According to this tweet:
"The LGBTQIA+ community is at higher risk of the catastrophic effects of the climate crisis. We stand with all Rainbow Rebels at #PrideInLondon ??????
There’s #NoPrideinEcocide - we must remember pride’s protest roots, and not permit pinkwashing!"
I'm confused as fuck, can anyone help me out? |

I’m guessing, but it’s probably to do with the regions most susceptible to greater levels of climate change also being some of the regions that are most inhospitable to LGBTQ+ groups.
If it’s not that, I’m out of ideas. |

That just doesn't make sense to me.
Why would the LGBTQ community be more susceptible specifically to climate chnage than any other person? |

The simple answer is they aren't but criminals do like to make themselves heard. |

Ok I looked into this.
Broadly speaking, LGBTQ+ are most likely to suffer and be discriminated against, as well as being less likely to be able to relocate due to cash/contacts - and the regions that are going to be most susceptible to people relocating due to climate change are also regions that are most anti-LGBTQ+
I understand what they’re trying to say, but it’s a tenuous argument and one that needs a thorough explanation rather than a single tweet.

Broadly speaking?
I understand they may be more likely to be discriminated against in comparison to others. Speaking of location, lets use London, is the LGBTQ community more susceptible than say Londoners?
Or are you saying if someone within that community wanted to move to Salisbury for instance, that Salisbury is more anti-LGBTQ than London? |

I’m not saying anything, I’m giving you what (as far as I can see) is extinction rebellion’s logic for their statement.
And I think they’re talking about other nations rather than towns a short train ride from London…. |

Whoever is in charge of their comms needs to rethink their messaging! It needs to be simple, understandable, and punchy to have any effect. |

On this topic I once got in a row on twitter with some folks brandishing ‘defund the police’ because I thought it was a shit, nonsensical stance in a nation which has seen police numbers cut severely in the past two decades.
They spent several paragraphs explaining why we needed to increase spending on rehabilitation, drug programmes, youth clubs etc (all of which I agree with) - and that’s why we need to ‘defund the police’
The point I’m inelegantly trying to make - many well-meaning groups need better comms people. |

By far the worst is Just stop oil.
The same mouth pieces running the show are in charge of comms and think their messages are hitting all the right notes, couple that with their appalling child like behaviour and you have the most annoying group of people in the country. |

To be fair to Morley he comes across as no fan of Sunak. He has a bit of a crush on Truss and bromance with Johnson, but not so with our current PM. |

Its a deliberate attempt to attach their prostest to a larger more popular body.
I dont see how they could substantiate their statement but then they know they dont need to. they just need to get their message out there and enough idiots will believe it and jump on board. |
