Well that’s true, but you do get fined if your child doesn’t turn up for education. Teachers should be fined for not turning up for education. |

You do realise why they are striking right?
Perhaps if you campaigned on their behalf for better pay and conditions they wouldn’t need yo strike?
I mean I guess they should be grateful they are educating your children!?!?  |

One at home for the strike with online work, one has gone in because they're still running school for his year. I'm working from home because of the train strikes.
Remember when in lockdown we had a list of essential jobs that needed to carry on? See how virtually every one of those jobs is underpaid? This is the impact.
I support all the strikers, even though it hurts, we need balance. |

If anyone thinks the wage cuts since 2010 eg. (police 13%, firefighters 12%) are acceptable perhaps take a minute and look at whether they would just sit back and take the same ..
Buying into the division and blame game is part of what's led us to where we are in one of the richest countries on the planet..

Agreed, they don't want that to change at anytime soon..
Sad thing is others buy into the mindset albeit lower down the scale and are happy to see it perpetuate..

1. They can recover it from the Covid related furlough fraud, the £billions that went to Tory party donors, friends and family in contracts that were not competed or had no due diligence, the PPE contracts awarded to the same.
2. The failed Brexit project is losing HMT £40bn a year every year from a fall in tax revenues. Sort out the brexit mess.
3. Remove Non-Dom status.
4. Shut down ability to use tax havens to avoid tax that should be paid by both companies and individuals in the UK (including stopping the practice of IP royalty payments to offshore holding companies that ensures UK operations are always running at a “loss”.
5. Extend windfall tax on oil and gas extraction companies.
6. Stop trading North Sea oil and gas in $USD.
7. Ensure all Ministers and MPs are actually paying all the tax they should be! |

My lad is not at school today, because his teachers are out, so he has spent the morning with me on the picket line at my work, because we’re out.
The whole point of striking is to cause disruption and to highlight all the million and one things that go on unnoticed in the background that we all take for granted.
All working people should be out together today. |

Striking teachers are definitely not paid. Those in different unions (a minority) are in school as they are not involved. They are working as usual. |

So please correct me if I’m wrong, teaching and other careers like that are something you aspire to become are financially led decisions? Maybe I’m stupid and thought a career like that is because you want to educate and better the lives of the next generations.
Around here, the senior school finishes at 2.30 pm, absolute madness as the anti social behaviour reported involving those of that demographic age is through the roof.
I’m self employed in a craft that is nowhere near paid enough for my skill and level of qualification but I do it because I’m passionate about it’s |
