During the pandemic we clapped our medical professionals for doing a service for this country,
3 years later and the government has now decided that because they want more money due to the mess they put us in, they remove their fundamental right to being disgruntled.
Is that fair?
To thrown under the bus for a job that saves lives, more lives than any tory politician has saved. In fact tory MP’s have done more to reduce life expectancy in the UK through its policies.
So I ask again is it fair? |

How many nurses were sacked for not having the vaccine? |

"Who's getting sacked?
This is just a headline straight from 'The Mail'. Isn't that what what we call sensationalist?
Devils advocate?"
The advocate should never be sacked. The role is far to important |

This is clearly one of the opportunities now available to the UK to strengthen workers' protections.
From Newsthump:
“If a British worker feels they are being treated unfairly by their employer, then those workers will no longer be subjected to endless hours on cold picket lines during the dreary winter months, and will instead find themselves back at work, in moderately heated environments.
Or, if they prefer, at the job centre looking for alternative employment. In my book that’s the very definition of a win for the workers!” |

None, except those who have been or are practicing medical staff.
How many lives have Conservative MPs saved.
Also the same.
The point of the question, which you failed to grasp, is that the Conservative party is in power and is impoverishing and removing the rights of those who do save lives whilst praising them for the great job that they do. |

It appears the new laws being proposed to sack striking health workers have been introduced in Zimbabwe so where they lead we are following.
What a country we have become. Disgraceful government.
Quoted from the article.
“The new Health Services Bill, which came into force on Tuesday, forbids health workers who are classified as an “essential” service from striking for more than three days. Those who do not comply face a fine or imprisonment of up to six months.
“After the rejection of the bill by various stakeholders, they still went ahead to pass it. It is very unfortunate. The right to protest has been taken away,” said Enock Dongo, president of the Zimbabwe Nurses Association.”
And to add to their woes
Zimbabwe has lost more than 4,000 doctors and nurses to the UK and other countries since 2021, according to the Health Services Board, amid poor pay and worsening economic conditions.
“When you threaten health workers with jail, how do you expect them to discharge their duties? This will affect every citizen, nurses will just adopt a ‘go-slow’ [approach to work],” he said.
The US and Australia are looking far more attractive to UK health workers.

Cheers.
Why do the papers report in this way?
Within the first 2 paragraphs it's said that the new bill will outlaw ANY action, then goes onto say works in 'essential roles' wouldn't be able to strike for more than 3 days.
It's makes a fucking mockery of what should be a serious article. |

I have to be agree with that point.
It doesn’t explain essential roles or whether they can strike for two days then go back for a day then strike again for two days. I’m sure the reporter didn’t have the detail needed.
I think however the point is clearly being mirrored there that staff who are undervalued and threatened are leaving in their thousands.
We won’t learn that lesson of course. |

Agreed, it's thin on detail, sure we could find out the full detail should we want.
