Many are wrongly assuming that £2,500 is the maximum you will pay for Energy, regardless of how much is used. This is not the case as the discount is per kwh and not the gross. Therefore, if your property uses more Energy, you'll pay more.
The reality is that Energy is still rising 19% above what happened back in April to aroind 34p/kwh.
I've put details to calculate your own actual bill further down.
Liz Truss keeps falsely representing the £2500 CAP as the maximum you'll pay. If she was in business Advertising and Trading Standards would have something to say about the way it is being suggested.
Examples savings based on your type of home. For households in Great Britain, under the new Energy Price Guarantee, the average home will save an average of £1,000 and the average flat will save £700 on typical Bills - 2019 median consumption (Dual fuel, annual basis).
Type October price - Government Energy Price Guarantee then the last figure in brackets is expected reduction.

Average standing charges for customers on default tariffs will remain capped in line with the levels set (in Great Britain) by Ofgem for the default tariff cap from 1 October, at 46p per day for electricity and 28p per day for gas, for a typical dual fuel customer paying by direct debit. Standing charges for households in Northern Ireland will also be unaffected. |
