China joining is the least of the problems. The CPTPP will allow corporations to sue governments for making policies that might impact the corporation's profits. Such as policies that determine how state owned enterprises are run. Fucking terrifying. |

The CPTPP is about ensuring western powers maintain influence instead of China. As far as we're concerned so long as the Communist party is in charge of China it needs to be kept under intense economic pressure and locked out of anything that would help it advance. |
