it's not in any national interest. Now Tom stays out of meddling in other countries matters but time to move on and let him enjoy his retirement. There is more to this than meets the eye..

Because he'd patently a bigger fucking crook than Nixon! He's also not in "retirement", but slinging shit like crazy to get himself re-elected, so he can crook some more!

Serious crimes call for serious measures. The insurrection resulted in many lives being lost, for example. He likely was instrumental in destroying democracy too and is vocal about his need to be reelected, so appears to demonstrate a significant danger to the country.

Fair punishment for serious crimes seems the necessary approach, potentially to act as a deterrent.

It’s all theatre Tom. Those ‘in power’ have to be seen to be doing something. Watch and see, absolutely nothing will come of this and behind the scenes I can guarantee it’ll all look very different

It’s not in the national interest to arrest individuals accused of tampering with an election, falsifying records and intimidating government officials? That’s news to me.

I see a pattern… it just happens to be a pattern of “not knowing what you are talking about!”

Actually no one in the senate did vote down the result!

The federal prosecutors have been smart where they have not charged trump with removing the documents from Washington…. They have charged him with not giving them back when asked, and the obstruction of moving them about so people wouldn’t know where they were, and then wiping servers from his resorts to remove footage of documents being moved… and showing documents to people who didn’t have the clearance!!!!

When documents were found to be at bidens (and Mike pence) residence, they were given back at the first opportunity when made aware! That is the difference!

Because as factually correct information it has been on news outlets that have no bias or axe to grind, such as France24.Also there are a growing number of Democrats unhappy at the political weaponisation of the US Justice system. The FBI themselves revealed publicly that Hilary took and then destroyed documents, also revealing Bidens removal and storage of documents. If you only watch the Biased Broadcasting Corporation or read the Guardian, then Biden is of sound mind, has not rejected the paternity of an illegitimate daughter his son has which DNA proved over a decade ago, his son is not a class A drug addict and has not signed a "sweetheart" deal with prosecutors in the first phase of a raft of criminal chargers coming his way,he hasn't had firearms offences rejected as part of that deal and hasn't taken over a million dollars from Russia for as yet unexplained "work".

So it’s based upon a news source that you personally trust, rather than one you don’t?

That’s fine, perfectly understandable. Now how do you know that the information is accurate and reported without bias?

Seems to me Tom that he just wouldn't follow the narrative of the time, he did his own thing that was against the world agenda.

Anything the man did was criticised and I found that strange, very strange when I compared other presidents.

You are going to start finding that certain states will ask the question of is he allowed to be on the ballot under the 14th amendment which disqualifies anyone running for any federal position who has given any aid or comfort to an insurrection….. it will almost certainly end up at the Supreme Court

So many untruths here … you threw so much shit at the wall so let see what does pass the old smell test!

The difference between the Biden and Pence case's and the trump case is actually simple… Jack smith was smart

Trump has NOT .. let’s repeat that…NOT been charged with taking the documents out of Washington! He has been charged with not giving back documents once he was made aware of what he had… he has been charge with deliberately obstructing getting those documents about by falsely telling the DOJ he had, and moving them so authorities could not find them! He has been charge with trying to wipe security camera footage from the hotel servers to remove evidence of him moving the documents… and he has been charged with showing the documents to people without the needed security clearance!

When Biden and pence were made aware they may have documents, and the DOJ asked for them back… they cooperated with authorities at all times at the first available opportunity!!!

That is the difference!!!!!!

Also… the Hunter Biden “sweetheart” deal…. Not as sweetheart as you’d think!

2 charges of not paying his taxes in 2 specific years! Actually it is rarely charged! And whilst it is a felony… in 99% if the rarely charged is charged… it would have been a misdemeanour (especially in cases where all the money has been paid back… with interest!)

The other charge was getting a gun whilst he was a drug user… again! Rarely charged! They would never have known if it wasn’t for his autobiography! And the fact it is wiped from the record after 3 year is normal…. Think of it like speeding where instead of the points they give you the option of a speed awareness course!

You could argue that the Hunter Biden has actually been treated more harshly!

There are also 2 election interference cases… one federal and deals with January 6th based out of Washington… one state election interference case based out of Atlanta

The Georgia case is the three part.. 1 part tampering with election machines .. 1 part getting people to falsely act as official state officials (the fake electors) and 1 part interfering and tampering with election officials (ruby freeman, shay moss, and trying to get the Georgia Secretary of State to change the vote numbers.. the infamous “find me 11780 votes” call)

The Georgia case is an absolute minimum of 5 years as it’s being brought as a RICO case

The secret documents case would be an absolute minimum of 17.5 years under federal sentencing guidelines just because of the way that points are totted up as the files themselves are the most top secret

The federal election case… I will find out for you…

Age, previous occupation and national popularity are not exculpatory factors. Society relies on Laws to maintain the peace. No-one is above the Law.

