Day by day the news rolls on about Ukraine and it seems like the atrocities being committed by the Russians are never ending.
Some news that I saw today was that the Russians are virtually carpet shelling Kharkiv and surrounding towns and settlements in en effort to render them no longer in existence. This seems to be in retaliation for the Kharkiv region being taken back by the Ukrainians.
It seems like the entire Russian tactical plan is to target civilian populations and simply terrorise them. Day, after day, after day.
I am beginning to think that the only way to stop this madness is to provide Ukraine with weapons that match those of Russia. There will not be a threat of Russia using Nuclear weapons if Ukraine also has them and Russia might just think twice about trying to disintegrate entire civilian settlements if Ukraine had the ability to lob equally vast amounts of ordnance into Russia. |

Nobody is going to give then nukes.
But Russia is running out of material. They are getting ordnance from North Korea! They can't get the chips for the hi tech stuff. They can't use their air force because of the ground to air systems we gave the Ukrainians. Their army is demoralised.
We just have to keep supporting Ukraine and giving them what they ask for. |

When do you think Russia will be surrendering and exiting Ukraine?
We've been told daily now for seven months that Russia is losing and that the plucky Ukrainians are winning. So when's it going to be over? Another twenty years like Afghanistan? |

Providing nukes in hope that it calms things down might be the dumbest idea ever
Any use of a nuke would result in all nukes being used. Which ends the world
Awful things are happening, but do you really think ending the world would since this |

This, as mad as he is, he only issues the order, there’s a good chance the people won’t deliver on that order because they know there’s no winner in a nuclear war
There’s been 2 times in history (if I remember right) when fingers hovered over that button, and both times the people in charge chose not to push it |

Actually that is not the case. At the beginning, the general consensus was that Kyiv would fall in days. Your "plucky" Ukrainians have dismayed the feared Russian army. And now they have retaken much of the territory it cost the Russians so much to take.
I don't doubt that it will be a long fight. And once Ukraine is free it will join NATO and be beyond Russia's grasp. Because we don't have to persuade, bully or force Ukraine like we did in Afghanistan. |

If it can defeat Russia without NATO then presumably joining NATO will lose all urgency. It is only interested in joining NATO to try and drag us all into its border war with Russia, a country which is just slightly less corrupt than Ukraine. |

Fighting totalitarian dictatorships almost never finishes in a peaceful negotiation.
Hitler let his country and people be devastated until the Allies reached Berlin, then he killed himself.
Hardly a bullet has fallen in Russia so far. No reason for Putin to even think of stopping as he wants to destroy all Ukraine to show other ex-Russian states what happens if they do not obey his command. |

They are only where they are due to NATO. Other than NATO boots on the ground, they are using NATO weapons, reconnaissance, intelligence, satellite data, training, warfare expertise, eavesdropping and other equipment.
A ghost war as Putin puts it.
But, if we don't- then wait until the UK and the rest of Europe is subject to phoney referendums to join the Russian Empire. |

That doesn't make any sense. |

I think China is the key. If they can be persuaded to abandon Putin, those around him might have no alternative than to effect a change in leadership |

Russia would not be even contemplating the use of nuclear weapons if Putin thought that they would be used back at Russia.
In fact had Ukraine retained its nuclear capabilities it is doubtful that the “Special Military Operation” would have ever been initiated in the first place.
Putin is a bully, and bully’s only pick on people they perceive to be weak. |

They have more in common with putin than they do with anyone in the west and seems as there soon to be the dominant player in the world why would they listen to anyone, if backing putin serves there purposes thats what they will do, longer the worlds attention is on ukraine the better it is for china |

They can be got rid of as long as enough people vote accordingly. Otherwise we would never have had governments from other parties in the past. I believe this will be the Tories last term and Labour will form the next government. A short while ago I thought it would be a slim Labour majority or a coalition but now tend to think Labour will get a decent majority. |
