So the revelation that Lis Truss’s phone was hacked six months ago by Russian security services and that this was covered up by the Tories so as not to undermine her reputation in the lead up to the Tory leadership race is quite astonishing to me. No matter how you try to spin it, it just looks like more Tory dishonesty and cover up and you have to ask yourself why they are so accident prone and why they lie about everything ? |

Truss was a hack.
I'd not be surprised if Putin influenced her becoming PM and then used others to convince her that her Economic Reset was best for the UK..
The damage her few weeks did to this country is exactly what Putin would want.
The only thing I don't get was Lavrov's hate of her, she played right in his hands or was that smokescreen? |

So you expect the security services to give the public day by day updates on matters of investigations ongoing ? Now that would not be very secure would it ? |

"Whose career is already in the toilet? It is very serious but still a dead cat distraction from Sue Ellen and Sunak’s lack of priority over climate change."
My sentiments exactly. How convenient that this should come out while Suella is under scrutiny and before Truss gets to lavish her birthday honours on the deserving cheerleaders who publicly backed her. Anyone would think there’s a conspiracy going on |

Politics is a dirty, shitty business. To get to the top you need to be a nasty, back stabbing snake.
The other side are probably as bad if not worse. Just watched Al Jazeera's The Labour files. Interesting wqtch, especially if you think the downfall of Jeremy Corbyn was a right wing conspiracy. |

I heard an interview with one of the directors on Alexei Sayles podcast and I am definitely going to take a look at it |

Was it her petsonal phone or her work phone. I've read it was her own one.
Only so much the security forces can do there.
Good thing our MPs don't use their personal phone and email for work ... |

From a security point of view I wouldn’t not have announced she had been hacked even she been .. just the amount of information about the stuff the Russians use, virus and malware ect… |

It's no surprise at all that it was kept quiet from purely a security perspective.
If this was a Government phone and account that's a work for the state.
If it was from a personal phone then WTF! It also puts how serious Braverman's behaviour with her personal account was into perspective. |

Hacked several months ago and it's only just come to light now ? Someone's been sitting on this for a long time. Why ?
Well, letting the phone stay "hacked" for a little while whilst carrying on normally is a prime opportunity to feed disinformation.
And it's ridiculously easy to operate "another phone for real business", whilst your "hacked phone" is used for subterfuge.
It's also easy to divert confidential traffic that would have been received on the hacked phone to the other phone, whilst re-authoring a change in the message to come to the "hacked phone".
Message from J.Biden to L.Truss.
"We're sending 100B $ to UKR".
Message Intercepted and relayed to real phone. Alternative message sent to L.Truss hacked phone, "We're sending 200B$ to UKR. 3rd Spec Ops team now in place in RUS."
Oh what fun you could have |

Complete lack of imagination from government. If they knew the phone was hacked then why not government her a new phone then use the old one to pass on disinformation.
Should have played it to their advantage. Unless there are other reasons. |

Maybe that's exactly what they have done. |