Trump is relying on Executive Privilege to explain his behaviour. Since when does the work of an executive officer legally include insurrections against their own Government?

I get the feeling that Trump's supporters find all this 'great sport' while his detractors find it all utterly depressing. That says it all to me.

I'm not a Biden fan normally (though he's sun vs rain compared to Trump), but apart from the foreign climes of Ukraine, he hasn't done much to want a change of direction. This is all about the 'sport' of fighting a perceived all-consuming (so non-defining) 'injustice' towards Trump - but it's all unjust only because the 'High God' says it is so. Without the blind faith it's like believing in a pagan god made of pond water.

This has gone way beyond any 'grump' over Obama or the neoliberals Trump was always part of. Trump scares the shit out of me largely because of what the pagan masses in American (and sadly beyond) will *do* for him. It's fucking terrifying.

This is the exact equivalent of Boris Johnson being popular enough to win the leadership race with the hardcore Conservative Party membership vs him doing well with the entire population in a general election

If he wasn’t that much of a liability… mps would never have thrown him overboard!

It’s the same reason as why trump will win the republican nomination, but get crushed in the general election… because there is not one state trump lost last time in 20 that he would regain in 24!

Of the 7 states he contested were wrong last time with the fake electors (Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico) republicans didn’t win any state senate races in 22 when trump was the supposedly leader of the party… and trump would need 4 of those 7 to have a shot in 24!

I don't know enough about American politics to dispute any of that I'm just looking forward to everyone losing their shit because Trump is running.

"I get the feeling that Trump's supporters find all this 'great sport' while his detractors find it all utterly depressing. That says it all to me."

I'd say it was Trump's detractors that are finding it 'great sport'. They seem to be getting very excited about piling up the indictments, and backing him into a corner, saying that 'this time we'll finally get him'. The other side are righteously outraged that their man is being so unjustly hounded by the liberal elite. That's why trump does so well, there's something for everyone.

Why? I just find that (and all of it really, given how long this has lasted) so vulgar ultimately. I wonder what we all deserve sometimes. If he runs then it will be from jail. Because I just can't see America messing this one up. They've gone the long road, they have to finish the job. But who knows. They'll be the laughing stock for however we all have left if Trump runs again as a free man, with or without Republican support.

It does sort of affect us. If Trump wins, we'll have to get used to him being on the news every other day. The other guy only gets shown when he falls over.

In your humble opinion. People lost their lives on Jan 6th '21. I doubt their families felt 'unaffected' by it all. Trump got what he wanted - to be more globally popular than the 'Muslim' Negro Obama he hates with every ounce of his body (and no I'm not a massive Obama fan either). One thing Trump does know is that America affects the whole world.

Trump effects the whole world, as I went on to say.

Look at Andrew Tate, he was always on Right-wing podcasts supporting Trump. Trump is more popular globally than even he is, as he represents populism in its purest and most primal (ie inhuman) form. Trump is the crest of the rise of proto-new-fascism, the global push to cancel decency itself by pretending that everything that is 'good' is being cancelled by it.

First of all Xi Jinping is a classically 'odious' comparison, ie one that is made to divert. And it's another rather 'humble' political statement from you too, regarding Jinping's supposedly superior power to Trump!

Secondly, you have rather twisted this around! I wasn't telling anyone which way to go on Trump here - only that people are clearly being polarised *by design*. He is divisive by very instinct that man. I am saying that the pressures of popular/populist support are clearly there for people! As has happened so often in our collective past.

Yes I am primarily thinking of Hitler, who had no small amount of influence the UK in the 1930's. And all by design.

You have effectively admitted the 'influence argument' is true by saying you are 'big enough' to make up your own mind on whether it influences your thought or not. Well good for you. But so what? That wasn't the *point*.

And of course Jinping is a whole different matter to Trump - that discussion would depend on people's views on China.

"What has he done which is so wrong and illegal (As far as the law is concerned)

I actually hope he's re-elected.

*

Before all the scoffers and know-all's reply...... (Just remember, I have asked a question and stated my hopes above)

What has he done that so illegal?…. Okay… my answer above just relates to the secret documents case, which is based out of Miami

***************************************

So, what was his sentence or how much was he fined......??

