So tounge in cheek, a space craft has arrived and wants to know about humanity, how its ruled etc

In short, how would you describe it? Imagine describing money and currency to them?

A human being needs, shelter, water, food and hear. Yet charged for it

Think they would just shake their heads and just do one?

If they were clever enough to get here anyway, you would hope that they might have found out some of these answers in advance!

So do you think my 7 bed house, Perrier water, caviar and underfloor heating system should be free?

I'd describe it as highly likely to be a military scout vessel, with a larger more powerful heavily-armed "mothership" not far away.

.

Why ?

.

Because if we examine the concept of "Survival of the Fittest" in evolutionary terms, we see that only the strongest, most adaptable and flexible, most aggressive lifeforms survive.

.

Space is an incredibly hostile environment. The technology required to survive space is one thing. To master it and travel light years is far beyond our current understanding.

.

To have developed that level of technology would have required immense effort, and that's where survival comes in.

.

Conflict and war are the most likeliest drivers of said technological advancement. We only need look at our own development for parallels.

.

If you've developed the technology to travel light years through the hostile environment of space, then you'd be no stranger to the weaponisation of said technology.

.

And if you are sending a craft to another world with unknown lifeforms, it's not going to be defenceless, nor will it be alone without some sort of backup available.

.

Personally, there would be no need to describe anything tangible at least to them. They would already know from scanning and observation.

.

Nuanced human emotion might be trickier for them, but again I'd assume they'd have their own anthropologists and would have some clue at least.

.

Personally, I suspect it would go something along the lines of when the Conquistadors met the Aztec empire. Except some elements of the human empire would try to seek advantage and tech over other human elements (as well as finding out the visitor's weaknesses)

If they were clever enough to get here id like to think there clever enough to see how we are to each other that they would think lets give them mad fuckers a swerve, then again it they had got all the way here they would be coming for a reason and that would be resources so we wouldnt be lasting long anyway

"If they were clever enough to get here anyway, you would hope that they might have found out some of these answers in advance!"

Very true!

The idea that an organic life form would visit earth from such distances is probably the first part of the puzzle.

Why would a visit to Earth be from organic matter and not from a light wave or greater than that, offering a view of Earth rather than physically travelling here?

If that is a more feasible way of alien exploration they could look in and leave at anytime undetected.

Actually, that's the comment in a way I'm on about? ...

Try to explain to alien race, how we have certain families with money whilst others are poor? Then try and explain to them about religion, never mind why it's history ....

It's almost like putting the human race on trial ??

This happened in Star Trek. Piccard managed to convince them that humans are good and worth saving.

Was that with Q? Used to like star trek as actually asks questions about our own society... and see it through a judgement role
