Looking at the data.

Seems there its a triumph in national identity with more people identifying as British. It’s absolutely brilliant!

It does prove one thing. Our attitude to who we are has changed, no going back.

Can we agree that our identity as citizens of this island is important. Being British is something to be happy about?

Depends where you are in the world.

Living abroad for most of my life, I can say telling someone you're "English" goes over a lot better than if you say "British".

There's plenty to be proud of this country for, but blanket being proud of being British is something I've never understood. (You could replace British with any nationality there).

No, I didn't keep stats of my experiences talking to people.

Do you keep a spreadsheet of all your conversations?

The Empire happened, many are affected by its legacy, however being afraid to identify as being British only makes you appear ashamed, even guilty.

Our past did happen, and we must accept that we can only move forward and do better. That old empire is not the world we live in, it’s the here and now, where we are a diverse nation of many.
