The bar was set so low by Johnson and Truss with the level of scandal reaching such epic proportions, that anyone would seem like an improvement. I am just hoping they get back to doing the job they are here to do quietly and boringly! |

It looks like they are, however those that want to give everyone 3 beans and a glass of water and we will all like it as part of a fair society, might not agree |

This leads me to the question: Sunak steadied the ship, or not?"
Are you kidding? Highest inflation in G7 and about to have the biggest teachers strike in history. I know he didn’t create the problems but it’s still his job to fix them. Energy price regulation should be a no brainier to fix and will ease inflation and could keep us from a real recession |

I was greatly surprised that no one mentioned the "Jingle and Mingle" incident. It seems that if it's not directly related to Brexit or Boris, no one is interested.
I'm hoping that, as those 2 things receed into the distance, we can get back to discussing actual issues. |

Not really. It seems more that a state of crisis is normalising.
We are becoming habituated to disruption and poor outcomes. |

Yes certainly seems calmer than before though not really a surprise given the turmoil that went before. I read today that it's looking likely that the horizon scheme will be settled very soon. |

No his policies are left of centre. And the right of centre have given up on him . Hence his terrible polling.
They can't complain when they've got one of theirs in charge. |

The Tories haven't scored an own goal in a while. The stories are all from the Boris era it seems. High inflation is no longer new. Likewise cost of living. |

Went over his policies in another thread that led to the thread on the political compass. I highlighted the economic spending, increased tax etc, hidden taxes, suggestions of market caps on prices, subsidising energy are all left of centre.
Ironic that people believe that Boris had to leave after an fpn but rishi has had 2 and people want him kept in.
There was a survey just the other day.
Around 43% of lib dems prefer rishi on charge and 37% of remainers.
That says it all.

" is he more left than Boris and the gang? Yes, possibly.
So I can see that libs and labs would prefer him in charge versus BJ
Is he left compared to the us spectrum. Maybe.
Is he more left than the median Brit. Not sure. And tbh I'd probably use that as my guide as centre.
That said, my view is it's just a lack of new news.
