It is a fairly unanimous opinion that Boris Johnson has been the worst post-WW2 Prime Minister that this country has ever seen.
It’s odd though that all three of the worst PM’s also include his two predecessors Theresa May and David Cameron.
Today is day one of Liz Truss being PM and in the run up to being appointed she has stoked division with the Scots, the Welsh , the Irish and the EU. She has also purposely avoided scrutiny by skipping mainstream news interviews for fear of being exposed and set up upcoming spats with the Mayor of London and the TUC (all this in just six weeks).
After how many days, weeks or months will it be before Liz Truss takes over from Boris Johnson as the worst PM and kicks that legend of incompetence David Cameron completely out of the top three?
I will give her until the end of November before she becomes very visibly wading around in treacle. |

And if by some miracle she actually delivers and proves to be a good PM? |

Unanimous opinion where? You and everyone you follow on Twitter?
I guess at least the Tories actually get to be the Government. As opposed to useless Labour who nobody even trusts to try to be the Government. |

Really? His legacy is one of lying, deceit, cronyism, corruption and cover-ups. His rotted principles infected the entire system of government and its people.
Most normal people would respect honest and principled leadership above all else wouldn't they? It was his own MP's who recognised the damage he was causing the nation and ousted him and it was down to his own efforts that he spunked away the political capital generated from an 80-seat majority in just two and a half years. |

"bar the weak protestations of one or two bizzare zealots, it's absolutely clear that his record as 'by far the worst PM in well over a century' is a fairly unanimously held viewpoint. "
Indeed, only the foolish would disagree |

Only a small minority of disgruntled individuals with an absolute to grind would regard them as poor. It is dangerous to regard keyboard warriors on twitter as being in any way representative of the majority. If any of thes people were as bad as you attempt to suggest, the Conseratives would not have won the last election with an eighty seat majority. That in itself was a stunning achievement. |

Do you believe in miracles?
She is far from being an unknown quantity, is she?
My prediction is that it will be her decision-making will undo her because she also has the difficulty of being the Prime Minister of a Conservative party whose Parliamentarian Representatives feel that she is not up for the job and the majority of them voted as such. |

The vast majority of the current Tory MPs agree that he is useless , why was he forced to resign?? |

the deep splits in the party render them pointless and unable to govern effectively. they also have completely obscured any party message to the point that nobody knows what they stand for any more. they're now quite simply unelectable. |

Except that everyone now knows that the election was won under the false pretences of "Getting Brexit Done."
People will not forget that lie.
Cameron was the Stan Flashman of the Conservative Party and proved to be just that in performance - lots of talk and no substance and ended up being unable to manage both a stumbling economy and a poor referendum campaign.
Theresa May was simply not strong enough to handle the ERG and back bench thugs of her Party.
And... as already mentioned, Johnson was behind the knifing of May for his own political aspirations and then proceeded to infect politics and society at large with his amoral and deceitful attitude that his own MP's finally came to realise was disastrous. |

Sadly I think you could be right. However it does mean many of the typical posts a few months ago when people were calling for Boris to resign were wrong. They consistently said absolutely anyone would be better than Boris. |

Well remembered, that was the mantra.
I doubt the mantra will ever change regardless of the person at the top, some people need a target to moan about, keeps them happy though |

Your replies are becoming like groundhog day. Just regurgitation of the same lines.
Just like your great leader, doesn't matter what question was asked the reply would be " we got Brexit done".
Because he new all the pied piper followers would cheer with glee on hearing those 4 words. |

I think he was very unfortunate to be PM during the biggest set of world events since WW2 can't think of anyone in any of the parties who could have done better.
HOWEVER I really can't see how anyone could have done worse,he lost his way very quickly and did everything he could to hide the errors.
Eventually the contempt he has shown for the working class has really shon through.
Shame as one of the person's responsible for getting the Olympics to London in 2012 I hoped he was a better person than he's turned out to be. |
