Another news story that the BBC has yet to run, and many others of the forth estate.
Is the news that a unit within the army spied on lockdown critics such as Peter Hitchen, MP's including David Davis and academics as their views didn't match the government narrative.
Whats going on here guys its not all over the news. |

The 77th Brigade has been common knowledge for some time for those who cared to look. It is outrageous that taxpayers should have to fork out to pay to be spied upon by their own government for disagreeing with their government. They were victimised for holding dissenting opinions and many of their criticisms,as we now know, were completely correct. We know that the US government dihd the same with their FBI.
This won't be on MSN and we can only assume they are incompetent or complicit.

We're in the time of the great cull, vaccines, war, lockdown, delayed hospital treatments, ect, whatever works to get the human population down to 500 million by 2050. Gotta spy on the truth tellers so they don't upset the masses and divert the omnipresent narrative. |

The first two posts in this thread are entirely factual and cannot be argued with. Then, somewhat predictably someone posts something that although a stated aim of some Malthusian cantillionaires is extremely unlikely to be implemented and everyone dismisses the first two posts. Please address the original posts or start a new thread. I know that people are trying to help but strawmanning the original post is counterproductive. |

So if it's being reported how can you complain that is not being reported? The fact that it appears in the press shows that the checks and balances are working. |

It's being reported thanks to a FOI request. It would have been helpful if our own government weren't shutting down opposition to objections and controlling the media don't you think? Lockdown was a mistake and we could have saved thousands of businesses and saved billions of pounds. Also...it's not being reported...did you see it on the news? |

So, we’re not allowed Freedom of Speech on a forum? Oh the irony |

The powers that be decide on who to put under surveillance and it's not something I have sleepless nights over.
What's more important; saving lives or saving money? That's a rhetorical question btw! "Lockdown was a mistake" is your view many others will beg to differ. You're between a rock and a hard place. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Who would want to be a leader!?!? |

Freedom of the press is foundational to a free society. It's clear that many people have failed to learn from history. You don't lose freedom in one day, it's death by a thousand cuts. I recommend people read Solzhenitzyn as a starting point to see how you go from freedom to totalitarianism. |

Yes indeed. A good, short read to give an idea what can happen to you for criticising a totalitarian. The gulag archipelago is a longer read but more informative of how those poor people found their way to hell on Earth. |

Funny that as I didn't see it anywhere apart from independent sources. Can you provide a link?
It was news to the people who were being spied on. |

Sorry, the last one was recent but here's another:

Lets face it, the state has actively undermined groups across the political spectrum through infiltrators, agent provocateurs and disinformation for pretty much as long as there has been a state. |

Quite simply, its not ok to spy, to breech a persons privacy for gain.
It raises so many other questions for me. |
