"She genuinely seems to be incapable of understanding what cause and effect is and as for empathy? Is she just out of her depth or is there something wrong with her?"
Standard Tory as far as having no empathy for other humans.
If she endangers the Tories getting re-elected, or fails to serve their corporate/billionaire backers, she's gone. Otherwise, why would they bother changing her? |

She set Kwarteng up for the fall when she dobbed him in as the one behind the 45p tax cut, if and it's looking increasingly likely the u turn on corporation tax comes today (if that will be enough in itself) and Number 10 have chopped Kwartengs legs off in leaking it last night then he will resign..
The cost of government borrowing has risen by £10 billion pa since the fiscal fuck up, that's on us all in taxation and less money for public services..
But the real reason she should go however they get rid of her is the damage to everyone affected by this mess, the messed up mortgages being just one and not a scintilla of acknowledgement how that has and will affect millions..
Simply speaking she doesn't care and her own voters know it too not just those who would never vote for her party .. |

I think if they do that they will certainly be toast with no way back at all.
She might be the one at the front but you need to look further back behind her advisers ect.
Gove Hancock and a few others are snakes and have been plotting this all along as they all wanted Sunak in the position and noses were out of joint as soon as they did not get their wish |

That's the normal machinations of party politics, the Tories are far more likely to wield the knife when an incumbent is threatening their positions..
This isn't down to advisor's it's firmly on the head of Truss and her for the preset still chancellor, they sacked the senior treasury advisor and they sidelined the OBR in their ideological fiscal fuck up..
They bear the responsibility.. |

The interesting thing is because he was a major dept head, he is afforded the opportunity to make a leaving speech in the House of Commons from the back benches…. Will he take up the option, and will he use it to take down truss with him! |

Does any u turn on policy nenas she's now anti growth ?
It also undermines the current Truss supporters position of "giver? her time, you cant judge performance on a few weeks"
(Note: this was based on last week's QT. Haven't watched this week. It may have changed). |

In any other time, under any other government what we're seeing would be unthinkable but this lot are in such a mess under her leadership anything is possible..
She'll no doubt blame it all upon him and try to reset her disastrous start, as she has done upon Boris and May and Cameron's tenure ..
If the backbenchers don't bin her a lot of them are out of that job in two years, that is focussing their minds..

Staggering just how incompetent she is thus far, it was funny when she did porkmarkets and cheese but when she met Lavrov and didn't know her brief then surely that should have made some Tories think when they backed her ..
Telegraph poll today gives Labour 400 plus seats and Tories 4 if a GE now..
That won't happen in two years and wouldn't be healthy for any democracy in any case but they the grass roots Tories are sending a strong message and it could be her going is the only thing that they come back for ..

She won't resign, she will try and reset with a u turn on the fiscal fek up and she will say she has listened and been decisive in acting etc etc..
But yes her problem well one of many is that the fiscal fek up was her idea, the Tory party is in panic mode and the markets don't like uncertainty etc ..
She's all over the place and looking less in control and that's not a good look.. |

Back-benchers have forced this, and they probably feel that they can force anything right now."
Interesting that Nick Watt has just tweeted that a group of senior back benchers have said that after her sacking Kwarteng they will publicly say next week that she should go ..

Yes, stood on it and they chose her over Sunak so to junk it now..
I think they will move against her to go, either by letters to Graham Brady or privately because this mess which her time in office is won't go away and if she leads them into the next GE they are going to be battered.. |

BEST POST YET BY HAY!!!!!!
Good to have you back in the satire seat after a few weeks in the wilderness. Your content was getting a bit weak but I guess it was hard to keep up with the reality unspooling before our eyes.
So Mr Hay, who do you back for being the next Chancer ooops I mean Chancellor? |

Or most people in the real world upon seeing a leader who in less than a month has gone against every fiscal rule of competency and commonsense management and having failed to listen before she went off on that course or consulted the independent overseers, might well think if she's done this much damage in such a short time what chaos will she cause in two years..
If there were an election in two weeks pat, according to the Telegraph Tory MPs would struggle to fill a mini bus..

She's driven herself into a political cul-de-sac and can't get out.
A vacuous airhead that is at best a back bencher, definitely not a leader or someone who is going to install trust and respect in not only the electorate but other world leaders.
I would have preferred Sunak tbh. |

You cannot have fiscal policies fighting against monetary policy, Central banks always win at the end, which Rishi was saying for long time - but was blamed by media labelling him mansplainig. Now all those Tories members who voted for Lizz must hand in their resignation forcing Lizz to go away. |

Defined benefit scheme members have guaranteed benefits, scheme employers are generally required to underwrite any shortfalls, hence why these schemes are being wound up in droves! |
