Norway on alert - Sabotage planning?

Norway on alert after drone sightings near key infrastructure.

Numerous reported drone sightings near offshore oil and gas platforms and other Norwegian infrastructure in recent months.

Last month Oslo tightened security at such sites after the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea.

Around 52% of all the UK's gas imports came from Norway in the second quarter of the year. The second highest was Qatar, which supplied less than 9 percent of the imports.

Britain has five gas pipelines that bring gas here from Norway and from Norwegian gas fields in the North Sea.

Pretty sure Shetland was accidental although Russia has been paying unnatural attention to undersea infrastructure.

I personally think that if these are going to be damaged, then the charges were laid a long time ago, especially power cables and pipes.

If, and it is very possible, Putin plans Norwegian supply pipes to be deliberately damaged, loosing 38% to 52% of our Gas supply with almost Zero onshore storage- we'd in for a miserable few months over Winter.

Although, missles shot off near surveillance aircraft, NORD STREAM explosions, Shetland again could be a demonstration of what could happen and being played down to stop panic..

Looking at the last 100 years of History, nothing what Humans are capable of doing to other Humans, Surprises me - especially Putin's regime.

At what point would you like to wake up and smell the coffee?

Stick your heads in the sand, it's no loss to me. Wake up and do something to what may keep get your family through Winter.

Given the Russian military performance against just Ukraine, albeit with training and help with weapon supply from the west, what exactly do you think would happen if it attacked a NATO country? Their military would be crushed and this would continue until they no longer had any able bodied people left to send into the meat grinder.

If it was Russia that would be article 5 invoked straight away… and huge EU retribution … that would put the Russians Baltic fleet on blast straight away

Bit off at a tangent there..

All I was saying was that we should be dusting off our Generators and giving them a run.

Unless, you have one of those new EV's with Vehicle 2 Load, and be able to use one to power the house during a Blackout.

Some have no idea their cars are capable of this until they've been educated at a public charger, and briefed on how to make up the cable..

"Russia have not had a successful test of their nuclear weapons yet been reported of 2 aborted tests reason given was technical problems"

If you mean that the present-day country of Russia has never performed a nuclear test, that's true.

However the Soviet Union performed over 700 successful nuclear tests, and all of their weapons now belong to Russia. There's no reason to doubt that Russian nuclear weapons will work.

I think it would be very dangerous to make the assumption that Russia's nukes may not work.

However it is 32 years (anniversary tomorrow BTW) since the last Soviet/Russian test.

If you left your car in the garage for that time you wouldn't expect to just jump into it and do a London to Glasgow run. You would at least start the engine occasionally.

If Russia are stupid enough to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine why does that automatically mean NATO respond. Ukraine is still not a NATO member so not protected regardless of the weapons being used. Is it because the wind can blow fallout across the boarder or is there another reason.

you realy honestly think the rest of the world especialy NATO wouls just stand by if a nuclear weapon was detonated in Ukraine with resultant fallout and contamination and do nothing ? At best Nato Sweden & Finland would go to full military alert within minutes .the chances of an "accident or incedent " between them and a Russian military unit would be pretty big and from there things can and will escalate very quickly

But you didn't do it..

The truth is now out there, Liz Truss and her Snakes arranged it with with the Royal Navy.

Evidence being handed to the UN monday I believe. I hope heads will roll now the truth is out.

I suppose blowing up the Norway pipe will mean Rough can be filled with our own and US Gas, not Norwegian.

My thermostat is already well up here, at 4p/kwh, I'm going to be toasty warm this winter and next. Save gas - screw that one as no one else is.

Seems I will be loosing some Solar as just agreed two guys with EVs to park their cars on my drive to charge them two days a week. Paying me 30p/kwh, I make 10.1p profit on each kwh meaning my EV gets a FREE kwh for every two they buy. Most helpful now that Tesco free charging finishes on Monday.

Met some great guys at public chargers the last fews months. Just needed a camp fire in the circle of camp chairs.

Monday and Wednesday's, leaving charger available to me on Thursday lpppand Friday. If im away, I'll open it 7 days a week and reap the profits against Winter pricing and usag.

Who'd have thought it, wheelin' and dealing electricity on your own doorstep could be so profitable.

LOL

You can earn £1000 as a sideline undeclared, but as I'm self employed, TAX on earning would be fully declared.

Again, dismissive of the facts to jump straight in. One charger already, ordering second tomorrow.

Two spaces on the drive and a 100amp 22kw supply. 14kw into two EVs won't even get close.

There is nothing illegal in using electricity to sell a service!!

Car charging being the 'service'.

So, anyone with a 7kw home charger, with off-road parking and your out during the day.

Take your kwh rate, add 10p/Kwh and sell it as a service.

My electric company will have have heart failure at 450kwh per week going throughout the meter where it is normally ZERO.

I'm looking at £3,000 per year as I'll also be charging for parking!!

Probably why NORD STREAM was a test run to see the reaction. The Langeled pipeline pipeline being the main target.

We won't know until after the event, but Navy's are wasting their time monitoring although it looks good. If it is going to happen, things will already be in place and it's a feckin long pipe to inspect every inch and at this time of year.

Wasn't the poisonings on our soil an attack on a NATO country. Response will be cautious as its a hard call to go all in on a reaction with the ultimate outcome.
