GE. With no parties to vote for.
MP's are unnecessary and pointless.
You got to the polling station and there are 2 slips for voting.
Slip 1 : National
In order of preference, where do you want the majority of your taxes to go to. Rank each in order of importance, with 1 being most important and 10 least important.
Health/NHS
Defence
Education
Policing / Emergency Services
Transport
etc
etc
Then Slip 2 is the same, but for your local area only.
MP's are not needed in this scenario. You could have "Governors" of a county, who look deeper in to local issues for you. But they are not MP's. They are civil administrators.
A Civil Service is all you need to turn the cogs and allocate the taxes to the things in their correct ratios. |

If we'd had such a system for the last election in 2019, how would it have coped with the CoViD crisis, and the invasion of Ukraine? |

"What's your choice,or who ??
In this scenario, who is standing for PM for the Tories?
Mr Blobby. Fuck it, why not?"
The GE is my pick.
The Tory PR machine and the press will ensure a Conservative victory. As per normal.
So I'd prefer the right honourable Blobby over Boris of Sunak. |

With regards to Covid, Exercise Cygnus in 2016 (and Exercise Alice in the same year) would have been codified and plans put in to place well in advance.
As for Ukraine ? No idea. Ask the Dept of Defence. Ask Nato. They run simulations (or should be doing so) |

I'm sure the plans would have been in place, but if we hadn't rated the NHS or defence very highly in 2019, where would they have got the money from? Would we have to wait for the next general election in 2024 to reallocate expenses? |

I think you know as well as I do that such ranked priorities would have contingencies and flex built in to them to account for emergency spending. You can take that as a given. How much is needed ? That's a good question. Why don't you work it out and let me know ? What would you choose and why ? |
