So Liz Truss who is the new Prime Minister of the UK is filmed in an interview with a journalist and turns up in white trainers while the journalist wears the expected black court shoe stilletoes.
Mark Toms words. Ratings will plummet. What's the point of watching these political interviews if they are not playing the game

I did think this was slightly odd when I saw it. But it’s like Johnson and his hair …he used to ruff it up before being interviewed - scruffy was his look. She’s obviously trying to channel BoJo’s mojo. |

Please tell me you realise EVERYTHING you see on mainstream media is mostly staged. The PM doesn't dress herself, she probably does buy she has a stylists and PR. Did you see her shaking her feet all the time like Hey look at my trainers! I'm just like you!! Don't trust anything you see or hear from a politician. Why don't we ever learn from the past? It's like a political black hole! Every 2 years everyone forgets hat's happened because what's happening is bad also. The keep us in fear, in debt, in confusion, in worry constantly so we forget as we're too worried about what's happening or going to happen!
Like as we know it is a game! They're playing us all but things are changing and with new social media people are talking about it now. Just need the majority to make a difference. Stop voting red or blue and try something new. The top 2 are exactly the same all wealthy and out of touch! Need new minds and ethics now. People who do the job for the love of doing it not for the money. Why do they value themselves so much anyway? Average salary for an MP is £84.000! Plus expenses... Why is their job worth so much? They don't do fuck all except make out lives worse.
They just have scripts, she didn't answer one question straight up. It's all scripted and she's just for show. Look at America,m there's no way Biden is doing anything, not making any decision about anything. I'll be surprised if he does his own shoe laces in the morning. This is a great opportunity now to show everyone how corrupt it all is and who's really making the decisions. It's not the people you vote for that's for sure.
Just vote for your cat or dog in next elections lol. Doesn't make any difference who you vote for. Maybe all these fuck ups is all planned also to make labour get in?
Yeah... I don't like politics too much. |

I noticed this too and knew right away this would be picked up on. She may be criticised for it but then again maybe not. It will be interesting to see what people will say x |

No it's because their PR tells them too. They're like pop stars and have image consultants and spies that keeps an eye on public opinion and then makes slight changes to try and change people's minds. It all about deception. |

Yeah there would. Leader of our country should look and dress and act the part. |

On this I disagree, she's wearing trainers to an interview. If Boris did that, he'd be slagged off for being a slob. No politicians wear trainers to TV unless there's a sport they are taking part in.
Corbyn got slagged off for his lack of tie and clothing all the time. Ed milliband got slagged off for how he ate a bacon sandwich.
I agree Teresa may shoe talk was unnecessary. And Angela Raynor's Sharon stone.
But in this instance it is acceptable to pick up on the shoes. |

And he should ride through impoverished areas handing out tins of pineapple chunks and carnation evaporated milk with the queen consort. |

I don't think it is only me ... but does Liz Truss appear to have had a personality ectomy? In her interviews she sounds like she is translating into English, on the fly, from a complex Serbo-Croat script.
Re. The budget, why can't they release their workings to justify what they proposed? If I was buying a new washing machine I would have more data on that than Kamikwasi and Hernia Truss , oops, sorry, Liz Truss. |

"I've never known people remark on the footwear of male PM's, just the female ones.... interesting
When Teresa May was PM it was front page news that she wore kitten heels. Bizarre. "
She wore leapoard print shoes which will live longer on the memory than any of her achievements ... |

Would it have been OK to wear them to the Queen's funeral ? "
If you can't wear any other shoes then get black sneakers for the funeral so yes it would have been! |

Men telling women what they should be wearing? Isn't that just so 20th century?
She probably had many meetings yesterday, as well as the expected media photo shoot (think it was on a building site). Dashing from place to place isn't something that I would want to do in heels. |

Yes. If she was comfortable wearing the. But equally it was not a funeral she was attending. It was just an interview and now her footwear is being discussed more than her words. Weird. |

Because her shoes will stay on her feet for a few hours. Unlike her words which change every time the latest opinion poll lands. Politicians have bought a lot of this on themselves. We've bought the rest of it. |

I think it is pertinent to discuss hee clothes, I expect the leader of the party elected to be in power to look the part. The previous incumbent failed miserably, so far Liz Truss has at least dressed smartly. They're the representatives of our country, we must already be a laughing stock add a pm in trainers to that and we're looking ridiculous. Her feet and legs might be suffering from heels but there's a large choice of comfortable flat shoes available, the choice isn't just heels or trainers.

An alternative would have been to wear trainers to the interview chair then change shoes before the filming began. |

Yep. When I was working I maintained a smart appearance to give other people confidence in my ability to do the job. Now I'm aware that shoes are not going to make a ha'porth of difference to the lady's abilities but it's not helping her image. |

I just listened to her at the party conference for about 2 minutes. I think she did it deliberately to take the conversation away from the awful mess they have led the country into. If we are discussing her daps we aren't discussing her reversal of manifesto pledges. Awful awful politics. Shabby look for a shabby leader. |

Surely you tune in for the content and not the heels.
I'm pretty sure there are sites available just for heel fetishes. |

Politicians in heels is not a fetish that can be recreated on porn sites. That would actually be quite pervy and wrong. We are talking about real politicians in real heels being drooled over as they announce more austerity..
What is sexier ? |

"Would you "rock up" to a job interview, wedding or funeral in jeans and a T-shirt ? "
Job interview ? Yes. You wear the clothes appropriate to the role and the culture of the company. A media company I worked for once didn't do "suits" and all that crap.
Wedding ? I'd wear what was stated on the guest instructions. I've been to over a dozen weddings over the years. Only one involved a suit and tie.
Funeral. Well, the biker's funerals I have attended have pretty much been black clothing affairs. |
