So… how badly is this going to go for Fox News?

I am fascinated about how fox will have to pay to even try and settle

I'm assuming that Fox understands that it's best for them to settle out of court, so that they can limit the levels of damage to them. There appears to be a strong case and Fox didn't appear to have made full disclosure of all details, including Murdoch's position, until very late*. *There's presumably no certainty of full disclosure, with sufficient time for Dominium to fully prepare.

I think you would be looking at a big old cheque with at least 10 digits on it to even consider it… the problem for dominion is that it would probably have a gag order attached and fox would not concede or admit any liability

If dominion are saying fox went out to ruin their business by smearing them.. if fox are found guilty it makes all the other cases easier!

That is why trump went mental on social media last night… if fox have to admit they lied and knowingly lied for trump for viewers it destroys the voting fraud claims

It would be a big payout but only become fox wouldn't want to have the publicity etc. Obviously any impact on their share price is goimg to be a consideration, as well as what their rabid viewers may perceive.

I didn't know that of Trump last night

A confidential settlement has surely to be the outcome?

Well the “discovery” with the stuff the dominion side made public has been really damming stuff which was why the Fox News side we’re desperate to get the case thrown out before then… and with the judge in the case going to instruct the jurors that fox did in fact lie, the question being was it malicious intent or just reckless

Reckless gets the case tossed… malicious intent gets a huge cheque!

Yep…. Almost 800 million dollars AND they got Fox News to publicly admit that some of their news/opinion hosts made false statements about the company

Fox said in a statement: "We acknowledge the court's rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false.

"This settlement reflects Fox's continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards."

I wonder if the person who came up with the second part, managed to keep a straight face.

Remember dominion still have lawsuits pending against lawyers Sidney Powell and Rudy, Mike lindell (the my pillow guy) and tv networks Newsmax and OAN

If fox caved… and they did! Dominion is going to bankrupt those others…

It's a shame that it didn't go to trial, seeing Tucker Carson etc on the stand being forced to read out the emails they'd sent would have been a fantastic piece of theatre.
