How long is this going to drag on for?

They'll be talks going on behind the scenes. Quid pro quo and what-not. I doubt we'll hear much of this now as it gets swept under the rug. People have short memories unless the media start telling them to focus on an issue again.

Seriously? The opposition parties will be baying for blood and there is no way something like this can be swept under the carpet. Too many people have an interest in making sure it goes the whole way for it to be hushed up.

good for all other parties but Labour could make the biggest gains from it. After (rightly) complaining of Westminster and wrong doings this has come back to bite them - if proven of course

I suspect the police are not limited to Monday to Friday. What I find a little odd is did they need to actually arrest her. Is there not a system where she could have helped them with their enquiries just by appointment

I guess, the police didn't actually arrest her, more likely invite her in for questioning... which they do on weekends quite often, take a statement then give it to the c.p.s

They will go through it and see if there is anything to go on.

Imho nothing will come of it, as for the s.n.p ... nothing will change

You think the Westminster account deadline of 31 May ‘signs off’ SNP party accounts ?

July deadline looming for the Electoral Commission accounts…

Meanwhile the last statement of account for the SNP bank account showed a balance of less than £50k…. so where’s the ring fenced balance?

"How long is this going to drag on for?"

I think it is concerning that there has been such high profile targeting of senior SNP officials and as yet - no charges.

All fraud, be it low-level petty fraud, mid-level fraud (irregularities - as is being alleged in this case), or high level multi-million pound fraud - is wrong… it’s all wrong.

It just seems odd that the SNP is being systematically destroyed as a credible political Party over a “relatively” minor sum. Meanwhile, high profile Tory donors seem able to walk off into the sunset together with their super yachts because there is no energy to investigate Covid fraud.

I dunno, I may be off the mark but it just seems all a bit off somehow.

I don't think that you are off the mark at all.

The SNP has been a thorn in the side of this government and it would be no surprise to find out that they (or their masters) are using whatever means they can to try and destroy it.

As you mentioned, corruption, syphoning of funds, irregularities with COVID contracts have, on many cases, been washed over yet amount to a far greater value than what has been quoted by the media as being an irregularity in the SNP funds,

There is however no smoke without fire and if there are irregularities or theft, this needs to be investigated and those responsible, punished.

It is a pity that the same rules don't seem to apply across the board.

Scottish devolution has been a disaster.

The UK has basically allowed a bunch of "independence" obsessed parish councillors with tinpot dictator tendencies to run a country.

Their "independence" dream was over in 2014 yet they've continued to run Scotland despite having zero administrative or managerial ability and no ideas beyond another Referendum (which they would have lost again).

The Deposit Return Scheme is a case in point. Businesses have wasted hundreds of millions of pounds preparing for this disastrous scheme which was being implemented by the useless Green Lorna Slater (who appears to be on some kind of extended gap yah from Canada, and who decided to hang around a bit longer to destroy Scottish businesses).

Lock them up.

This is no different to any other Government that is in power with too little opposition for too long.

Corruption and impunity sets in.

Unless someone understands the Scottish legal system, which has some quite fundamental differences with English law, it is impossible to say what the baseline is let alone the political overlay.

Not quick, I imagine.

Although I fully expect Labour to win the next GE I am thinking it will be a half decent majority as opposed to a landslide. I've heard before that in general Labour need to do well in Scotland to win outright across the UK. If any SNP voters feel like shifting their vote I think Labour will most likely be where most will go. This is just opinion

Leeds

What the electorate will want to hear from sks if he's to win them back.

Scotland will want to hear "more devolution or more money to scotland" or they'll vote snp.

The red wall will ant to hear levelling up plans, probably scrapping hs2, immigration policy.

London will want to hear about rent control and affordable mortgages.

In general they'll want him to define a woman, whether he will work with snp lib dems. What his brexit policies are.

He will also have to put together rhis tax and spending plans. For this he should probably ditch reeves.

Shes an embarrassment at this point.
