China deployed 19 fighter planes and 3 ships to Taiwan today.

Do Putin & Xi have a land grabbing coordinated plan in the next few months , not for WW3 but to split NATO and US attention, it would be near impossible to fight on two fronts and they have publicly supported each other

China can't do anything against Taiwan. Any attempt the invasion force would get decimated in the straits. China does not have the capability to invade Taiwan it's all bluster.

Hmmm.

China has the capability in equipment and manpower and their likely tolerance of casualties.

However, as Russia proved, does it have the experience in operations and logistics to execute?

I highly doubt it.

Russia is now China's puppet.

There is some attempt at splitting attention for sure, but what resources can Russia bring to bear on any front now?

I'd agree with this analysis. I don't expect to see war. China has not fought a hot war for 40 years and when they did against Vietnam, they lost.

Western sanctions would threaten China's economy and possibly, as a consequence, threaten Xi's grip on power

China does not have enough Type 701 ships to even attempt to cross the straights. They have 2. That is not enough to establish a beachhead. Those 2 Ships would be the main priority along with any other ro-ro capable ones they try and throw at Taiwan.

The US Army does not have enough bodies to respond to more than 1 major battlefront. They have the quality and the tech...just not the bodies to operate it.

It's been demonstrated time and time again that fighting on more than one front is nigh on impossible. Fighting in more than one major theatre of conflict would severely curtail any National army.

So yes, I agree with your assessment, it is indeed a good plan. It's enough to give Western forces pause for thought and worry military planners who might be asked to draw up plans for multiple battlefronts with different nations.

Think about it...

You are Army A (NATO), and you are possibly about to oppose Army B (Russia). Now you have to worry about Army C (China). Army A now needs to focus on both Army B and C. And NATO is not geared up for that.

China know this, and it's being used for political leverage. I believe they want to see who blinks first.

The only way around being played is to either concede or up the stakes, which means countering any Chinese moves with ones of our own. Quite what those moves are escapes me, however.

Personally, I can forsee a new Indo-China-Russo emerging superpower out of all this.

NATO in Europe can handle Russia easily. The US can concentrate on China with support from Japan. If China invaded Taiwan. The goal in Ukraine is to degrade Russia's military through sanctions and Attrition as to deny Russia offensive capabilities.

China would have a tough go at Taiwan. The geography of Taiwan and their porcupine strategy is a stout defense.

Guantanamo Bay. That's Cuba totally different. The 51st states would be either DC or Puerto Rico

The district of columbia would never be a state it is already part of the triangle.

the Cubans do not want the USA in Guantanamo Bay it is Cuban land. Molon Labe don't you think? Ukraine is doing the same. How is our presence in Cuba oppressing the local population? We not bombing infrastructure. Do you know how many Cuban refugees we have ? I don't see Americans fleeing to Cuba.

So it's ok for the us to occupy some other countries land. And us citizens fleeing to Cuba since Mr Obama relaxed the embargo on Cuba has increased.

Well I do not seeing you complaining about the monarchy. They lay claim to the most acres in on the planet. But I will. Your monarchy is the biggest land owner's. Guantonemo is a tiny sliver for security. Maybe you should go after the monarchy with your analogy.

Like I said earlier are land grabs a bad thing.

It all depends what side of the fence you stand. Depends on the grab.

Is that a peach tree in your back yard,,, Yeah I think I could take it and the customers of my peach pies agree we should take it. got to get thru my castle doctrine first. You know like the second most armed population. The Falklands. UK territory. "

lol I would think that the Falklands would tell you to F off . Come and try to take their peaches.

"China deployed 19 fighter planes and 3 ships to Taiwan today.

Do Putin & Xi have a land grabbing coordinated plan in the next few months , not for WW3 but to split NATO and US attention, it would be near impossible to fight on two fronts and they have publicly supported each other

Why should we care or get involved in land grabs present or historical.

Seriously?

Yeah,, are land grabs a bad thing.?

Yes if the population doesn't want their land occupied by a foreign entity. it would be great if the US invaded the UK according to your assumptions.

Mr Biden president of the 51st state what's wrong with that. Puerto Rico or DC?

Yes, if the people who's land you are grabbing don't want you to have it.

How is a land grab a good thing?

Can't grab land without landing troops and China gave zero chance will all those NATO sub lurking about. They can try but it would result in a lot of PLA floating lifeless in the sea.

"China has the capability in equipment and manpower and their likely tolerance of casualties."

Do you know how many ships and aircraft were involved in D-day? Can you imagine trying to muster a force like that with modern spy sattelites watching?

Think man, think! Stop falling for the rubbish that journalists, who have zero experience or contemplation, put out about military matters. Read books by actual military historians.

Can not see any Western Country getting involved if China decided to invade Taiwan other than to protest strongly in the UN.

Not many countries including the UK & USA recognise Taiwan as a country. It has always been part of China until the Chinese revolution 70 years ago.

If the West were ever going to recognise it as an independent country it would have done so by now.

Joking aside, China would love to be able to take Taiwan, but they simply cannot, not without turning the whole area to a warzone full of dead Chinese, and China doesn't want that. Especially due to the aging population and birth rate decline, it cannot afford to send its young to die in war.

Russia couldn't provide SEAD operations in Ukraine. It will be harder for China against Taiwan and the Russians have combat experience.

Conversely, it is the only point in time that they could achieve this.

Unless they have Moses to part the Taiwan straights. They can't...Troops can't walk on water. Large Troop transport ships would be seen and sunk the logistics train of ships too. Taiwan would ignore the combat ships and concentrate on troop movement and supply chains. It's a easy win for Taiwan in that sense. Can't take the island without boots on the ground.

Perhaps you missed the point that I was making?

Due to the demographics, if it were going to happen, it would have to happen now, whilst their are adequate numbers of combat aged population.

If it cannot happen now it becomes less and less likely as time goes on.

The US would not want TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) to fall into China's hands. TSMC is the world's largest contract semiconductor manufacturer and plays a crucial role in the global technology supply chain. It is also based in Taiwan, which is a strategic ally of the US. If TSMC were to fall into China's hands, it could have serious implications for US national security and economic interests. China could use TSMC's advanced technology to develop weapons systems and other military capabilities, giving it a significant advantage in any potential conflict with the US. It could also allow China to gain access to sensitive US technology, putting US companies and national security at risk. For these reasons, the US would likely take steps to prevent TSMC from falling into China's hands, including increased investment in TSMC and other Taiwanese tech companies, diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties with Taiwan, and potentially even military action if necessary. Only last September President Biden said the US would defend Taiwan it China invaded he said “We agree with what we signed onto a long time ago. And that there’s ‘one China’ policy, and Taiwan makes their own judgments about their independence. We are not moving – we’re not encouraging their being independent … That’s their decision,” he said. But asked if US forces would defend the island, he said they would: “Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented attack.”