I really do not know.

"

*************************************

I'm sorry but that does not provide an answer.

I asked what was the trial outcome and, if actually convicted, what sentence and/or fine(s) did he receive....?

People do realise that Trump hasn't ever accepted he lost the general election, or the the result in Georgia right?

Jan 6th was all about that!

He has accused people of massive corruption with zero evidence, and blatantly incited insurrection.

The nutcase has a history of not accepting a loss ever. He even said he'd contest the election before it happened. Who would want a man like that (let alone his hundreds of other sins) in power?

*What* exactly do people think he can do for them??

It will always be nothing, and he will *always* have an excuse.

And when he was employing Mexicans on low dollar for one of his failed enterprises (funny how he found himself on the books of an entertainment agent when his father died - you know, the dad who specialises in business bail outs) he'd have never have gone for 'the wall' too. The wall Mexico was supposed to pay for, as his podium-conducted political chants would go.

***************************************

So, what was his sentence or how much was he fined......??

I really do not know.

*************************************

I'm sorry but that does not provide an answer.

I asked what was the trial outcome and, if actually convicted, what sentence and/or fine(s) did he receive....?"

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Right sorry….

Right… at the moment….

Because of the right to a speedy trial act.. some of the 19 people involved in the Georgia case have envoked that so there trials could start as early as October 23, trump is trying to separate himself from this so the others in the Georgia case don’t have a trial start date yet…

The federal election case trial in Washington is due to start March 4 2024, the secret documents case trial in Miami is due to start in May 2024

"The way I look at it is can't get any worse. Atleast I get some satisfaction just like many others to watch people lose their shit. If he gets elected great. If not it will be 4 more years of utter bullshit. Time flies when you are having fun. It's basically the white collar vs blue collar. Let the games begin.# Trump 2024.

You know Trump couldn’t give two good fucks about the blue collar, right? people seem to think otherwise don't you think ? Maybe you should go look at the polling data.

What does polling on trump reveal about trump’s level of care for the working class? You can’t be that naive? I guess my whole county is that naive and you are the correct one ?

Do the whole country think trump cares about them, then? it was a close election now wasn't it ? We can try again. You bellyaching is solving what again? Nothing. If he wins you just going to have to deal with it correct? Just like if he loses I have to deal with the opposite side. The difference is I CAN effect the outcome. You just like thinking you are correct.

Oh I have no dog in the fight, beyond seeing the same problems in the USA that we have in the U.K - people being duped into voting for individuals/parties who work against their interests.

Trump’s reign hurt the working class and increased wealth disparity. Tax breaks for the rich. Fewer with health insurance. Slow clap. "

I remember more in my pocket. Why are UK junior doctors striking again ? I'll take my healthcare any day over yours.

Nah uh. You claim that trump cares about the blue collar workers. I dispute that, and didn’t mention Biden.

Trump’s actions harmed the working class. Nothing to do with Biden (who has done little to improve things) - your boy Trump did that.

Was it really a close election… in the popular vote, trump got 75 million votes… Biden got 82 million!

Also if we talk about the electoral college math it was 306-232 Biden…. When trump beat Hillary by exactly the same math in 16, he called it an election landslide…

Honestly, if Trump started a suicide cult when he's bunkered up and he realises all is lost (ie kind of like Hitler did but globally) I honestly wonder how many millions would jump with him?

Then unlike Hitler himself, Trump woudn't have the guts to go last, but would just go on and on and on to anyone who could hear about the sheer depth of support he had.

The saddest part is people like Biden, Hillary, and Trump have been the best credible prospects put forward in the past few years... You'd think a country like America could find better people to act as it's leader.

A lot of the Trump interest said they'd prefer Sanders to Clinton and consider voting for him - which shows how fucked up it all is politically. It's not 100% about Right-wing gammonism. Bernie was doing well enough to get to the top, but the Democrat's internal system essentially stopped it. It's the way the parties are set up there though.

Trump is a living nightmare, but like living nightmares he did shit a hole through the whole system for a good while. Too long a while, to America's eternal shame.

What has my control got to do with anything? And where is my delusion here? And why is the OP such a fan all the time if he wouldn't care? He never shuts up about Trump.

Why?

Because Trump represents certain values.

Do you realise how big Trump is globally? His pathological hatred of Obama (on and on for years about passports and Islamism) was entirely about seeing a black man more successful than he was. Trump has hated black people as long as I remember, and I remember the 80's (And I've been taking daily 'Donald Trumps' ever since).

