It is really good to see our friends in the EU have agreed to help the UK control it’s borders again .

Central

EU states are remarkably supportive of the UK, despite our fairly awful treatment of them.

Only seen it briefly but what I did see seems just an extension of the scheme already in place. I did see the UK personnel can over see French operations and visa versa. Hopefully it will be a success but think we need to see the results once it's been in operation for a while.

It's 8m quid. A 12pc increase.

It's pretty much an inflationary increase.

Nurses want inflationary pay rises: we can't afford it. Boo the work fuckers.

France want a inflationary increase: look at us, we are fighting hard agains those boat people. Front page news.

Tho TBF we are saying we are getting more bang for out buck, so I am being a little facetious.

However 8m is nothing. If 8m really makes a difference it shows we could stop in a heart beat.

The UK government can’t deal with the situation, they have now created a ready made scape goat if , and more likely when this scheme doesn’t work. I doubt the French will give a shit though

The Rwanda scheme was popular among the more racist types. I don't think these new measures will do much to appease that element.

Is this new announcement to replace the Rwanda scheme? As far as I have seen this is in addition to Rwanda and last time I heard Rishi speak on the subject he was in favour of it. That said it was when he was up for election so many pinches of salt required