About the only thing I would ever give Trump was that he eventually managed to become an even more globally worshipped president than Obama (and I'm not even much of an Obama fan). He did it by instinctively tapping into the animalistic vileness in weak minded people. He is core primal. To my mind, pure evil.

To my mind, pure evil.

pt"

yup we are all animalistic weak minded evil people. Even though the majority of people I socialize with are fantastic human beings. There are right leaning people of other races if you are not aware. In your delusional mind anyone that votes for trump is a racist. Yet I go to the Republican headquarters in my county and see a melting pot of people. Yet you try and champion something you want a opinion on. I see that you are wrong. In my opinion you are the vile one .

"Honestly, if Trump started a suicide cult when he's bunkered up and he realises all is lost (ie kind of like Hitler did but globally) I honestly wonder how many millions would jump with him?

Then unlike Hitler himself, Trump woudn't have the guts to go last, but would just go on and on and on to anyone who could hear about the sheer depth of support he had.

pt

Can we assume you don't like Trump .. why ?

If I spent a little while on a good long list, would you promise to Jump With Trump? It would be so totes worth the repetition then. It would be kind-of like marching to my death camp otherwise.

pt

Why would he care? Again you are being delusional of something you can't control.

What has my control got to do with anything? And where is my delusion here? And why is the OP such a fan all the time if he wouldn't care? He never shuts up about Trump.

People are dead because of Trump and his refusal to lose than election. America is bleeding, still. But I have *some* faith in them they will finally cut down their own evil man. And when they do with the world beside me I will find myself crying in love and in hope. Trump tried to bring down the entire country because he could never handle losing. Spoilt from birth he is a monster. He's is the old-school demagogue, and as Jane Austin once observed, half of everyone has always been self-interested and amoral - and potentially supportive of the worst. But the future has caught up with us. The fools now have phones (QAnon anyone? Trump's a fan!) For us to survive in the world today and for us to HAVE a future, at some point soon that finally untenable statistic HAS to change.

You made the statement not Trump.

"

This was reported in 2020:

"Since taking office, the Trump administration has sought to reverse healthcare protections for trans people, moved to ban trans people from serving in the military, eliminated rules protecting trans students, and pushed to allow businesses to turn away gay and trans customers if they seek a religious exemption."

He's back at it for 2024, characteristically describing the whole complex age debate in general it seems as "the disfigurement of our youth".

It's the way you tell em eh?

Also (on homosexuality in general).. "last month, the Trump justice department made its most aggressive anti-gay legal argument to date, urging the supreme court to rule that gay employees are not protected under a longstanding act that prohibits “sex discrimination”.(!)

Yes he's after deSantis now, so it was always going to get even worse.

But does it make it right?

To my mind, pure evil.

pt

************************************

Get a grip man, I've not read such absolute rubbish in ages.

You're on a bandwagon to nowhere.

Get off it.

Get a grip 'man' eh? Nice to see your testosterone rising up.

Trump is ALL ABOUT polarising people. Have you seen his chants? Have you seen him speak?

It is all he does.

Any Trump fan is an utter hypocrite to pick that up in anyone else about Trump, when endlessly-engendering this very thing is ALL their man could ever do. He's got no governmental history. He was the president of personal hate.

Just like every tyrant in history like him.

pt

**********************************

Well, Mr Trump has really 'polarised' you.

Why have you so much pure hatred in you...??

"

You have literally answered your own question. It's what he does! Trump doesn't lead with ideas, he gets people to dislike each other, and to feel threatened by each other. And of course with reactionary policies like he typically has, it works.

People talk of "hope", but I've only ever heard one thing from his mouth that even slightly relates to that: MAGA! I have my own - WTF kind of policy is that? It means nothing. Zero. Nothing. And it produced nothing.

There is no point going there… they will pretend January 6th never happened or was so overblown….

And then they will say it only happened because the vote was rigged… of which there is zero legal proof otherwise surely they would have brought it up in at least 1 of the 63 legal cases they lost after the election

Funny enough under oath and threat of perjury… never brought it before a court once

The 'fake' fair election is a modern conspiracy theory - ie post-truth. Much more powerful than mere truth.

So you think you are correct. Yet the polls are saying otherwise. The only reason you think you are a pariah is because of your own personal opinion. Just like others. Ask yourself truly why. Looks like it's going to be a rematch.

Lots of news speak but that's our modern times.

I fully expect Trump to walk like every other politician or leader does, very few are convicted of a crime guilty or not.

Well when I saw all the debacle and attempts to punish him, I was surprised why because they all walk always, and trump isn't, everything is not as it seems someone who isn't part of the gang is in power over them.

Trump does what he wants when he wants and F%$K the rest kinda guy, so no narrative unlike all the other leaders, Trump was saying different things, ruining the news speak, letting people follow a different narrative, and if trump was in power I do not think this present cost of living crisis would not of occurred simply because he wouldn't follow the narrative like other leaders.

Like labour changing their narrative now to suit the order when they come to power, trump wouldn't do this so they do not want him in IMO.

Where am I a 'pariah'?! It's not the word you meant I think. And when did populist polling ever disprove a logical argument?! Hitler was huge in late-1930's Germany, that meant fuck to the 'case against' him.

Trump is not actually polling like he was, so I'd read better 'news' if I were you.

When CNN is reporting that Biden is very unpopular and Trump has a serious attempt to reclaim the White House. Maybe you should learn what news sources are. Notice I didn't quote a fox source . https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/07/politics/joe-biden-2024-reelection-donald-trump/index.html

I have Democrat friends wishing they didn't vote for Biden in 2020. It's going to be a Epic run up to the election.

For me my observations have been political leaders saying the same narrative, the world is going through a cost of living crisis, and all are listening to the same narrative from these leaders.

Trump did not do such a thing, he went the other way, denying covid going to Korea his fiscal decisions I am not saying that's good, but different and maybe a reason as to where he is now.

Finally China has stopped listening to the west and are busy making ties with African nations and other socialists so nothing new here as they no longer listen to the west narrative as well.

-Good sourcing, but we get this same thing in the UK - when people are polled on comparative terms it's always different to individual ones. It happens in party politics, and is partly why I don't like particularly like it. People are pushed to go either/or when they don't need to. That story is indeed about how badly Biden is currently seen though.

I'm afraid to say though that most neutral pundits (economists and the like) don't see Biden's presidency as being *all that bad* especially given how little Trump did himself, so it's really up to his camp on how well they present that to the people at election time (whoever they face - I'm sure it won't be Trump). At least Bernie won't have sequestered all their brains next time. Hilary delivered a nightmare campaign, yet even then managed to win the election headcount if you remember. Popular though he was, Trump essentially won because someone else spectacularly failed.

Trump is obviously less popular now than he was in the past. Biden is less popular too, but is Biden less popular than Clinton was back then? Look at it like that and a similar turnout would go to Biden if he was facing Trump anyway.

Honestly, I can't see the Democrat's making the same mistakes again. Not with all the billions that go into American politics. They will (as ever) need a decent turnout though - everyone does. And whoever they are up against, it will be an utter chump.

There is zero point looking at a national election poll as it’s basically 52 separate elections…. And the advantage the democrats have is that the Michigan Republican Party is a mess ruined by trump … the Arizona Republican Party is a mess ruined by trump, the Wisconsin Republican Party is a mess ruined by trump and the Georgia Republican Party (well the bit not part of the election interference case) is in civil war…..caused by trump

To win the election trump needs to win back 4 of Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada… and keep everything he won last time

The thing that will also scupper trump is that abortion rights are also going to be on some of the ballots in November… and as soon as trump utters the words “federal abortion ban” that is going to be clipped up and played in every single attack ad… and trump will double down on it!

You keep using this term narrative, but what are you actually trying to get across? Are you regurgitating someone else’s propaganda or are you genuinely trying to make a point.

What exactly is “the narrative” that all these world leaders have been using?

I don’t follow your argument when you say that Trump denied covid and visited North Korea and therefore could have averted a cost of living crisis. How does one even follow the other?

And which political leaders? Just English speaking countries or European countries or all of them?

What’s the “narrative” in Indonesia? Brazil? Japan? Argentina?

And his decision making has certainly led to him being where he is now. Facing multiple criminal charges and quite frankly acting like a despotic monarch who’s power has been toppled.

I worry that certain phrases get thrown around as short hand for something, but people don’t understand what it is they are actually saying.

You know I had just wrote a reply to your question, but on here I realise I do not have to explain myself to you or anyone else, and vice versa.

If you're confused by my posts so be it, but from what I can read from past posts on here and the arguments I have read and the insults that are thrown about.

I know I have no wish to involved in all that, but that doesn't mean I cannot post without fear of the longstanding posters putting their ore in.

for your beliefs I would support you, because if I didn't who would support me in my beliefs you take care now..
